Super 8 Phoenix Mesa Gilbert Road

2.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

On one of the main streets of the town. Close to highway and airport

The hotel in general was very dated and the continental breakfast choices were very limited. Coffee was good although the cups were very small if you wanted to take on the road. Selected hotel because of easy access from highway, proximity from Mesa airport since arrived at 10:30 PM, and price was not lowest option but at bottom of range. Reception area looked more like a back office than a first impression and welcome area for guests. For price I expected more out of the hotel for general appearance, room comfort, and breakfast. At the end of the day I did get to sleep several hours before leaving early in the morning.

Ac didnt work in my original room, so i moved rooms to a smoking .... it was so heavy of nasty stale smoke but i had ac at least, all my clothes smell like it when i got home. Very run down and pictures must of been from when it opened because it looked nothing like it....

The website pre-selected a smoking room (i did not realize). When I arrive the room smell as if I had an ashtray in may face. I requested a non-smoking room, but the staff was rude and said that the reservation was for a smoking room, that I had to pay for another room. I left the hotel, my reservation was for two nights, and they did not refund me ANY nights. Orbitz left me hanging on this situation. Abusive Hotel, don't stay there

Very dirty hotel and the elevator barely works also very poor breakfast

Really good price for last minute reservation. Very comfortable and cozy would definitley stay there again.

I arrived very tired and had no problems getting checked in and the room was clean. I could smell cigarette smoke in the hall way but not in my room which was great it was a real none smoking room. I was able to park my semi truck with out a problem.

I have stayed here before, and it is just "okay". The convenience of the location is that it is very close to my daughter's apartment. The neighborhood is about average. The hallways on the second floor smell really bad, very musty and I wonder how management can permit that to happen, when a rug shampoo may solve the problem. Due to low prices and location, the hotel can attract undesirables, but no one bothers me. If you're looking to save money and won't be in the room very much, this is a good deal.

room was clean but needed a paint job and some deep cleaning. Overhead light had a bunch of dead bugs in it, but the room was acceptable. Third time we stayed at this property.

Hotel is in bad shape. Overpriced. Below quality staff. Uncomfortable pillows. Would look elsewhere before staying here again.

Front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating with the exception of granting late check out request in advance. Complimentary breakfast was good. Room was small--no closet. Air conditioning unit was mounted too high for me to see the controls. Bed was very comfortable. Slept well with the exception of the noise of the vacuuming from the hallway in the morning, which was pretty loud and could easily be heard over the air conditioning. Amenities were all in good working condition-nice size refrigerator with freezer. Room was clean. Little disappointed that when I asked the housekeeper if it was too late for service, she wasn't too happy(not rude, tho)--so, just asked her for clean towels. The couple next to me hadn't rec'd housekeeping service either, so I directed them to the housekeeper down the hall. Their room got cleaned. Other than that, the stay was good and I was satisfied with my visit. The hotel is located right off the freeway and that was helpful.

good pool was very clean the free breckfast was great

Great experience with comfortable beds. Little pricey for a super 8.

We were disappointed to find the hotel had no shuttle service at all. The breakfast was adequate, but tables were not cleaned between patrons. The desk clerk did clean up fro the breakfast room.

My fiance and I were down in Arizona for a wedding, booked a nonsmoking hotel the night before. We loved that there was no sense of smell for cigarettes, really clean room, comfy bed along with fluffy pillows.

After reading some of the reviews, I thought this might be a "grin and bear it" type of place, but I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was good value for the money, and my complaints are fairly minor, and to be expected with a place in this price range. The pool fills up quickly when families are staying, as does the breakfast area. The a/c has no digital temperature control and will run all night, but if turned off, the room will stay cool for a few hours. The location is right off of US 60, and the only problem is in making a left turn onto Gilbert, as traffic can be heavy at certain times of day. The bed was better than in many places I've stayed in this price range. All in all, much better than expected.

I liked it very much. Breakfast was very good and the staff friendly.

It was nice that the pool was open in February but the entire time we were there it was not cleaned once. It was ok, nothing great by any means. It seemed that there were many people who were living at the motel. There tended to be a "smoking" smell from the non smoking floor, so I don't know how well they enforce that rule. I saw people checking in and they were paying much more than I did, if I did pay the rate that others paid I would have been very upset because it was NOT worth what the others where paying.

It was convenient to the highway, but overall it was what you'd expect from a Super 8. My favorite part of our stay was when the toilet overflowed in our room.

We have used this location 2 or 3 times over the last few years and always had a good stay.
