My family spent the weekend in a 3 bedroom apartment (Breakwater building). This building is towards the back of the resort and had it's own spa and pool. The apartment was a great size and well equipped. Only couple of faults was there were not enough towels (we just used the pool towels), one of the bedroom lights did not work and the master room bathroom sink was linking. Other then that we had a pleasant stay and would recommend this place to stay. The 3 different spas available were amazing. I was disappointed that the countryclub was closed due to renovations. Sandyfoot Cafe and Bar is the only one currently open. Another disappointing remark regarding my families stay is that my siblings had separate rooms/bookings fully paid prior to arriving and both were told it was not paid and they were to pay, however the manner in which they were asked to provide proof of payment was rude and uncalled for. Other than dealings with the reception at checkin we did not have any interaction with staff.
We were told to pay for the room upfront at the check in time even though it was prepaid at booking time. I had to pull out my bank statement from online banking to show the receptionist as she demanded the proof of payment instead of her checking their system. There are cups and glasses prepared in the room but they were all stained and greasy. Didn't want to use them at all. And I found an opened used milk inside the fridge which I don't even know how long it was sitting in there. Location is great but I don't think we will stay here again, there were some disappointing points and made us feel uncomfortable.
This place really has no faults, the rooms are spacious and clean. It is close to the beach and has several places near by where you can eat. Some of their own restaurants were going under refurbishment but that didn't impact the stay whatsoever. The only thing that stopped this place from getting a better rating was that they had a wine salesperson at the door of the reception who was trying to sell membership to a sister company which was a bit over the top and not something we wanted to approached about on a relaxing weekend
Very relaxing hotel,rooms clean & tidy we had a fully self contained unit with water views well presented. Not a lot of action in Shoal Bay if that is what you want long walks are good, Not a great variety of Restaurants but enough for a good feed.Only had 1 lift operating as the other was being replaced a little problem but not dramatic adult pool & spa nice & relaxing. In summary a nice place to stay to rest up
Spacious comfortable room with open area overlooking the Bay and the beautiful scenery of Shoal Bay. The reception staff were very helpful but we didn't receive any room service over a six night stay. The renovations were a bit of a problem with a lift service on its death bed. Otherwise all good and would go again.
I loved the location and the views. I liked the layout of the rooms. I was a little surprised that the room was not made up each day, but didn’t mind, because we could get new towels from reception. I was disappointed that the room did not have a plunger for coffee. I didn’t realise that we should bring our own shampoo. I should have read the fine print.
Our room was in need of a bit of work .Holes in curtains ,Rangehood smelt very musky ,They were doing work on the lift when we were there and hallways and lifts and ground foyer needed a good clean. We had to evacuate room,staff were very slow to inform guests on what was going on,not all guests evacuated building which didn't appear to worry staff.cleaning staff were friendly . view was nice .
We just came back from our two-Night stay at Ramada Resort Shoal Bay, we booked three-bedrooms apartment through Groupon. Overall it was a very pleasant stay, the apartment was spacious and facilities in the apartment were sufficient, had everything we need for. The only drawback I wished to point out was the free-wifi. Actually no free wifi in the room, we were given the wifi password when we checked in, however it did not work inside the apartment. Other than that we were very happy. Thanks for the great apartment. We will go back again in the future.
We had a lovely, large two bedroom apartment in the Breakwater building. Added bonus of having our own building's private pool and spa. There were two other pools and spas to choose from so impressed with the facilities offered. There had been some building work in the past but it had mainly finished and did not bother us and the lifts were working ok. Some renovations to the Shoal Bay Country club which is currently closed and will re-open in December 2017. Would like to see what hat has to offer later on when we come back at a later date. Apartment was clean and well appointed. No complaints. Great views from large deck/balcony over Shoal Bay as we were on first floor. Got the sun all day and we had a lovely large private balcony. Great location right next to the beach. If weather not good you have the indoor pool/gym and spa area but it was lovely to use our outside facilities. Secure parking. Bit strange having to walk through the car park from the pool to the apartment but no problem. Large resort area. Staff friendly and helpful when I lost one of the room keys and the gave me a new one. Easy, safe and convenient parking. Very quiet and peaceful especially at night. My 87 year old mother loved it and had a restful stay. The whole resort was quiet and almost deserted as early November is not a busy time so I can't say what it would be like peak holiday season/school hols. Some cafes were closed on the front so felt a bit off season which was fine. I also noticed people with children in the indoor pool/spa area in the time that was dedicated to adults only so the pool times and conditions should be made clearer. Only negatives were because of the renovations of the Country Club you could hear building work and drilling every now and then. Also strange to walk through the car park every time coming and going from the pool area. My 87 year old mother found the resort large and confusing layout would have not found her way around it without me showing her the way. She had a lovely relaxing time though so was a minor complaint.
Greeted by trainee who did not have knowledge of the rooms then to be told the two bedroom room for four adults and they could only supply us with one key. Having only one key when you leave the other couple in the room, and take the key with you they now have no power as you need a key to a access the lift to leave the the building and to access the pool and spa area so this means we had to be together at all times ridiculous. We arrive in our room to find Putrid carpet with human hairs in it stains all over it. No safe in the room, the dead bolt does not work information book had someone's scribble in it and I am sure plenty of information missing. Very disappointed had to demand a second key to be told they don't have enough very unprofessional will not return and will tell as many friends not to come here.
