1. How to get there? We chose to pre-book our transfer via booking.com GoAsiaDayTrip and were left very satisfied. Excellent service, very easy to arrange, prepaid no need to worry about cash arrangements upon arrival or departure, prompt, meet and greet available, drivers are polite and punctual and the best value for money. The two side transfer to Panwa costed us 1800 Bat. It’s a bit cheaper than airport taxi and the main advantage is that you do not need to share the wan with other travellers like with the transfer taken at the airport. 2. Upon arrival The cloud 19 is located in panwa, very quiet area populated mostly by muslin citizens. It is relatively more safe and cosy than other Phuket areas. There are few constructions going on sides on this hotel but nothing laud or bothering. At the reception we met very pleasant people who accommodated us at no time. The hotel doesn’t have elevators and is not one main building. We had to actually claim 3 abrupt floors every time we were going to the room and even been in good physical shape I should say it does take an effort. Wherefore, this might not be convenient option for obese or older travellers. 3. Hotel room Pleasantly clean and confortable, made in white color with kitchen and bar, comfortable bed, rain shower, tv, ac and ventilator. This room seems to predict any expectations of well-travelled visitors. Spacious wardrobe has a fen and safe in it. Ladies can enjoy a nice makeup table and the most amazing is the idea to put a bath top on the terrace. The view from the terrace was to the sea and partially garden, palm trees. It was nice to relax on the terrace after the dinner and read before the sleep. 4. Hotel Facilities It is not a big property, about 12 rooms, one restaurant, two swimming pools (some rooms have direct access to the infinity pool located behind the reception building). Gorgeous pool and grass area with chezlongs by the sea and the beach area which is common for few hotels on this shore. Very quiet and also we were the only guests for most of the stay, it felt as if we had it all for our selfs 5. Dining Separate thanks go to the Chef and the restaurant staff. Breakfast was fresh and all we needed. Eggs were done so creamy that it melted in the mouth. Fruits, fresh coffee and some bakery items all were of good taste. Coming from Dubai we are spoiled for choice of best of the best restaurants of any cuisine really. It was indeed great to dine in that restaurant every day. The service was very attentive and the dishes all were excellent, from tom yam goon soup to noodles, rice and even fish & chips (which were better than ones we had in London) . on our last night staff offered us to pick the seafood products we wanted from the fish market nearby and Chef cooked if for us at the coking fee of 300 Bat or 8 $ … Chef not only grilled for us our fish he made proper dishes our of the products we brought. Amazing octopus salad, fish baked in leaves with lemon grass, and of cause prawns served with chili sauce – it was outstanding! 6. The beach however is not for swimmers and sea lovers. We read about rocky beach prior to travel so we didn’t try to swim in the sea and few days later there was a storm coming, water line went back and the rocks covering all shore surface were unveiled. If you intent to swim at least take the snorkeling shoes on. Unfortunately the beach is dirty and daily new trash is brought by the sea to shore. At Cloud 19 I saw them cleaning the area but other hotels don’t as a result the whole beach looks nasty and requires attention of local community. 7. The Spa When I was arranging my stay I couldn’t fine enough information on cloud 19 services. While staying there we had 2 massage sessions and both were very good. Thai massage combination with oil relaxation or hot herbal pots. The prices start from 400 bat for shoulder massage and the 90 minutes treatment cost 8. Activities around There is nothing much to do on phuket comparing to Bangkok or pataya. There are two big shopping malls for amateurs, an aquarium and a Chaithararam temple. To reach to these locations you need to either take and taxi or land a bike. The taxi will cost you from 800 to 1500 bath depending where you need to go. The bike is 300 bat per day. To take a taxi or hire a bike you will need to go out for the hotel from the main gate, turn to the right and walk for 1 minute. You will see a small accurate kiosk with sigh taxi, bike rental and tours. It’s is a small agency handled by a family, very nice people and considering level of crime in Thailand I was pleased to feel safe taking a ride from them. They also sell tours to Phi Phi and James bond islands if you like. Overall: Cloud 19 and its surroundings is a perfect destinations for couples, relaxation and getting a piece of mind in the tranquil atmosphere of abrogation from life routine. We were looking for a relaxed holiday and we got it. And in case you were wondering if I was a paid reviewer – I am not . I am a very experienced traveller, I ve been to many countries from Australia, Japan to Europe, USA and I simply enjoyed my stay at Cloud 19.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, the private beach is nice but you can't really relax on the beach cause there are loads of crabs running about. The hotel itself is amazing though and very quiet. The restaurant is very expensive. I paid 300THB for a small plate of chips which is the equivalent to £7 and then they add a service charge to bring your food to your table which I found ridiculous. Other than the expensive restaurant and the fact that they didn't clean our room properly for 2 days, it's a really nice and relaxing hotel
One of the most beautiful properties we have ever seen on an ideal site with breathtaking sunsets and water views ... the spa is fantastic and the Lainape restaurant serves fresh, delicious western and Thai food with a wonderfully attentive and helpful staff ...
Great place to take it easy. Rooms modern spacious and clean. Staff all friendly. A short beach walk to reach bars restaurants and massage parlours. Food great but a little more expensive than restaurants near by.
It's a tiny hotel with spacious rooms located in picturesque harbour. Perfect place to relax, forget about troubles and spend some time on your own. The beauty of the beach is breathtaking and impossible to forget.
The setting and room were so gorgeous we felt we were truly in our own peace of paradise. My husband and I were, regrettably, quite ill when we arrived and we could not have had a better place to rest and recuperate from whatever nasty bug we picked up. The beach could be improved by a morning sweep and this is not a good place to dip in the ocean because it is rocky. Food service and quality was a bit spotty but overall very good except for the fettucini bolognese which was vile. There are some excellent bars and restaurants within a short walk along the beach. We'd go back in a heartbeat.
The hotel is quite far and remote from anything else. Very quite beach. (you cannot swim in the sea!) so thats wonderfull if you are in search a of quiet place! Room is nice clean spacious and stylish! Bed is perfect (all trough we asked for an extra blanket). Amazing view nice swimming pools! Breakfast is good for a 4* hotel. -------- Food is way way too expensive. Walk down the beach and get food at "at the beach" (second one you will pass on you're right hand side) Massage is way overpriced you pay 1/2 at one of the massages along the beach. WiFi.. Well it works and disconnects sometimes.. There is (was) a big sign at the beach which tells: "ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR, BUY 1 COCKTAIL GET 1 FREE" so after ordering 2 cocktails they say happy hour is 5 till 7 and right away they removed the beach sign. Offering me nothing... Also staff speaks poor english. Left and right of the hotel is a lot of construction work for building new hotels. (you will not hear it) Beach is messy with glass.
My friend brought me there after a long ride in light rain. It was beautiful from a distance especially when we came down from a steep slope to reach the front of the restaurant area. We're impressed by the pool but surprisingly there's no other patrons. As we walked to the canvas pavilion and started ordering drinks the reality began to surface. Mosquitos came in swarm and the menu looks more like that of a luxurious hotel. The waiter didn't seem to know what we want. We then moved indoor to avoid mozzie attacks but futile. The aircond was off with doors wide open. The mosquito hazard peesisted and we quickly finished our drinks and left. Moral of the story, it's for your eyes only not for use.
This is a great 4 star hotel for a super relaxed stay. If you just want to spend a vacation doing nothing more than enoying the pool, the beach and great views this is the place to be. We had a few very calm days. We had a very nice room with a jacuzzi on the private terrace. The staff is very friendly, they dont always notice everything but once you point something out they will try their best to fix it. Big variety of great food (thai and western) against a fair price you can find further down the beach, at night with live music.
Firstly let's begin with the location. Cloud 19 is located in the South of Phuket, so far South that it takes over an hour and a half to get there from the airport. You'd think after such a long drive that you would be rewarded with a hotel that really does do its photos justice however this is not the case. Upon arrival we were shown 2 rooms, both overlooking the sea. The first we turned down as it was more of a view of the back of the reception building which was in much need of a lick of paint. We chose second as it had a good view of the sea, be it slightly far away. The room was basic but it was clean however for the price that we payed it would have been nice if the lights in the bathroom actually worked. The bathroom was very nice with a bathtub that had a lovely sea view. The sunset was also very beautiful. The Beach. Don't let photos fool you, the beach was dirty, littered with glass and rubbish. There is also a lot of construction work going on as there a couple of new hotels being built which look like they could be nice when completed. The Food. A bit like the bedroom, very basic, if you're a foodie this place isn't for you. That said if you walk down the beach there is a little beach bar that serves decent Thai food and fresh fish for a reasonable price. The pool was nice, well maintained and the sun lounger area was also nice with good views of the sea. However the toilets by the pool had a lot of bugs in and were also out of toilet paper. Our advise, don't stay here. It's below average and nothing special. It's expensive to get to around as it's so far away from everything and not nice enough so that you don't want to leave.
