the buffet food is not good. ac didnt work correctly

This resort is filthy -the platinum upgrade is a scam AND do not fall for the Royal Holiday scam onsite !

The amount of pools was great and temperature in pools was cool which was nice. Never over crowded and always refreshing. A lot of restaurants and overall good food. The people were nice. Spa was good. Shows and entertainment was good as well. Only disappointment was the condition of the beach with all the seaweed. This resort needed to have proper equipment to keep it cleaned up, it was unswimable, however, Resort next door was keeping their beach front and waters clean.

the property is fine and nice but the beach was ver bad a lot of seaweed

This resort far exceeded any of our expectations especially for the price. We booked two Jr suites and they were very luxurious. Great selection at the buffet and plenty of specialty restaurants you can make reservations at. I especially recommend their french restaurant. There were plenty of things to do during the day to 2am. We booked many tours but actually wish we spent more days at the resort itself. Highly recommend.. can't believe there are negative comments.

My stay at Grand Riviera Princess was excellent! The whole staff is very friendly and everyone around the hotel was always trying to make our stay great, and we felt very well taken care of. However I only have one little tiny complain, which is the food in the buffets. Is good, but I would of rather seen more mexican cuisine since we are traveling to Mexico to eat and enjoy their culture and what they have to offer. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to have a peaceful vacation.

They collect sea weed off the beach and dump it along the road guests use to walk / shuttle to the main lobby. Smells are terrible. Food at buffet restaurants was very greasy and basic. Evening restaurants were not good either. Only Hibachi did not disappoint (paid additional $50 for a lobster tail). Steakhouse meat was horrible.

It was nice and spacious! Different pool area options which was nice. The buffet food was a downside here and the frequency of the carts which took a long time and we were late to our reservations even though we left 15-20 mins prior. Another downside is the beach due to all the seaweed and rocks.

Resort is about at least an hour away from the airport. Upon arrival ask about additional charges to your room 4 USD for marine life tax. Oscar told us the wrong pick up times for the excursions so make sure to double check the times! We spent 4 days and 3 nights but we were unable to book the Chinese food show. We made reservations at Olas, the steakhouse and the Mexican restaurant. Olas was good, the steakhouse was awful we had to walk out and Mexican was too spicy. Buffets, go at the beginning of the opening hours as the food does stay out which could have been what made me sick the 3rd night. We did notice one night that new bed sheets had a small drop of blood stain which was so tiny. Theater shows seemed like it was just for little kids. The trolly runs about every half hour. The beach was FULL of seaweed BROWN and smelly in mid June. Make sure to bring change for tips USD was perfectly acceptable. Native animals in the resort like the long tailed things and iguanas, birds, cats, and some mosquitos near the fountain areas. Wear sunscreen and reapply because you will burn 100% and pack a decent pair of sneakers to walk. We would probably not come back here because of the beach but it was very pleasant and the staff was very nice.

I loved that this property was huge. There were 12 pools, 3 or more swim up pools and close restaurants. There are 2 types of all inclusive I learned. One all inclusive excluded the Chill our bar, room service, spa, and a few other amenities. BUT for the price, it was still worth it. I would recommend this resort to anyone, single, married, or brining kids.

So we come to Mexico at least once a year to try out different resorts and areas of Mexico. This is our second trip to playa Del Carmen, and most likely our last. We were sent an email stating that we would have “VIP check in”, sounds great! Well that VIP check in took about 45 minutes. Not to mention we got a silver wrist band that supposedly got more amenities and choices for food....sure would have been nice to know this before the day we leave! The room when we got to it was amazing. Very comfortable and exactly what we were looking for. We had a room with a pool swim out, which was very neat. We did not know this at booking but you cannot get to the pool bar from your swim out on the Riviera side but can on the Sunset side. These are to be secluded swim outs so you can enjoy your time in the pool without the walk. Well not to much, parents allowing there kids to jump in and out of the pool areas by our room as the kids go up on our balcony and try to go in our rooms. Please keep that in mind if you are not in eye sight of your room. After a day of relaxing we go back to the room and we have no power, called the front desk and was told to put the “key in the spot by the door and it will come on”, then hung up on before we could say we have already done that. Two hours later and 5 calls a gentleman showed up and said “its just the breaker”. We tried to explain that we understand that but it keeps popping. He shrugged his shoulders and left.

Grand Riviera has so much potential, but the number of cons are overwhelming. Firstly, everything is far including the rooms. Most places to eat are in the lobby which can be a 15 minute walk. And the shuttle operates every 20 minutes which makes for an annoying experience. The staff is rude, the worst staff I've dealt with in an all inclusive resort. However, i am happy that orbitz upgraded me to platinum, it gave me access to premium liquor which was a nice positive.

We stayed in the “platinum” section. This offers more amenities and perks that make it a more enjoyable stay. The a la carte restaurants were hit and miss. Some were great and others mediocre. Overall we continue to enjoy it (it’s our 3rd visit to this property in platinum).

beach needs more work with seaweed removal. otherwise everywhere was very clean and helpful staff. food and drink was also great. pool bars could stay open longer than they did.

Staff was very friendly and always helpful. Everything was kept clean and the property was beautiful.

Me gusto todo muy bien regresaria y lo tecomendaria

Dear guest,Thank you for your comments and the feedback about your stay.About seaweed the hotel has invested in tractors to remove seaweed from the shorelines of the property, however, we should note depending on the oceans currents it's not always an easy job, but we are doing our best
