Good location, near to bars, restaurants and open top bus stop. Very clean, friendly, helpful reception staff. Breakfast was good, not loads of choice, its only small, but good quality. Lovely views from breakfast room / bar on the 8th floor. Only negative was that there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room.

This was a budget hotel. We had booked a superior double which was Room 403, at the front with a little balcony overlooking the street with a view of the Town Hall and Aliados Square. The room was quite small as it had obviously had an en-suite added at a later date. The bathroom was lovely white marble with quite a good shower but small. The furniture and was nice and the bed was comfortable but the bedlinen was really heavy with a traditional cotton counterpane and a big blanket. Everything was really clean though. The room could be a bit noisy at times with all the traffic outside but we thought it was worth it for the view and location. The reception was 24 hour and the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was taken on the top floor and was continental. There was cereals, fresh bread, yogourt, cheese, ham, cakes and croissants with tea, coffee and juice. The view from up there was very good. You can sit outside on a nice morning. Locationwise the hotel would be hard to beat with shops, bars and restaurants on the street and plenty more round about. Buses go from in the square and it’s about 1 minute walk to Aliados Metro station. We travelled from the airport to Trindade Metro station which takes about half an hour and it was about a 5 minute walk to the hotel. It was about a 15 minute walk downhill to the riverfront. We would stay at the Vera Cruz again as it was great value for money.

Porto ! Wow, what a fabulous City. We spent 3 nights in The Vera Cruz before moving on to Lisbon. We wished we'd stayed the entire week in Porto. The Vera Cruz is ideally located just off one of the main squares in Porto with restaraunts and bars just a minute or so away. The Hotel reception is tiny and in truth it we actually passed the hotel and missed it 1st time. The reception staff are superb. Really friendly, happy to advise and very helpful. Our room was on the 3rd floor. There are stairs or the lift. The room was clean tidy and the ensuite bathroom was fantastic. My only issue was because the room as at the rear of the hotel they had frosted windows which meant not much natural light got in. However the bed was comfy the minibar fridge fully stocked and the maids came in each day to change towels, bedding etc. Breakfast is served in the dining room which unusally is located at the top of the hotel on the 8th floor. The lift goes to floor 7 so it's a short flight of stairs to the dining room. Breakfast is typical continental fayre but very nice. This room doubles as the bar in the evening, with the balcony which has tables and chairs, overlooking the square. A lovely place to end an evening. The nearest metro station for trains to and from the airport is Trindade, which is only 5 minutes walk away. The Vera Cruz is an excellent basefrom which to explore this wonderfull city.

Great location, old but comfortable rooms, despite having public parking at the front, parking spaces are rare. The hotel has elevator but the access to the restaurant is done by stairs. Next to the hotel there is a wonderful restaurant called Conga (Bonjardin Street 314-18)

This is a place good for short stays or in case you don't want anything fabulous but just a place where to rest. Location is fairly decent and easily reachable (less than 10mins walking [uphill] from the train station). Rooms are old fashion but decent. Bathrooms are small to the point that closing the shower box if you're a big guy it's gonna be a challenge! :) My bed wasn't great, probably an old mattress which wasn't an issue as I stayed only one night....longer stays may turn to be problematic. Nevertheless, as I said, there's everything you may possibly need for a decent rest for short time. If you want comfort and/or coolness you better go elsewhere.

The location was a decisive factor to book this hotel, just a short distance away from the metro and Sao Bento train station as well as to most interesting sites in gorgeous Porto. The budget room was clean and big enough with a pretty recently renovated small toilet, a plus in my opinion. Breakfast is served on floor 8 with a cool view. The selection is simple (no warm food) but sufficient. In the evening you can sit in the balcony enjoying a drink. Staff was very helpful and nice. Lot of value for money considering this is only a 2 stars hotel!

Great location, walking distance everywhere. Close to a metro station with easy access to the airport and a train station for departure to Lisbon. Continental breakfast served in the 8th floor (rooftop terrace) with nice view of the city. Breakfast was the same everyday but sufficient enough to start a day. Good budget hotel. Will stay again.

The staff is lovely and helpful. Location is very convenient and close to many amenities. The breakfast experience was not nice and I would not recommend it. however, this hotel is cheap so it was not a big deal.

Very central, clean rooms, helpful and friendly staff. When we arrived we were given room on the 1 st floor with no proper windows but when asked staff kindly moved us to the 2nd floor room with normal windows. Only problem we had is old mattresses but we have fussy backs so once we layered few extra covers we were ok, can't expect too much for this price. If you need good location and decent price this is a hotel to stay

Wifi works, clean hotel very central not far from station, breakfast ok, staff very friendly, what can ask for ? For the price i think is cheap and very good value for money. The is restaurant in the left left side of the hotel is good value for money too. I normally don t moan but this hotel had worst bed ever, we had to put spare duvet that we don t feel the metals, they should invest in beds apart from that is amazing
