Breakfast was late and not worth the effort or the overall room cost compared to Hampton Inn. Property was clean, however, the room door did not shut unless you pulled it hard. The housekeeping did not do that, so my room was technically open all day for 2 days. I declined housekeeping on my last days when I figured out why my room was open.
Enjoyed our stay..wifi good, breakfast was sufficient, and comfortable stay. Had everything we needed. Fridge, microwave, lots of tv channels......definitely will come back
Hotel was like we expected. Breakfast was a little sparse, room was clean and comfortable. TV was not flat screen but a very old model. Staff were great, very kind and helpful.

Great location, near town, mountains, farms, lake! Clean & comfortable. If you need a place to crash for the night or weekend, this motel serves it's purpose. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel appears to be in the process of renovation and it is very simple, clean, pleasant. The beds are a bit old and lumpy and need an upgrade. It's a bit out of town and quite isolated. Staff is very welcoming and helpful.
New Paltz is a charming university town in Ulster County, about an hour and a half from New York City. However, what with natural attractions galore and student life, finding a room on a spring weekend can be a challenge. All of our preferred rooms were booked, so we opted for this hotel rather than take one in Poughkeepsie, as our friends did for our weekend meeting in Gardiner at the Mountain Gasthaus. The Gasthaus was wonderful,but our hotel was not up to par. There was a serioiua leak in the cieling dormer, with water and plaster pouring onto the sofa below. We avoided that part of the room for the weekend. I would have mentioned iit to housekeeping, but no one showed up to ckean the room until we were about to check out. Maid said leak was well known, and due to flat roof, and concierge was equally blase. Would have been nice to at least have gotten a heads up when we checked in!:)
This hotel is not great. The room was *very* clean, and that's a good thing - as in cleaner than the average hotel. So I certainly wouldn't tell anyone not to stay there. That being said - beds are old and bad, with major sag in the middle. Sheets and blankets were clean but worn and ripped. WiFi was barely functioning. Room is small. TV is old and didn't work well. The fridge was not clean on the inside. Furniture looked like it was pulled from the side of the road. Overpriced at basically the same cost as a three star hotel. It felt safe, it was quiet, it was clean. That's all it is. And it's better than the other hotel across the street in New Paltz, so if you have to stay in that area, it's the lesser of two evils.
