We have stayed in this chain of hotel before and were not disappointed with this selection. Its a short ten minute or so walk from the city centre. Alcazar and Cathedral and a couple of minutes form the Plaza de Espana. Rooms are spacious, bar area is large and welcoming and all service staff were polite and helpful. Buffet Breakfast was extensive to set you up for the day.
Well located hotel convenient for visiting the sights. Just a few minutes walk from where the airport bus stops. The room was clean spacious and comfortable. The hotel is located at a crossroads. The constant beep beep beep from the pelican crossings at the junction was annoying. Our room was located on the 6th floor. I emailed the hotel twice in advance of our arrival to ask which bus stop to use when coming from the airport - no reply. We will go back to Seville but not to this hotel.
Made a reserve here through Booking only and exclusively because the hotel information said it included spa, hamman and jacuzzis. Upon arriving and asking for it, it's said it doesn't belong to the Hotel - if you want to use it, you have to pay. After being told the website information is misleading, they say they are not responsible for what is in Booking, even though Booking says it's the Hotel that provides such information. Never trusting Meliá or Booking again...
This year we decided to spend our New year's eve at Seville, and we chose Melia Seville to stay from 30th till 1st January 'cause it had great reviews and there was a spa (at least it was annouced at booking..). On the arrival: there was a problem with their software, so we were only able to checkin after 5pm. As a compliment, they offered some drinks at the bar. There was no wifi available all day due to an internet problem.. Since we didn't have plans for the new years eve, we asked at the reception if they had any party planned. There was a Gala...but it was fully booked...nevertheless, we could have dinner at the restaurant and have the celebration at the reception... On new year night, we had the dinner at their restaurant (very good meal) 'cause most of the restaurants in Seville were closed (always book in advance for the few that are opened). We went to the reception and there was no one to celebrate...after that, we asked at the reception were we could go out to dance..the answer was litteraly: everything is closed, or having private partys, there is no taxis and there is no one on the street tonight... realy helpful... Well...i said i was looking for a spa, right? well..turns out that their spa and internal poll is managed by a different company, and is only opened between 10am and 4pm (or so we were told at the reception). ah! and it was closed on 1st January... Nevertheless, we decided to spend an extra night (1st to 2nd Jan) and at the reception we were told it would cost 170€. On checkout we were charged for 300€ and told this was the price including taxes... The rooms ar confortable, and the restaurant very good...but the the staff at the reception was our main problem. i enjoyed the spa on january 2nd :)
Excellent hotel.Do go there, you will not regret it but bring your own kettle.Quiet location near major tourist attractions. Walk some 30 minutes for the busy city center or take a taxi in front of the hotel.Enjoy the breakfast which is generous but same everyday.
The lobby was nice and that was it! The whole building is old and rundown. As soon as you head out of the lift heading towards your room you will notice a stale smell all the way and even in your room. The airconditioning does not work during winter- it was really hot and stuffy. Room was also not cleaned well. Would not recommend this hotel if you’d like a good night rest after a long day out.
Located approx. 10 mins walking distance from the city, this hotel is a good idea for a short business trip, however if you wanna stay longer in Seville you should look for alternatives. As I'm quite familiar with the Melia chain and have been guest in many of the melia hotels I stumbled upon small differences which made our longer stay in Seville not that comfortable as expected and hoped. First, the walls are quite thin, which means if you are up to listening to love making or conversations of your neighbors you found the right spot. As the acoustics in this hotel are somewhat unfavorable, you should ask for a more private room or pay up the difference for the Level rooms, which are more convenient. Second, food and breakfast are ok, however the crowds at the buffet are intense and unbearable. Food is made for masses which means quality suffers. Third, the price is quite expensive if you compare other four or five star hotels in that area. In the end I'd rather taken a smaller hotel in the city which is more cozier and surprisingly more quite. Lots of noise from the streets and construction work made the stay not really relaxing.
Nothing that was missing. Nothing you needed more. Very good townside 1.) near the world wonder like looking Place L'Espagne with its wonderful park and 2.) straight direction into the city center. Really a place to return time and again.
If you plan a good and refreshing sleep, forget this hotel. It is located near the very busy street and you can hear the loud traffic all the night. It is like there are no windows! But, even worse is that you hear the neighbour room clearly as they talk, walk and whatever else they do. Our stay was a total nightmare and would never choose this hotel again. Don't care about other hotel features unless I cannot sleep.
Stayed 2 nights in this hotel for a city trip, as a Melia reward member and I paid a very reasonable price for my stay. It is a quality 4 star hotel, but during my stay in December just before Christmas, I had the impression that the occupancy was rather low for such a big hotel. It is also a pity that they don't have a restaurant. The hotel room was good quality and the breakfast was excellent, although you feel lonely in such a big room when there are only a few other persons having breakfast (which was used as a restaurant in the past, or maybe only during the high season). Location is just outside the city center, near Plaza de Espana but a bit longer walk to the other interesting places like the cathedral and the Real Alcazar.
