The hotel was in the right place at the right price. Just don't look around very closely at the room. (Worn carpet, stained towels, marks on the wall, etc) They did provide wifi and a ride to the airport. They didn't have a laundry or breakfast.
The cleaning people here are outstanding. The room was very clean. The room was a bit small. Staff was not very friendly. It is very close to the mall and lots of restaurants. One bad think is the ice machine is on the second floor. They do not have laundry facility there.
I opted for a budget hotel/motel just to get some sleep during my travel. No need for anything fancy. My hope was that the room was clean, not run down and the bed was comfortable. It was a cold, rainy night and I was fortunate to get a parking spot 3 steps from my door. As the rain came down, I didn't get wet, and didn't have to slog my bag through a lobby. There's something nice about that. For a budget room, this room is well-equipped and spotless. For the price, there's nothing that takes away from a 5-star review as far as I'm concerned.
Absolutely horrible. Front desk staff could barely understand me, stairway filthy. Room was muggy, had dirty carpet, black mold in bathroom around shower, and on shower curtain. Sheet hard and scratchy. Loud all night outside, police were there twice the night I stayed. This place is a low budget hide away for suspicious activity. Do not bring your family here, especially children. Stay away, and pay extra to enjoy your stay in Maine. No rest, no comfort. Breakfast is horrible dry muffins and juice. The manager, does not care about paying customers, caters to long term transients, who are loud and dis- respectful especially late at night.
This hotel needs some work. They would not allow a late checkout for any reason. The security is fair. The area is open country. There are restaurants in the area that are a good mixture of types of foods and cost.
Location is great for shopping, restaurants and quick & easy access to the interstate or downtown Portland. Old Orchard Beach is just down the highway or the outlet stores of Freeport. The Maine Mall is a short walk away from the motel and grocery is a short drive away (Hannaford's).
Traveling with a dog is no problem. They are pet friendly. The room was neat and clean. The hotel is in a very quiet area and and close to the Maine mall to do some shoping. It is also a short ride to the Airport. We had a very nice complimentry breakfast the next morning. Eggs two ways sausage links, Toast, Beagles, Muffins, Cold cereals, Coffee,Milk, OJ, and the fixins. A very good choice for an over night stay
Budget Priced Econo Lodge but Not Your Best Choice . Rate is Low but if you can afford more you might should consider elsewhere . As previous reviews have stated ( And they are Spot On ) this place needs work . And what is it with Cheaper Hotels and Cigarettes ? Never a Shortage of Smokers / Butts Everywhere / and Burns on the Furniture and Linens No Matter if you are in a Non Smoking Room . And Always Smokers Outside Smoking so you get Gagged Coming In and Going Out . Lobby does need a Refresh Too . And as a previous review mentioned the Property does Somehow Not Feel Safe in a Weird Way . It was obvious from the room I was in . The Entry Door at Some Point had been Kicked In and the Bathroom Door Also . They fixed the damage but what had occurred is still Obvious. One can only Imagine . The Rate is Low for a Reason , Eh .
From the road, the motel looks nice. When you pull up, you can see it needs work. When we arrived, we noticed the HUGE amount of cigarette butts scattered everywhere, peeling paint left and right, wires hanging from the roof (they looked like connections for dishes or something), and weird people just outside smoking and doing whatever. The room itself was decently clean. Strong smell of some type of cleaner. I always inspect the beds no matter where I go and found cups and trash under the bed, and cigarette burns on the bedding. There was sticky stuff in one of the drawers. This was a non smoking room by the way. The bathroom was clean, although the ceiling fan was horrendously loud. Overall, the interior was better than the exterior. The front desk agent was friendly and courteous. The lobby looks old and out of sorts. Thankfully the motel is right across from the mall. That's about the only plus.
Booked this place through Hotwire. Well upon arrival the gentlemen behind the counter just stared at me no can I help or welcome. So is said I have a reservation. He asked for my drivers license and credit I gave them to him. I signed my receipt. Again nothing like here's where to eat what time breakfast is served, how to connect to wifi nothing..The room was kinda clean it needs a dusting. The bed was comfortable it was quiet sheets and towels were clean. Nothing on how to connect to wifi, where to eat, what channels were what for the tv.Lots of channels having signal issues due to dish network too. Next morning I go to breakfast yea more like Lack there if. Cold cereal juice some breads what was left of eggs and sausage. Kinda dirty from people before again no staff tending the area. Saw staff walking the area not a hello how'a your stay nothing. The grounds are run down and need to be tended to. All in all ok for a one nighter. You would want way more recommendations being so close to the mall. Safe to say I will not be staying there again.
