They booked us in an accessible room without letting us know before hand. The room we were first let into was dirty. The bed sheets had holes in them, surfaces/furniture were dusty (including a magazine with some sort of sticky substance covering the top), and the bathroom had a sliding door that didn't shut. They only had other accessible rooms available so we switched to one on a higher floor. Bed sheets still littered with holes, and dusty furniture.
Growing up in the area I had always heard of how great the hotel was supposed to be. I think it's certainly lost it's luster in recent years. Restaurant is apparently good, but at the price they charge I'd expect the caliber to be higher. Service and staff were very kind. Guess you're paying for the service not the quality of the board. Don't get me wrong, service can make any experience enjoyable. I just expected more from such a talked about restaurant+hotel. I've stayed in other places in Portland and will choose them over this spot.
