Maitei Posadas Hotel & Resort4.0 out of 5.0

We stayed at this largish hotel whilst waiting for a plane flght to Buenos Aires. It is close and convenient but not the exciting resort that the advertising makes it out to be. The waterfall is a cascade of water over some rocks and the lake seems to be a man made pond. The restaurant served up a good meal whilst we were waiting for our room to be prepared. It was good to see that a life guard was present at the swimming pool, however the smoke detector was missing from the room. Not a place for us to holiday but a convenient and clean pit stop on the road to somewhere else.
Well, well: This is not an international standard - from the parking to the kitchen. The breakfast was just poor, the coffee was terrible as often in this blessed region, the butter was strong (we had really good breakfast in Argentina and it's not much work nor much expenditure to realize a good breakfast: and you can win so much, manager). You can stay overnight atv Matei but if you are used to international standards and expecting them, it will hardly be a pleasure.
There are not many reasons to come to Posadas. I had a work assignment and sought a hotel that was quiet, clean and comfortable. This hotel is one of the three best recommended on Tripadvisor. If you come from the Mecca of hotels (Buenos Aires) you will have hotel culture shock. I choose “Maitei Posadas” and after 4 nights I can tell you the good points: #1 The Towels are the best yet and there was lots of hot water for showers, #2 well, hum, ok, the towels. Here is the otherside: This is a very large complex that caters to very large groups, coming in around 4pm on multiple buses and staying for a short time (like 1day/1night). During that time any peace and quiet you sought is gone. First, came the college nursing group (way more than 200 young women – 4 or 5 to a room),next night the motorcycle groups (less than 200) and then, the next night, arrived the dancing/singing/running/yelling 4-9 year old girls with their parent (way more than 200, easily). By September the pool you see in the photos was empty and “under repair” the relaxing Spa’s hot tub was cold, your breakfast is paltry and mostly starchy breads and rolls. Finally, if you need internet connection you will be very frustrated. When you do get a signal ( only found in the lobby) with the nurse/bikers/dancing kids the speed is very, very slow. How slow? .89 mbs ( speedtest) that is dial-up speed folks. Oh, the taxi to the center of Posadas is about $14 or (200 pesos) each way…. Hope you have a car (parking is free!) Not Recommended unless you are a dancing/singing/running/yelling kid.
This hotel is next to the airport and offers free airport shuttle. This hotel has high standards and efficiency. It has extensive grounds and a nice good sized swimming pool which i did not have the opportunity to enjoy as I had an early flight and arrived late. Breakfast was good. It is a clean comfortable hotel with good shower, comfortable bed, fridge and safe. The cable TV was in Spanish. There is also a big shopping complex nearby. It is 15 minutes taxi drive from Posadas.
Nice hotel, good service and restaurant but there was no hot water in the shower (on the whole floor, not only in my room). We were told that this is a recurrent problem, inadmissible for the price we paid. I wouldn't recommend to anybody.
This hotel is placed in a beautiful location and it has a charming architecture, with lots of wood, open corridors, nice pool, tennis courts, sauna, etc. It has a great breakfast and you can dine very good food. Rooms are of a good size and all have a balcony.
We stayed at this hotel for one night before departing on a tour of the Ibera Wetlands and Iguazu Falls. The hotel is right next to the Posadas airport and the pre-arranged hotel shuttle driver was waiting for us at the airport even though our flight had been delayed over an hour due to heavy thunderstorms. Our hotel room was very clean and nicely appointed. The staff were very nice and the service was excellent. This is a very nice hotel to stay in if you are in this part of NE Argentina.
It can be difficult reviewing South American amenities with a North American view. This was listed as a very upscale resort. Somewhat difficult to find. Service was very good. Towels were to die for. The service at the spa was nice especially the way they controlled the number of people that could use it simultaneously. Hot tub was cold. Pool was not well heated and the evening hours of usage were very limited. Breakfast, free with the room, looked plentiful, but was very continental; some cheese and tons of different types of bread with weak orange juice, but plenty of every thing.
Telling the truth, I got scarpe in the beginning. A lot of kids, and I was looking for relax. But my daughter love the atmosphere. I have to tell you, I am happy I changed my minds. The kindness of employees, polite and professional, especially Ivan at reception, Pablo at the restaurant and Adriana at the pool bar really made the difference. Thank you again.
We stayed here as a quick stopover between Buenos Aires, a visit to San Ignacio, and Iguazu. (We were not there to see the town, so being away from it didn't bother us). Although close to the airport, we did not hear noise. Our room was comfortable, clean, and everything worked. The pool was very pleasant. It's not walking distance to the town, so we were fine at the restaurant which we thought was good. We did not think it was expensive. The service, including reception and restaurant was excellent. We had the impression this was rather off the beaten path for English speakers. Neither the dinner nor breakfast waiters spoke English, however they went out of their way to find someone on staff who did. They tried very hard to please us, and they were successful.
