On the edge of Paraggi harbour, this rustic house for 4 offers a quiet retreat with beautiful sea views. The house is ideal for friends who want a convenient base to explore the unspoiled Ligurian coast.

Just a 1-minute walk from the beach, the stone house is reached via a flight of stone steps. The interior has been stylishly finished entirely in wood, with wooden paneling, floors and fittings. The main room is split into two levels, separated by wooden railings. The front door opens into the dining/living room which is furnished with a dining table and banquette seat, wardrobes and a flat-screen TV. Three steps lead to the upper level and the kitchenette. This is equipped with an induction hob, Mokka coffee maker, fridge and a kettle.

The terrace outside the front door looks out over the beach and sea. There are deck chairs where guests can relax and enjoy the view.

Sleeping
There are two wooden bunk beds on the upper level. These can be closed off with louvred doors.

Bathroom
The bathroom has a glass shower, basin, bidet and WC.

Location
Paraggi is a quieter resort than its more famous neighour, but there is plenty to enjoy here. The beach is the only sandy beach near Portofino and it is a popular spot, with crystal clear water. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around the beach.

The Passeggiata dei Bacci (Walk of Kisses) is a 2km coastal footpath from Paraggi to the glamorous town of Portofino. Portofino is known for its colourful painted houses that line the harbour and central square. It is popular with the international jet set and is a great place for people-watching.

Away from the town there are picturesque hiking trails along the coast to the Abbey of San Fruttoso (1 hour and 30 minutes) which makes a lovely day trip. The abbey can only be reached by boat or on foot. Or you can walk out to Portofino’s lighthouse at the end of a rock promontory (40 minutes)

There is a lot to do out on the water. Visitors can hire equipment on the beach in Paraggi and explore this beautiful coastline. Or take a guided tour from Outdoor Portofino just along the coast.

For self-catering there are some grocery stores in Portofino but there is a wider range in Santa Margherita Ligure (8-minute drive). The town’s weekly market in Corso Matteotti takes place every Friday morning. There is also a daily fish market on Lungomare Marconi.

Genova’s International Airport is just a 50-minute drive.
