What an absolutely beautiful property! The location and the views are absolutely spectacular. As mentioned frequently, the facility is definitely dated and could use some love. Hotel staff said the company that purchased the hotel in November is planning an eco-conscious renovation. Not sure if it is worth the cost in the state its in right now. Also didn't appreciate the extra charges for valet parking (not optional) and the resort fee - what is that? Aren't I already paying to stay at the resort? The service was good but not the white glove service you would expect at this price point. I would tenatively recommend staying here.

The valet option is nice, but there isn't an option if you want to self-park - and they don't tell you about the $35 per day parking fee until you get there. Would prefer this to be known in advance and/or have a self-park option. Overall, love the service and staff and the property is beautiful.

Gorgeous location, very clean, super nice staff, great pool.

Greeting from the staff was wonderful and the pool/ beach area was beautiful

I loved the beach and the breakfast is absolutely excellent. The hotel has some parts that are a little bit old.

The property is going through a new owner transition. There is peeling paint and areas of disrepair, however, the lobby is lovely. Positive comments: The pool and ocean setting are the real draws for this hotel. Amazing! The staff is first rate. Room amenities are high-end, except I was surprised it had robes but no slippers. The negatives: There are 2 restaurants for dinner and the food was just OK, and very expensive for what one gets. We were unimpressed by the chef, the menu was limited and lacked creativity. One item is a pork chop which was thickly crusted in batter and fried, and awful. Another item is MahiMahi, which was so heavily salted, it was hard to eat. With one drink and one dessert, we spent almost $140, and it was not worth it. There is a spa with a steam room but guests are not allowed access, unless one has a treatment. Hawaii has the highest level of UV in the country and skin cancer/damage is a real concern. From my experience, all Hawaiian high-end hotels have sunscreen available by the pool for the guests to take a squirt, and encourage guests to lather up, and some hotels have someone walking around with a UV spray for guests. At Princeville, when asked at the pool for a UV cream was told, "you can buy some". That attitude is disappointing, showing blatant disregard or ignorance that their property is in an area of extreme high skin cancer risk. I hope the new owners keep the old grand wooden/ marble architectural elements during renovation.

Amazing place to stay while in paradise! Plan for high prices regarding food while staying on the island.

This is the ultimate luxury hotel! Gorgeous views, friendly staff, excellent service, delicious food, amazing spa, beautiful pool... it’s expensive, but worth the splurge for a couple of nights while you’re on Kauai.

Best service and view we have ever experienced. If the rooms were updated and exterior painted, this would be the greatest hotel I have ever seen. Very high end service in every aspect.

Great hotel with an amazing view. Staff was delightful. Room was always clean. Overall a great trip. Will be staying with this hotel again.

Beautiful hotel, staff went out of their way to ensure that your needs were met.

This hotel is just perfectly located hovering over Hanalei Bay. The views are spectacular as breakfast on the terrace is a must do. Otherwise, the hotel rooms are spacious and comfortable. Maybe the only negatives are the cooler weather in January in Princeville as well as the prices of the restaurants. I understand that this is a high end hotel and that goes along with staying in a nice place, but it's tough to see the least expensive sushi roll at their bar at $33. But again, nobody should go there to get a bargain deal as that's not what the hotel offers its' clients. Also, there are restaurants in Hanalei to choose from, just a quick drive from the hotel. Overall, I loved the hotel and the view. And of course, the pool was very nice too right next to the beach. You just can't beat the location of this hotel.

Staff were exceptional. The aloha spirit is alive & well here.

The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and very nice. The location of the hotel is perfect. Overall, excellent experience.
