Nice hotel the situation is fantastic overlooking the city. Rooms are comfortable the pool is not really a pool but is nice You can walk to the hotel to the old city very close but then you have to climb up You will enjoy your stay in this hotel
We just returned from a four night stay and found the hotel staff quite friendly but struggled most of the time to be understood the only staff who spoke English were at reception. The lack of sun beds surprised me as I have stayed in other hotels in spain which provided lots of sunbeds, this would put me of staying here at peak times of the year. The hotel is on quite a steep hill which I found a struggle so anyone old or disabled would manage it at all. This is a beautiful hotel but I think it is more geared toward business meeting rather than tourists. Breakfast waslovely with a good selection to choose from.
Just back from a 4 night city break staying in bellavista and have to say this hotel could be so much better. Marriott was my companies preferred choice of hotels and consequently I have stayed in their establishments so many times and in so many countries over the world this one falls a little short on standards of others. It's a little tired décor and furniture wise in the rooms, the terrace could be spectacular but amazingly for a hotel of this size we counted the grand total of 3 sun loungers and 2 deck chairs from which guests can enjoy the views. A few loose tiles could easily be rectified to prevent trip risks. A few pallets are strewn around which if you go and find a staff member and request they will put a mattress on. No one comes to offer drinks or pool snacks. The web photography of the pool is miraculous in making it look larger it's actually about 5x3mtrs approx and not maintained so full of dead flies.consequently the terrace is virtually deserted which seems to suit the staff . Web make no mention that the hotel is up an EXTREMELY steep hill, anyone with mobility issues will find it impossible therefore taxi is only answer as the hotel doesn't seem to offer courtesy transport to the town which they could and should do given the location. A gypsy camp is next door and the local donkey delighted in braying early every morning to ensure guests wake early. Bar is sporadically served by calling reception to get someone to serve drinks, they are very quick to point out it closes at midnight for their convenience. The hotel caters more for business use and could and should look more carefully at what they are providing for the holiday guests, it's less than it could be. Given the rooms have no balconies the offering for leisure on the terrace is woefully poor. Taxi to old town centre is 6/7 euros and it's the best thing to do to escape the mediocrity. Staff are friendly when spoken to but don't go overboard in making the effort to interact with guests. No safety box in room it's at reception but it is free and so is wifi
Can't see how this hotel is rated 5* On a positive note, the reception staff are helpful, the rooms are fine and the breakfasts are good, although a fairly limited selection. The big problem is the terrace. This area is huge and offers beautiful views across Girona. Trouble is there's literally no amenities. Two sunbeds, a couple of deckchairs, 4-5 mattresses on pallets, tiny swimming pool .... and getting a drink took ages. The waiter was obviously asked to do other things so u had to ring a bell at the bar and just wait ... all a million miles from 5* Overall disappointing and wouldn't recommend this hotel
We stayed for just one night and would recommend for a short break to Girona. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We checked in early and managed to get a room at 10am. The decking area overlooking the city is a wow. However trying to get a drink during the day here was a challenge. We gave up and walked in to town. We were disappointed that there was no option to have lunch. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The location is a short walk down in to town but can be a bit of a trek back up in 34c heat. We enjoyed our cocktails on the terrace at sunset. There is no where nearby for breakfast so best to book with the room. Loved the views, the location and the friendly reception. Just let down by lack of service during the day.
We enjoy staying in the hotel the view is perfect, the food is good and the Filipino waiter he served well n knows how to deal with client very good service.Nice to be back.I will recommend to my friends
We recently spent a week at this hotel and I suggest there a number of things that unfortunately just didn't hit the mark for a 5 star hotel. Overall the hotel is rough around the edges...although the cleaning staff were ever present the level of cleanliness was poor. The waiting staff were at best sullen but often nowhere to be seen. I do have to point out though that the reception staff were always friendly and helpful. What the hotel failed to deliver for their guests they more than made up for when hosting private parties/events - there were 3 during our stay, all on the sun terrace. This is obviously where they make their money and a great deal of time & effort went into ensuring they went well...i suggest to the detriment of their paying guests. The location of the hotel, sitting above the city afforded lovely views and dramatic sunsets but would not suit less mobile guests as the walk back from the city centre involves a steep incline for a good part of the way.
Very modern, trendy hotel, located on a hill just east of town, about 10-15 minutes by foot from the historic old town. Beautiful lobby bar and adjacent outdoor terrace/bar/pool deck are nice places to relax with a drink and were popular in the early evening. Ample free parking makes this especially convenient for those traveling by car. Room was large with substantial storage space, and bathroom was especially large, with both a tub and a bidet. Free mini-bar was a nice touch. Room was very reasonably priced for a 5-star property. Flat-screen TV - which was made to double as a computer monitor - could have been larger for a room this size. There could have been more lighting in the room as well. Very nice breakfast buffet was an additional 13.20 euros incl. tax.
The hotel AC have a nice location on the hill next to the city and offers a nice view over Girona, but only from the terrass and not the rooms. Fine style of internal and a clean hotel, very good breakfast and nice service. Pool and gym is very smal.
Absolutely disgusted by this hotel. We had nothing but issues with this place. Firstly the staff have terrible attitudes to the point of not giving a damn about their guests. We were served RAW chicken and no matter what country you are in this is wrong! I asked to speak to a manager immediately only for him to walk away from me while I was talking to him!! He came back to me... Would you like us to cook it more..? Are you kidding me..? I asked to speak to a manger at reception only to be told the man I spoke to wasn't even a manager... Just proving that they didnt even listen to my request. I still didn't get to chat to any member of management even thought I requested it several times. Both myself and my partner now have food poisoning. They just smiled at me and didn't take me or the situation seriously! This however was not the only issue we had. We had to change our room keys every day as they stopped working after a couple of hours and on two separate occasions we came back to our room door laying wide open! Luckily nothing was taken but you want to feel secure and again a basic requirement for a 4 star hotel. To top off the stay one of the waiters tried to rip us off by double charging us for drinks.. now I understand mistakes can be made but no apology was made to us and she was actually annoyed at me for confronting her about this. Back to the hotel itself...do not be fooled like we were by the images on the website... The pool is tiny.. the ceiling is made of chipboard ..the bedsheets had holes in them... the finishings around the unstaffed make you wait 20 minutes for a drink "bar" and pool are falling apart. This place is a health hazard in more ways than one!! Easy to say we will never be back and I implore you never to go here!!!
