Everything about our trip to this place was wonderful and we wish we could have stayed longer. I am so glad that I chose Parador Fuente De instead of staying in Potes, which looked very crowded when we drove by. 1. LOCATION - it is located right by the cable cars that take you up to Fuente De (a MUST DO if you're here). Apart from that, it has as its backdrop the gorgeous Picos mountains, which happened to be snowcapped when we stayed. 2. AMBIANCE - Mountain cabin ambiance was so charming and pleasant. There were animals walking around the vicinity of the property. 3. COMFORT - The rooms were well maintained and very clean. Plenty of extra pillows and blankets. Nice bathtub in the bathroom. 4. STAFF - They were all very friendly to us. No complaints here.

We loved this parador mainly because of its fantastic location. We had tried to book a superior room but none was available. We were told that this was because there is only one and that had twin beds while we preferred a double. We were pleasantly surprised by the smartly decorated and spacious room with the amazing view. It looked out onto to the fields at the back and up to the towering Picos. There were flocks of birds to watch circling above the peaks and the cable car going past. The cable car station is nearby and there was a good shop selling Picos souvenirs including walking sticks and fluffy slippers. The Parador also had a good walking stick for sale. Dinner was tasty and the service was excellent. I have severe food intolerances and they cooked me a special and delicious meal with no fuss or bother. But the most incredible aspect was the value for money, we booked a Gastro Amigos package(HB) for 131 euros! Well worth it and we would return.

Outstanding location for the beautiful building with very nice rooms. However, when you book with them directly and pay full fare, you feel disappointed when you are assigned the last room in the mile long corridor, while the more accessible rooms are given to bus groups which probably pay much less for the rooms. Management needs to get their priority right when treating customers. Shameful for the Paradores standard. Now let's see if the management come up with one of their standard pre-formatted answers about how important customer satisfaction is and so on...

The location is stunning and the hotel matches it for its quality and style. The whole property is just like a set from a 007movie. The cable car up to the mountain and the stylish lounges and furnishing. An amazing property with views to die for

A large group of around 30 people, we booked dinner and were told we all had to eat the same thing, or nothing, then we were allowed 2 choices only for starter, main course and sweet, all this after we had paid of course with nowhere else to go..!! Disgusting customer relations, only interested in money..!! Ordered a specific wine so they brought what they wanted to serve, not what we ordered..!! Avoid this place like it has the plague, not worthy of being a hotel..!!

We stayed three nights here, it's a fabulous location, spectacular views, our room was very comfortable, huge bed, peaceful and relaxing. We only ate in the restaurant one night, food was good, limited choice, good service. We were on a motorbike, the parking is good, and pretty level. Would happily return one day.

Great location, reception staff friendly and room was superb with fantastic views. Restaurant staff were sullen and food was awful. Plates were practically thrown on to the table. We should have stayed and eaten at hotel across the road for half the price.

We had a lovely welcome from the two ladies on reception and one of them even showed us to our room. The enclosed balconies give rooms a private sun lounge and we enjoyed sitting there with our books after our trip up the mountain on the very speedy and efficient cable car. However, choosing the menu of the mountains was a mistake - it turned out that several rather random dishes arrived together for the starter followed by an almost raw veal chop! The waitress was very helpful and offered to change the chop for something else - but it was a bit too late by then.

The setting really is stunning and we area aware that the style of hotel is more of a lodge, which is fine, we've stayed in chalet hotel when skiing and enjoyed them. We were really looking forward to our stay here but we badly let down by the food in the restaurant which was inedible and expensive and the attitude of the management and the clearly overworked and far too few staff. The rooms were very generous and a lovely balcony with fantastic views and we were very much looking forward to enjoying everything the the hotel had to offer. sadly disappointed with no way of getting any food at all between the hours of 4 until 8 when the restaurant opened apart from a bowl of 10 crisps with the drinks that we had after waiting near on 45 minutes to be served. We really wish we'd stayed in the village and driven up to the cable car for our wonderful walk. Management did not seem to care about our concerns with the meal.

Wow what a location. This Parador, looking like a typical alpine ski lodge in its appearance both inside and out. It is situated adjacent to the cable car that allows easy access to the glorious Aliva Circuit mountain top walk. The Picos de Europa range totally dominate the views in all directions. Loved the ambiance. décor, friendly staff and very comfortable spacious rooms. The dinner was somewhat chaotic with people arriving later getting served quicker and even finishing their meals before some of us had even had the starter. Our waitress was well aware of the situation and obviously suffering a minor nervous breakdown as a result. That said she still managed to retain a smile along with an apology. The food and wine were appreciated when at last they arrived. The buffet breakfast did not disappoint however, a wide choice of tasty hot and cold food was on offer with ample quantities of it available The Parador is best accessed through the lovely characterful town of Potes which offers retail and cultural therapy to those suffering withdrawal symptoms due to the tranquility that Fuente De supplies by the bucketful.
