It was a great holiday, no doubt about that! The hotel was okay, we didn't need anything and the room was great. We did miss though a broader variety of food in the buffet from day to day.. And at the poolbar restaurant, we ate the entire same buffet two days in a row.. The drinks was okay, but don't expect umbrellas and big glasses with the all inclusive. We did have fun though and the staff was so kind and hospitable! :-)
the food in the restaurant in the evening could be better. We only ate the 1 time because of the foodchoise. The breakfast was very fine. Many things to chose, and the bread was excellent. We had the yellow wrestles and could get fruits and snacks after 14.30, bur the fruit was always eaten at that time. You needet to fill it up. The drinks was okay.
Too much noise in the dining restaurant and lobby area and the beds were very bad. Felt like we were sleeping on the springs. Otherwise it was a nice place and the thalasso was pretty even tho we read that it was open every day of the week it was only open 5 days a week.
Visited the beautiful tiny island of Porto Santo in October this year. The little town of Vila Baleira is a hidden gem. The only town on the island and hardly any traffic, therefore no pollution! Not hundreds of shops either ,So nothing to make the men groan! Just a pretty little town square with a few small restaurants and bars. The locals are the friendliest people I have met in any Portuguese town I have ever visited. Taxi drivers are extremely helpful and will take you on any excursion you need at half the price of tourist buses. There is a very old house/museum where Christopher Columbus lived for a few years with his wife, who was the daughter of the islands governed at the time. The 9 kilometre beach is just fantastic and never ever crowded. The population of Porto Santo is only 5000 but swells to around 25,000 in August. September/October is a perfect time to visit. Just remember a at the end October all direct flights from the UK stop. The island can be reached by ferry from Madeira. Ferries run just once day directly to Vila Baleira from Madeira.
If I have to come with something that could be better, There is no thing to do, if you not play golf!! I know, that You have a lowly beach. Maybe you could have playing " Mini Golf ". Sorry I dont answered You before now.
Four star resort, large rooms, faultless cleaning. Direct access to the beach, outdoor and indoor swimming pools and spa, some night entertainment, and daytime entertainment in the pools, Two restaurants, indoor bar and beach bar. All inclusive regime. Varied food, without great refinement but good quality and generally well made. Drinks included satisfactory. Great beach, the main attraction of Porto Santo. Basically geared towards famolias with kids. Staff attentive and correct,
Great Value For Money :-) Traveled with Danish Primo Tours, and their "Ø all inclusive" package is a perfect match for us; Bike rent for free, Tennis for free, Guided walks for free. And last but not least; Beautiful beach (....with WiFi)
If you have just got married, still in the kickoff romantic phase of your relationship or looking for some crazy "where am I? What did I do last night? and who are you?" kind of vacation you might as well move along and search for another hotel and destination. Porto Santo and Vila Baleira Porto Santo are not the place for you. This is a family spot and a good hotel for families with pre-teen children. If you are still reading this than you must match the profile I just mentioned. Let's move on. The hotel is not as updated as the ones next it, but it has spacious rooms, good customer service and an array of good services. The restaurant has a wide variety of tasty options with something for everyone. As you will find a lot of families there is always a background soundtrack of kids being kids. The only thing I would recommend is an improvement of the juices served. They are basically sugar shots with a touch a fruit aroma and everybody knows that kids and sugar don't go well together (at least from a parent's point of view). Daytime snacks at the pool side restaurant are good. The extra-money payed for the premium all inclusive is not worth it unless you really need the sun beds on the beach and are to lazy to walk to pool side restaurant for drinks and snacks . The basic AI will keep you happy and well fed. The pool area has enough sun beds for everybody at any time of day. The entertainment team is great and very friendly. My son had a great time playing football on the beach, water polo and had a laugh with many of the other activities organized by the team. Thumbs up. All things considered this a great option for a nice week with the family.
Large rooms, good service, friendly staff. We were on all included package. Generally food is quite good and a good choice too! The service is very good and the staff very friendly. Majority of tourists are Portuguese and Italians. There is a bus to the city center, or, you can take a taxi for € 9.00
Porto Santo is a dream island. Tranquility and a slow-lifestyle garanteed. The weather is almost always good from May to October. I say this because the last time we stayed at this same hotel last year, was in the end of April and we also had good weather, but less hot. The hotel has a very good location at the beach. Also has nice enviroment, beautiful gardens and a lot of services. Good food, very good spa and thalasso, indoor & outdoor pools with salt water, quite big bedrooms with balcony and good atmosphere in general. The all inclusive plus has very interesting options and we will booked again next year. All the staff is very kind and helpful. This is absolutely a perfect option to spend holidays with family and children, as the employees offer all the facilities and do everything for satisfying yor needs.Highly recommended.
