My friends and I have stayed here many times we keep coming back for more! I have written before about the trustworthyness of the staff here. I went in March 17 with my mother who left her bag containing £100 in cash at the side of her bed. The money was untouched and still there afer 4 weeks!!! There are lots of good restuarants and shops literally outside the door making this a great location. Once inside the hotel the hustle and bustle of the road is left behind. Whilst the location is great the rooms are less so but still ok. There are many lovely hotels in great locations around the world but what makes this hotel stand out from them all is the service. The combination of european service standards and Thai traditional hospitality is outstanding, from the receptionists to the room staff not forgetting the pool boys and restaurant staff all of whom do their very best to make ones holiday the best it can possibly be. There are too many great staff to mention but I should mention Jarinee - the go to person for the staff and guests alike, Noom at the pool ablely supported by K, Kai the restaurant manger (check he is working before you book) the breakfast team led by X and not least Tu our room maid. I will be returning with my friends.
We stayed here for 10 days, lovely place and easy access to the beach etc. Room was lovely and so were the facilities. The problem is the hotel is on a road full of hungry sales people trying to sell you fake designer shirts and suits. You literally walk out the main gates and you are pounced on by men trying to sell you suits, shirts, anything basically. It got to a point were you just had to practically run down the street to avoid them. Otherwise the place is great, could do with getting rid of all the sales people outside!
We hadn't been here for several years, and returned with high expectations. It's still a very beautiful place, but it did feel a bit run down, not just from wear but from a certain lack of attention to the details that always used to be looked after. The restaurant is still the best on Phuket, and the wine cellar is amazing, but we left just a bit disappointed, which never happened before. I hear it's being renovated, and hope that cures the problems, because at its best this was an idyllic spot.
We stayed here for 2 weeks with 1 y.o. child. Hotel staff was very helpfull and smiling all the time. Hotel prepared baby equip that helped a lot. We are very happy that we have decided to stay there.
We loved it! Not the most touristic place on Phuket - which was great! - but staying here made our holiday complete. Walking out of our room, straight on to the beach. Staff incredibly kind and helpful. Beach clean, swimming pool okay, beautiful sunset! Suggestion for the hotel: a little bit more diversity on the breakfast side. After a couple of days it's too much the same.
Great spot. Negative was that people can smoke around the pool. I feel after the renovation that this should be concidered. The amount of mosquitoes in the area I think more preventions could be cinciderer, candles, coils, a fumigation maybe early evening. Really minor in the scheme of it all as we lived it here and will definitely be staying again. The service, the staff, the beds! Marvelous
Great hotel, great beach, great location, good food & friendly staff! We had a beach front room. I was disappointed to learn that it was on the second floor, rather than first floor where we could walk out right onto the beach. But, it actually made for a nice, romantic balcony & probably a better ocean view. They brought us fresh fruit & fresh flowers every day. Food was decent, perhaps overpriced. Service was SO slow for dinner & lunch. Our first night there, we were exhausted from travel & it took an hour to get our food after placing the order. They do not come by & offer refills, you have to flag someone down (although we found this to be the case throughout Thailand & Asia). Breakfast is the same exact spread each day, so we got pretty sick of it really quickly. Staff was otherwise very helpful & friendly. Laundry service was excellent here. I would absolutely stay here again & recommend it to my friends & family.
I am a returning customer of the hotel, came back after having spent a perfect weekend at Boathouse in 2015. Now came for a longer holiday with my son of 8. Excellent location (just at the beach!) is still there, and so are fantastic sunsets. Restaurant still offers very high quality dining, and extravagant wine selection. Most of the staff is nice and friendly. Certain things have changed for the worse though: 1/ the premises are crying for renovation, particularly swimming pool area and the terrace. Rooms too, are getting very worn out. Air conditioning is strong but very loud in the nights. 2/ quality of sunbed covers and beach towels is shocking. All so faded, not neat at all!! Not for that class of a hotel. 3/ beach area is not kept tidy, either. I did not quite figure out whether or not it was hotel's property (probably not) but for the comfort of guests some effort could definitely be taken to clean it at least from plastic debris. People are choosing the hotel mainly to enjoy the beach so why not to make it worth it!! 4/ breakfast is no longer at Re Ka Ta, where you could order your main course a la carte ... it is a very ordinary buffet at the main restaurant. Not bad either, just not special anymore. I read somewhere that hotel is closing for renovation later in the year. Hope it is indeed the case, and that the hotel will re-emerge as a truly unique place it used to be. Might consider returning one day then!
I loved my deluxe room but I could see from outside my patio that a lot of things could be done to make the hotel even nicer. I am not a pool person but I think a bigger pool would be really nice. Maybe I can enjoy it next time ...:)
We were impressed with service and friendliness of the staff from the time we checked-in to the time we checked out. They were very helpful on suggesting options when we wanted to visit the street markets in Phuket. They help arranged everything for us.
