Days Inn Dover

2.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

You can walk to restaurants, bars, stores and view historic architecture in downtown Dover. Other shopping just minutes away by car. Watch the one way roads though. They can be tricky until you get used to them. The pool and jacuzzi were nice. Staff is great. Some guests get a little rowdy but the staff were right there. Just stay inside instead of outside. Costs more so the Orbitz rates dont apply. Would not reccomend staying outside the main building. Too many construction workers getting drunk and disorderly. But for more money per night the hotel will move you inside for safety.

Very good value. Convenient location downtown. Nice pool and hot tub. Friendly staff.

Great location in town. Plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Decent rooms for the price and clean. Dog friendly but no grass on property.

We were given a room in the back of the hotel and it smelled like stale cigarette smoke. Nothing looked clean and we were absolutely freezing at night. Not enjoyable at all.

The tv turned off with the light switch and would not turn back on. Very disapointed

We were pleasantly surprised at the location. We expected the hotel to be in the busy highway area. The location being in the historic downtown area make is wonderful to walk around to eat, shop and go out for drinks at night without having to drive. It was 30 minutes to Wells Beach with a nice ride through Berkwick, ME. We also took an hour ride to Freeport, ME. Their are great drink spots and food within walking distance at the Thirsty Moose, Kelleys, Cara's Irish Bar, Christophers and the most awesome food at The Farm on the river. The hotel room is somewhat dated but very clean and the bed very comfortable. We did not have time to go in the pool or hot tub but both were also very clean. The staff is great and the breakfast more than sufficient. I would return.

As expected. Room was clean, but nothing special. Nice pool, right in town. Nice service.

Room was not thoroughly cleaned. Hair on bathroom floor, hair in drawers, hair in ice bucket. Drawers had crumbs & gum in & crumbs on floor. Asked for them to clean up room, it was never done. We cleaned up the room ourselves & made it work. It wasnt horrible or disgusting & i would stay again, they just need better & more thorough housekeepers. Breakfast isn't bad & location is great! Wish pool had better hours. The staff was friendly.

When calling between 8:30 and 9:30 am to confirm late arrival, there was no answer and the call got stuck in an infinite loop of options and pre-recorded messages multiple directional assistance devices brought me to a pizza place about a block away no elevator only inside staircase did not appear safe restricted pool hours and no pool safety staff no air conditioning in main hall complimentary breakfast was disappointing at best the room itself was just ok staff was available to address an electricity issue very noisy at night not a place I will ever stay at again nor would I recommend it to anyone else

Pleasantly surprised by this visit. The location was fabulous. The room was basic but very clean and met all our needs. The staff wee wonderful.

Located right in the heart of beautiful downtown Dover. Very convenient, clean, big room. Breakfast standard.

Good location for our family weekend special events Pool and hot tub great Staff excellent Very clean Only thing missing was a small refrigerator and microwave Great location in downtown Dover, close to Kittery and Portsmouth area King size bed was welcome Continental breakfast was adequate Parking area was kept plowed, parking is adequate

This was a brief overnight stay to visit a nearby health organization. Just looking for a safe, clean place to stay and got it. The staff was very friendly and they went all out in decorating for Halloween. An extra little bonus in the visit. I would definitely stay there again. Beware GPS guidance. Major road construction had me driving around in a circle for an hour but got there eventually and a nearby restaurant for late supper in walking distance. Continental breakfast was more than I expected. Good selections.

Staff was helpful room was comfortable next time i'll bring my suit for the hot tub!!

I was pleased with this Day's Inn. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the room was clean and quiet.

Everything was great, no complaints. Staff were very pleasant and helpful

Location was perfect. Rooms clean. Would definitely stay there again. The only slight annoyance was the cleaning staff that started cleaning rooms above us at 7:30 am. We didn't have to depart until 11am and could have used another couple of hours sleep. And the humming from air vents in the bathrooms above, when not turned off, carry into other rooms and will drive you crazy! Other than that a perfect stay!

Room was horrible. Baseboard heater, in a hotel? Heat was capped at 68, meanwhile the 1" gap under the door of the MOTEL allowed wind and rain to blow into the room. Wet carpet + cold wind. Had to run the shower on hot to heat the room (it really did make the room warmer).

This hotel isn't fancy but is a good value and the staff seemed nice. The room was clean and everything worked.

hotel was fine and centrally located so we never used the car
