The room it self was small it seemed clean to the eye . The bed was actually nice and comfortable . Other than that the floors creaked and my suitcase had ants all over . The breakfast was better than expected . They had coffee , waffles , fruit and cereal . For the price it's ok . You get what you pay for .

First off, if they don't want to honor Orbitz price they shouldn't advertise on the site. They wanted us to cancel our Orbitz booking and pay their higher rate. We refused, and said we would go elsewhere even though it was after midnight, they changed their time. Next morning we got a knock on the door before 8am!!! We told them we would be gone at 10am. They continued to knock every 20 min.

Overall the hotel needs work especially need to buy new mattress. My husband and I both together not over 220 pounds but the mattress has sinned to the bottom.

Convenient location. Accommodating to special requests and changes. Employees were very helpful.

I was a little hesitant to stay here after reading some of the reviews, but my experience was great. Staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable, location was great, price was awesome!

The queen bed's mattress was sagging in the middle. We felt that we were off-kilter when we slept. Because of it, we were not able to sleep well during the 3 nights we stayed there. Also, there was only a very thin blanket provided on the bed. We asked for a non-smoking room but the room smelled like smoke. There was a cigarette burn on the thin blanket. The evening staff when we checked in were courteous and helpful. The morning staff (we talked to 3 of them) looked like they barely got out of bed, hair ruffled. They were not courteous, even though they were not rude. They did not smile at all. The low price of the room is what our budget allowed. It's just sad that the quality of the service and room also poor.

The night staff was welcoming and made my check quick and easy. Was able to park near our room. The room was "clean" for their standards. They need to check the corners of their rooms because what looked like dust, was actually small bugs. Location of the hotel was a little 'sketchy' but you pay what you get for. Complimentary breakfast was unorganized and messy. There wasn't a staff keeping the area up to customer needs.

Breakfast was lacking any type of protein. Staff was very helpful and attentively.

The first hour we were there maintaince randomly walked into our room and then stated they did not know the room was rented out. The cable did not work the entire weekend. The fridge was loud.

Hotel in a scary part of Portland. Free breakfast includes homeless people wandering in to get a fee meal. Don't think I would stay there again, at least not unarmed

The hotel layout is pods of buildings you have to walk to from the lobby. If you have heavy bags and get a room in building C on the third floor - there at 7+ steps to navigate. All else was good enough and a good value. The surprise was the bed. A great bed. Slept great as the mattress was as good as anywhere. At the end of the day: It is all about the bed.

horrible smell, very difficult to find parking, poor customer service (front desk), saw rats running around on outside on the grass

I had bugs in my room and told them and all they said to me was that their was construction. No apology, no compensation, and absolutely nothing. It was just horrible. I had to clean out my bags and clothes to get all the bugs out. I'm totally disgusted and angry! I will never go back to a Howard Johnson. I've never been treated so poorly in my life.

Made our visit to Portland a great stay. Friendly staff and very helpfull

Room was perfectly adequate. Breakfast so-so. Rubber waffle not too good. Signage confusing from street.

This location is convenient to airport. The staff was friendly and helpful but the property us old and rundown with trash and debris around. For the high prices charged ,I was very disappointed.

Many maintenance details in the room and throughout the property were unattended to.... from screws hanging out of corners to tub grout and caulk dirty or missing, no easy plug-ins for power, weeds in the landscaping 2 ft tall or 2 ft around. Just saying could have been much better and safer, and no I never got cut on any of the screws

Bad experience the service is was okay but the room was not good the room smell weird and towels smell weird too.

Though I had booked a room in advance as needing handicap accommodations and prepaid, the room clerk was not sure when I arrived in early evening if they could accommodate me. He wanted to put me on the 3rd floor with no elevator. He finally found one in the second floor with a ramp. I expected to pay no parking while on my trip since I had stayed there previously with no fee, but was told that they were under new management, and so I had to pay. The room itself was clean but there were obvious maintenance needs : paint repairs, the size of the bathroom door was too small, and the light near the bed did not work.

My stay was very pleasant. The hotel is located in a quiet part of town which I liked very much. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I'd lodge hear again,I had no problem with the my room.
