I was refused a room when I got to the property because I had 2 small dogs and I was informed that they did not allow pets in their facility. I’m fine with that... I wish I would’ve known before traveling 20 minutes to get to their location. The desk clerk apologized and informed me at least twice or three times that he would not charge me because of the mix up and I left to find another hotel. I also went back on line to cancel my reservation with Expedia.com online later that evening (11/15/2019) which I was able to do. Imagine my surprise to find a charge for a room at the Dune Hotel last Friday after I was assured that I wouldn’t be charged. I got ahold of Expedia Customer Service to request a refund as it was them they had my credit card information. I was assured by the customer service representative that he would generate a refund request and that I would hear from someone within 24 hours. I got an email decline of my request. I responded with an explanation of the circumstances again, with a second email declining my refund request. I’m upset and feel like I’ve been taken advantage of and now robbed. If this is how this website operates than I will not use this company again and I will tell my story to whom ever will listen. This whole experience was terrible!!! I plan to call the hotel and talk with a manger and see if this situation can be resolved. If not than I’m going to the BBB and make a formal complaint.
