This is my favourite place to stay on Kauai. Views of the ocean from the lanai is breathtaking. I can’t think of a place I would rather be. Rooms are well equipped. They are somewhat dated. Small pool and hot tub on site and no easy beach access if that is what you are looking for. We absolutely love staying here.
We booked this Wyndham property 11 months ahead for 5 nights. We were excited to have a small property with a pool and hot tub just off the ocean. At the time of booking nothing was disclosed about the pool or hot tub being closed. This was not a breakdown, but planned maintenance. We were not e-mailed and offered a chance to change our plans. We were not notified at check in. The next morning the pool and separate hot tub were drained. We went to front desk and the girl offered a sincere apology. She said we could swim at place we checked in, but the Wyndham Bali Hi was not allowed, even in this situation. I wanted to speak to a manager, but she said I would have to contact RCI, since we reserved through them. I would have expected more from a hotel! Beware of Wyndham's handling of situations... Unit was nice 2 bedroom with gorgeous views!
I was a little disappointed to have gotten this room due to the reviews I've read. But it really isn't that bad. I'm sure the units right on the cliff have more spectacular views, but this unit does have a pretty amazing view, too---even being ground level.
Seems like every room has a perfect ocean front view; we were surprised when we woke up in the morning after getting in late at night. Room was nice and clean and staff were good. Learn to say NO to the time share selling meeting...they are not worth your time.
This place! we stayed for 2 nights (8/19,8/20) and it was just perfect! The pool and the spa, so close to the ocean was great! the only thing that is a minus, although, it still gets 5 stars, was the check in, at another property, and the directions that were given, were at best, vague... but still a fabulous place to stay!
Although Princeville is much more expensive that the other side of the island, (Lahaina is the best), we enjoyed our vacation. We had a two bedrooms two baths condo with lanai front of the ocean. The vue was stunning. The only bad thing is the bed sofa, if you are planning on sleeping six, forget this resort. The sofa bed is the worst we had ever seen and when the maintenance guy came to check it, he said it was one of the best they had, the other were worst... No additional bed available. So if you are 4, it's perfect, the rooms are confortable but not for six! You need a car absolutely. Everything is far away and very expensive!
We stayed here on a Thursday to Thursday timeshare trade through RCI. Without a doubt the best trade I’ve done, yet! We stayed in unit 206 for the week which looked out over the ocean and was right over the pool/hot tub. Kids loved it! We had a 2 bedroom unit with 2 baths. Washer and dryer in unit along with full kitchen and dining table. Wall safe in master bedroom. There is also a huge porch (lanai) facing the ocean. My mom loved it so much she decided to sleep out there! From the window in the back of the unit you could see the mountains. No A/C in these units. However, the trade winds were blowing constantly, so we did not need A/C. Plus I think having the doors and windows open for the trade winds helped us disconnect from the hectic world we’re accustomed to and reconnect with nature. We would get up with the sun and usually go to bed with the sun. Roosters and birds would usually wake us up at sunrise. In the clubhouse you can find a PC and filtered water. Ice machine and gas grills adjacent to the clubhouse. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We also discovered a beach trail beside the adjacent property, Sealodge. You can see the trail head on your left as you walk through the Sealodge parking lot.
We were extremely satisfied in our stay at Wyndham Shearwater. The unit had an excellent view of Anini Bay. Lots of restaurants were within close proximities. We would very much like to be back here in the future.
The views from Shearwater are extraordinary. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They will assist you with excursions and other activities and even book tours for you at a dicount.
We own Shearwater as a timeshare and have been coming here every other year for 20 years. You do not have to own to come here, but we return time and again because of the intimate size, location, and views. It simply can't be beat. Condos provide the amenities needed like a kitchen and laundry which have been proactively maintained, but the location and views are outstanding and breathtaking. In the winter you can watch whales from the lanai. In the summer you can gaze at the fringe reef down below for hours. My only advice is to avoid being near the pool to maximize views.
