The staff is very pleasant. Hotel doesn't have an elevator so carrying luggage up three flights of stairs was kinds interesting. The toilet was not cleaned, no face towels in the room and tables in the room was dirty also. On my third day (Sunday) my room was not clean. By the time we got back to the room housekeeping was going for the day and no one was able to change the sheets, we was give fresh towel by the front desk attendant.

Not bad for the price. Beach, stores and action close by. Good AC in room! Not luxury but perfect for the bargain shopper!

the hotel was decent, the staff were very friendly, helpful, and humble. The only thing I didnt like is that they didnt come into my room to clean up a little.

It was not a complete surprise, but I enjoyed so much the comfort, size and cleanliness of the room! And the location was ideal for my purpose; many options for eating and traveling right there in front. I was with old friends and new relations and we all enjoyed the convenience and comfort of the hotel. It felt like we were home!

Iwould recommend as a place where you can find comfortable accommodations in a good location near beach area with lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance.

Good good excelent i will recomended the price was good and the quality better

the receptionist was amazing my friend and I didn't have a clue what to do when we were to arrive in Puertorico. The receptionist helped up out with EVERYTHING her name was Aida and she booked everything for us. My best-friend and I were so amazed on how helpful she was. Not only that, but the price was amazing, breakfast in then morning from 7am-10am thank god, because I love to get up late. check out was at 11am and they still let us have our stuff at the hotel until we were ready to leave to the airport. I'm defiantly staying here again it fits all my needs!

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Canario for 4 nights in late January 2014. It`s located right on Ashford avenue with plenty of restaurants and shops all over the place. The beach is a 3mins walk away and the bus stop to Old San Juan is just down the street. The hotel itself is cute and the staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were small but very clean (and who goes to Puerto Rico to hang out in the bedroom anyways?). Overall I would definitely recommend the Canario if you`re just looking for a great location for an affordable price.

You will never have a room there unless you reserved through their website! The story is always the same, there was a misunderstanding: they approved the reservation without checking the availability of the room. They are very sorry about that, but in these cases they advise to send them an email/call 1 week before the departure. So, I showed them our email sent 10 days before the departure asking about our reservation, and the replies from Mariela and Calvin confirming our reservation at Canario BOUTIQUE. Calvin wasn't able to answer after seeing the emails, and gave us the phone number of Sigrid (the Manager), letting us know that the day after they will find a room at the Real Canario Boutique Resort. In the meantime, they reserved for us a room at Canario by the Lagoon, with separate beds (we are a couple)! moreover, we booked the Deluxe room paying the extra fee... At least these people at the other hotel were nice to change our room with a queen bed one! They had a nice and friendly staff, but still remains a cheap B&B, in comparison to the one that we booked. The Adventure Pack that I reserved, was overbooked and we lost that money too. Advice: Better choosing another hotel in that area, because you don't know if you will always get the room that you booked.

rrooms are pretty outdated and fairly small even when travelling by yourself, rooms are clean and staff is great. convenient location

OK TO SLEEP THERE BUT NOTHING ELSE IS THERE. THERE BARS IN THE AREA WERE OK, BUT ALOT OF GAY BARS IN THE AREA.

Pleaseant and will return. Puerto Rico is a beautiful island and Condado area is great.

I booked a room here.. beware you have to give 10 days notice to cancel reservations here, now i know why! Hot water in shower didnt work! Very low water pressure! So i couldnt even take a shower! The room is as small as a shoe box! there is no parking, you have to park like a block away! i would never stay here again. on the bright side it is close to all the bars and restaurants..

the hotel is very small but its very good/ the room we had was 2bd and it was big, can't tell about 1 bd rooms. the location is perfect: its on the street with all the entertainments and close to the ocean!

I've spent a couple of nights in this hotel. The location is great - it is close to the beach, close to the restaurants, bars, souvenir-shops, stores and etc. The hotel staff is friendly and the rooms are perfectly cleaned every day. There is a breakfast included in the price, which was a good surprise for me. I would recommend it to friends.

Good value, rooms are perfectly cleaned, the staff is friendly, location is great

soon as i landed checked in and went out to party .Came back to my clean room everything was in order in my room clean towles soap flat screen tv perfect i didnt spend to much time in my roon ,But the time i did i enjoyed it ,The price was right for what i payed ,I would go their agian even over larger hotels I felt total safe at my stay their can,t wait till next year or Dec 10 to come agian

I have stayed at El Canario before and love it's convenient location. It is an older hotel with a certain charm and in a safe location. There are many very good restaurants within walking distance and helpful staff. While the rooms are small, mine was clean and comfortable. There is no elevator but each room has small private bath, AC, room darkening shades, flat screen tv and wireless Internet connection and phone. The continental breakfast is fresh fruit, muffins, boxed cereal, juice and coffee. The beach is within easy walking distance and towels are provided. I wouldn't use this hotel as a beach resort, but for a quick few days in San Juan it is ideal. I live on another Caribbean island and traveled to San Juan for personal business.

Canario Boutique was suprisingly much nicer than I thought and the front desk was very helpful and friendly. However, the lady at the front desk was not so friendly. The room was clean. The room and furniture was in pretty good condition. I would definitely stay here again.

The inn was secure, clean, & offered continental breakfast. The staff was fine & the location is superb. The rooms are small, but comfortable & daily maid service. I would stay there again. The price was right, also.
