We stayed here as the price was low and we'd be leaving at 3 am to catch an early plane. At check in, 2 employees were having issues with a customer. One finally helped me but seemed distracted. The other employee gave up with the other customer and told the other employee they were leaving and good luck. The hotel is old and outdated. The room seemed okay at first. Then we discovered the toilet handle didn't work without playing with it. When I took a shower, the shower curtain had mold on the bottom. I mentioned this to the clerk on check out, they didn't seem too concerned. The worst part was when we arrived at our destination later that day and my ankles itched. Yup, bedbug or mite bites. I guess low price does not equal quality anymore, you get what you pay for, I would not stay here again, for any price.
We stayed for two nights during Thanksgiving. Room was basic. Clean enough, beds confortables. But the place badly needs updating. Peeling paint/wallpaper, bathroom door seems to have been changed but never painted (still on the primer therefore hard to keep clean). Coffee is available in the room but no sugar or milk/whitener available. The second evening, when back at the hotel, the room smelled of cigarette smoke probably coming from another room through the bathroom ventilation system. Breakfast is included but don’t hold your breath, muffins, toast and cereal are available with coffee and a couple of fruits. The mall, however is in walking distance. Convenient for those Black Friday shoppers, I guess.
Management seemed friendly at first, I am not one to complain about the little things, but I was down state for what was already a stressful situation, for an appointment. I looked for an hotel close too my appt. Convenient wise, perfect location. The pictures on the website are deceiving, the building is not well kept, the room was dirty, the coffee pot leaked all over wires, I had to go get my own towels, etc. Breakfast was, well I wouldn't even call it a breakfast I would feed my child. Bread had mold, orange juice was not orange juice but coffee was on point. I stayed 2 days the first night, I tried to pay the 2 nights separate, they wouldn't let me. Then the 2nd day, I woke up to find they were holding 3 night stay on my card, and would not release the hold of the 3rd night, that I was not even scheduled to be there. My bank called to talk to them, management refused to release the money was saying it was my banks mistake. Social worker at my appointment called, management and within the hour after my appointment the money was released in my bank.. I was so pissed, I've never been that mad at a place ever. I can deal with the little things, but never mess with my money... I do not recommend this place what so ever, not a place for young children either, loud, disruptive people outside, dogs barking all night. It was not helpful at all to stay here, added more stress to already a stressful situation. . Pay the extra $20 per night to stay at a 5 star it will be worth it. That is exactly my plan for next appointment. They would have gotten no stars if it was possible.
Our room was clean but everything was unplugged including the fridge and tv on arrival. The tv would not turn on once plugged in requiring assistance. We wondered if there had been an electrical problem. There was a mirror hanging crooked and several holes in the wall near the bed where it looked like a larger headboard must have been removed. The toilet ran through the night off and on and the room door did not seal well. It would be a cold room in winter since you could see daylight through the door due to it not closing properly. Our request for ground floor was not honoured yet rooms on ground remained empty all weekend. Our room was not cleaned the first two nights. We took our own garbage out and requested fresh towels the second day. It wasn’t horrible but I wouldn’t pick this location again. Based on the shape of the room condition and lack of servicing it shouldn’t have cost more than $50 a night in my opinion.
Cheap and basic, right behind the JC Penney at the Maine Mall and next door to the Hannaford. I was surprised and pleased; very welcoming staff and the room was absolutely immaculate! I will stay again. Mini fridge, microwave, big TV, plenty of HOT HOT water and a friendly and welcoming staff. We will stay again for sure.
Location was good, it's right accrose a big mall. Close to restaurants. The staff when we checked-in is not very welcoming and took time to check us in without telling us what was going on. There was continental breakfast of muffin, coffee, fruits. Parking lot was dark and there were signs every where to take your valuables as they are not responsible for lost.
Does what it says on the tin. Clean. Tidy. Good location. Reasonable price. Does a breakfast but it stops at 9 bit early if you ask me. Close to the mall. Normal facilities that you would expect. Was more than happy with my stay.
Stayed here for two nights during our stay in Portland. Can't complain too much because the price was right and it is close to the mall and several restaurants and just down the way from downtown Portland. You can definitely tell this is an older motel from the exterior. No elevator so be sure to ask for a ground floor room if you can't do stairs. Our room was TINY! Almost tripped over the desk chair as we walked in the door and you need to turn sideways to walk between the bed and the tv stand. The bathroom was quite tiny as well with the door barely missing the toilet as you opened and closed it. Speaking of the toilet, it filled to the brim every time it was flushed and ran for a good minute afterwards. The property is very dark (no parking lot lighting) so I would have been hesitant to stay there alone without my husband. Overall, it worked for what we needed.
This is a pretty basic hotel, but it was clean, comfortable and quiet. There were little details in the rooms that could be improved, but overall it was fine for a place to sleep for a night. It is in a quiet location, and the beds were comfortable so you'll get a good night's sleep. Plus it is close to the malls and a short drive to downtown Portland. hard to find a better deal if you are looking to stay in or near Portland.
We stayed here on our way to Connecticut so we can take the kids to splash town, we were looking for a nice hotel with a decent rate, it was clean, beds were comfortable and looked modern. Only issue I had was the shower not enuff pressure. Staff was nice and polite
