A wonderfully welcoming hotel, where the staff can't do enough to be helpful. Very comfortable, spotlessly clean room, and excellent location. Were it not for the breakfast, which we found restricted in choice, we'd have given it five stars.

The Great George is the best hotel experience we have ever had, and we have had many hotel experiences throughout our world travels. This is our second time here, and as before, the friendly and efficient service couldn’t have been better. It is the personal touch, very clean well decorated facilities, wonderful breakfast, and delicious chocolate chip cookies are the reasons we are crazy about The Great George. Besides the excellent friendly and accommodating staff, The Great George is in an excellent position to walk to many of the activities that Charlottetown has to offer. Couldn’t recommend this first-class hotel enough and will be returning in the Fall.

When I entered the room, there was music playing which was a nice touch. You get one chance to make a first impression, and the Great George nailed it. Great location, price was comparable, room was comfortable and elegant. I look forward to staying there again.

Spent two nights at The Great George during a road trip with my daughters. This was our first visit to Charlottetown. The hotel is absolutely exquisite and perfectly comfortable. The character of what I assume was once a grand private home has been carefully preserved. The common area draws you in, and we enjoyed relaxing there after our afternoon excursions with the complimentary coffee and fresh baked treats offered by the hotel. I especially appreciated the well-stocked bookshelf. The location can't be beat - perfect for exploring historic, downtown Charlottetown on foot. And I found the staff very professional and helpful, going out of their way to offer suggestions and advice to guests. I very much hope to return one day. Well done, Great George!

I really enjoyed my stay here, although I did have to go to another hotel for a few days as they were sold out but went back. I was in Charlottetown for business for a total of 11 days. Beds are very comfortable and staff were lovely. Going back for another week in April and again in May. Can't wait ti taste test the cookies.

This is a wonderfully appointed, wonderfully located, wonderfully staffed gem. It's within easy walking distance of all the Charlottetown sites and an easy drive to anywhere else on the Island. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The attention to detail is exceptional. Sadly, I had to cut my stay short due to the weather (was driving back to Boston and needed to leave ahead of a blizzard), but truly hope to return to The Great George someday.

The hotel is very quaint. Beautiful foyer, lovely historic feeling rooms with the comfiest bedding. The breakfast staff went beyond and above the call of duty with my dietary restrictions. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else on the island. A true treasure.

I come to PEI for business on a regular base and I've stayed several times at the Great George. The rooms and especially the beds are very comfortable. The service is great and I love the afternoon cookies offered. The only drawback is the variety offered for breakfast. Basically it's some bread, muffins, some fruit and coffee. In my opinion this is not in line with the quality offered for the rooms.

Great hotel, had a free upgrade to a suite room. Excellent parking, good buffet breakfast and available tea/coffee all day. Excellent location, would definitely stay here again. Great character, although you could tell it was very old!

We stayed here New Years Eve as we were flying out early the next morning. The staff were phenomenal, the Inn is historic yet we kept. From the freshly baked cookies to the reception with the terrific young lady playing guitar and singing, it exceeded expectations. Because we were leaving before breakfast the following morning, they had a bagged breakfast ready for us. The rooms were neat and well kept. Overall, it was a really good experience. The only two exceptions were that the heater in the room was quite noisy but we didn't report it til the next morning as we were in late and had the leave early so suffered through that as the alternative of having someone in to fix it or move to another room was not practical and the other was that we asked for a wake up call and it never came. We had several alarms set up though and that was a back up. I would strongly recommend.
