I booked this hotel just for the location almost a month before I checked in. The first thing that Romana (I disliked her sleazy approach so much that I barely remember her name) did was to say that a bunch of American students have checked in and there is no room available and the hotel would be happy to pay for a free cab ride to another hotel that is four bus stops away. This instantly reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where the rental car agency doesn’t have the car Jerry booked and that prompts Jerry to patiently and condescendingly explain to the woman the concept of ‘reservation’ and what is really important is not the ‘taking the reservation part’ but the ‘holding it part.’ Meanwhile, the cab driver was getting aggressive and hurrying to frisk me away from the property. And the receptionist was insisting that the cab ride to my new hotel was free...as though I came all the way to Prague to save myself a lousy cab ride. But she was dense enough to give me the wifi password and not surprisingly they were listing their rooms for 4000K. Rooms at the other hotel was going for just 1500K. After I confronted her…she just had to talk to the manager (and actually walked into an empty room) and informed that they indeed have a room for me! While all this was going on, other guests were checking in without any hassles and into the main part of the hotel. After all this ordeal, all they could give me was a room at the back of the hotel, without any phone or any kind of service. Breakfast is average. Service is non-existent. And if you book any cabs through them, be prepared to pay at least 100-200Kr more than the quoted price. As I said, the only good thing about the hotel is the location.

I jut arrive and It was so easy to get from the central station! Just 10 minutes walk, as well as really near to te city center. The reception es very nice and helpful! And it has a restaurante that looks so good, and the prices are reasonable! I like, and it's quiet and cam! Good hotel.

Hotel Merkur has a classy old world charm the best part being its central location. Staff is courteous and warm. It has a good cafe for breakfast which is really good. The places of interest are nearby and Team station is just opposite the hotel. Parveen

Large room; 10 minutes walk by the center of the town but, if you need, 200 meters from the metro station. Large and complete continental breakfast. Special thanks to the receptionist Natalia, gentle and quick. Angelo Tedeschi & Renata Spolaore

I stayed for 1 week. Room is good not very spacious though. I had a problem with the cleaning. Not meeting the standard at all. The cup of coffee stayed 3 days in a row, no one took it. I had to put it outside. I complained about the cleaning and the towels a lot,I understand this is not a 5 stars hotel but still this is not acceptable and nothing was done but the front desk were very friendly. Especially Natalia she did help me a lot and she is very professional. Breakfast is nice I had milk and cereals every day but the smell wasn't so good. I had to smell the cups to make sure it's cleaned. It's near to everything. I would recommend this hotel. Thank you Nathalia once again.

Really nice service, really glad to be attended. Also really comfortable beds. It's placed in a really nice and beautiful street. The inhabitants are really nice and glad to meet us, they are really helpfull if you ask for help.

I'am travelling with my girls. We got one bad each, which was great. The staff are very polite, nice service. Clean rooms and a great location! Nice hotel with a good price, I will recommend this hotel!

Our family of 4 stayed in merkur between june 13th and 16th in a family room 111 on first floor having two double beds and 2 single beds... hotel is at real nice location just opposite tram stop 14 and only 2-3 min walk up to other tram stop bila labut and metro stop florence.old town square is around 15 min walk .an indian restaurant k brothers is nearby, just 3 min walk..and further ahead is himalaya another good indian eating joint...otherwise lots of cafes around. Our room was fine...big and spacious ..bathrooms were very neat n clean with all required amenities.... no ac in room(might be a problem if its get too hot...though we did not feel the need at all during our stay;we used the fan provided and kept the window open and that was more than enough)and no coffe tea maker in the room...a refrigerator is provided though....our room was facing the tram stop so it got bit noisy at times with open windows and was too much bright n sunny with morning sun..and window curtains are not wide enough to cover it up...might be a problem for light sleepers...choose room at higher floor and not facing the street. Wifi was provided as a promotion for free for first night and then for another night upon liking their fb page..and then again for 48 hours if we write the review on TA and show them and that too for all our devices.also its free of cost at the cafe area...speed was good enough. Breakfast was a decent spread..being vegetarian not much variety of hot food on our first morning..except some bread, cereals , juices ,cakes etc no live egg station..(only pre cooked scrambled egg and boiled eggs).but they caterd us really well next morning.. specially cooked 2 types of pastas for us and some fried potatoes as well...(A big thank you to the chef from our entire family:))... So all together a nice experience and comfortable stay for us and our kids. thanks to entire merkur team.

Very friendly hotel staff. They allowed us to check in 2 hours early- which was really nice since we travelled all day prior. Very accommodating and even provided map and answered all questions! Great location.!!!!!!

Overall it's great and people are very nice. The location is quite near to the city centre. The breakfast buffet offers a variety of food and in general this hotel is good. There are convenient stores nearby and the location is easy to find.
