The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort

We stayed here for two days skiing at Shawnee Mountain resort. Staff was welcoming and friendly and incredibly accommodating. The first night of the room next to us was incredibly loud and we asked to switch rooms which they did. Once we switched rooms I realize that I could hear absolutely everything at all times in the hallway and the two rooms on the side. It is a lovely hotel very charming and again the staff could not have been more accommodating. I would just suggest that there need to be upgrades on noise reduction. Again we absolutely love the hotel and the staff it's just impossible to sleep at night or even to have any privacy. I literally could hear the couple next to us snoring and farting through most of the night that's something I can never unlisten to....

Pros: Friendly staff, nice view , beautiful location Cons: rooms needs to be update, wallpaper peeling and tub has some rusty spots

A grand hotel along the banks of the Delaware River eminiscent of the early 20's. Many family friendly options. A pool and spa. Great hikes, fishing, golf, tennis, campfires complete with marshmallows - even turn down service with cookies. The grounds include two golf courses - one for family fun and one for serious golfers. A craft beer brewery resides on the property - tours and tastings are available. The owners are working hard to renovate the Inn back to its glory days. Every guest that visits can feel good about helping to restore it back to its organial grandeur.

Wonderful Location. Close to the highway but once there it feels like you are in mini paradise. The employees are all very helpful and accomdndating. I look forward to our next visit so we can enjoy the activities such as golf, fishing even toasting marshmallows.

The staff at the hotel all seemed like they hated their jobs. We were so disappointed that we left a day early. When checking out the manager did not even ask if there was a problem - he was more concerned about getting the room rented out again. However, the golf club and staff are great. So was The Gem & Stone restaurant. Very friendly and accommodating. It was like two different places. That was why we stayed at the hotel. We always had such a good experience with the golf course and Gem & Stone that we assumed the same friendly, accommodating service would be in the hotel...wrong.

We stayed for 2 nights in February for a kids ski trip to Shawnee Mountain. If you are looking for luxury this hotel is not for you as the rooms are very small and in need of a major renovation. Luckily that didn't bother us as the rest of the hotel is very nice and has old world charm. The pool area for the children is excellent, the staff are very helpful and the scenery and the grounds are very nice. Don't expect too much with your room and you wont be disappointed.

We did Yoga, Golf and Kayaking right from the hotel and within a few minutes were able to hike on the Appalachian trail and other hiking trails. Hotel is in a great, beautiful location.

was shocked that all rooms didnt have a little fridge and a microwave ice machine was broke also. they charge a fifteen dollar resort fee for the pool and other ammenities even if you dont use any of them.I was shocked. the restaurant and bar in the inn was closed at seven.the only thing we liked, was the pub at the end of the property.no continental breakfast either.

We spent only one night in the hotel and didn't have the chance to go to the pool. It was a pleasant stay. We liked the lobby with the fire, the piano and the shop where we could take coffee and pastries.

pleasant, courteous staff very comfortable beds quiet getaway

One word can describe the historic charm, location and experience. Quaint. I mean that in the most complimentary way. The view is incredible in the fall. The hotel walls are seeping with the memories of past guests. Believe it or not, i am not an overly sentimental person. I enjoyed my experience. There are far nicer, more modern places to stay but for the $100 we spent and for the location and relaxing atmosphere, it was unparalled.

My Niece was married by the river on Saturday. Was a great place for the ceremony, and we had a perfect day! The pavillion by the river was a perfect place to hold the reception as well. Staff was attentive, and curteous, food excellent, the grounds were perfect for playing frisbee, tossing a football, badminton, etc!!!!

Beautiful, quant hotel in gorgeous setting in gorgeous area. Staff at the Buckwood (within the hotel) was delightful. Great coffee and breakfast sandwich offerings.

The hotel staff is very nice. Location is nice. Good for couples or business trip. Enjoyed my staff very much. [...] at the front desk is delightful.

Beautiful location. Excellent service. So willing to accommadate you. We think our room was haunted, my infant couldn't sleep and a few other things happened that were very strange.

We enjoyed our trip very much. It was a very easy trip from Manhattan - less than 90 minutes. The golf course was in perfect condition and offers a range of difficulty for every golfer with its 3 courses, each having 9 holes. 24 of the 27 holes are on an island that only houses the course. The scenery was amazing - we saw a nesting bald eagle at the T of the 3rd hole of the blue course. We saw it perched in the tree 3 times during our visit. We also saw baby deer on the course several times. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. There are numerous activities outside of golf, like rafting on the Delaware River and swimming in the summer and skiing in the winter. I would like to plan my next visit very soon. I would stay away from the hotel restaurant, however. The food was very below average. However, the restaurant at the entrance of the hotel, Sam Snead's, had much better food and was just as convenient.

I stayed at the Shawnee Inn for July 4th weekend. I booked a queen size room in the Delaware lodge. The rooms were extremely small and the walls were very thin. The bathrooms were very small as well. If I visit this hotel again I would have to stay in a suite. The staff was friendly and they called 10 minutes after I first got in the room to see if my expectations were met. The Inn is great for golfers, those that want to to do water activities. The location was great and being right on the river was relaxing.

I ejoyed my stay however it was a bit expensive and extremely isolated from the major area which was something I found inconvenient but overall my stay was enjoyable.

However, I am so sorry to hear about your experience with the hotel staff, that is certainly not the impression we want to give our guests.
