Beautiful pool area. Beds are comfortable and room was very clean. This was my second time staying here and I would highly recommend this hotel.

Overall this Marriott is a great place. Close to many activities, beautifully set pools, and nice views. Price of food was average though the price of room service was excellent as the surcharge was less than a dollar on each item. I wish we had made it to the main restaurant but maybe another time. There are a few areas they could improve. The doors to the rooms are HEAVY and when people let them go they slam hard and shake the walls for a few rooms down. That drove us nuts. Think they need a sign asking people to slowly shut the doors. Lastly the look of the shutters are nice but when the sun starts to rise at 5:30am it makes it very hard to sleep. This was the first hotel not to have blackout curtains I have ever stayed in. Overall we would probably stay there again if anything because of the proximity it the things we do there.

Very, very noisy. The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking the freeways and the airport. Non-stop noise even with the windows closed. I'm sure the poolside rooms are a lot better, and the pool deck is quiet, but take note if you want a 'quiet' peaceful stay this isn't the place to go. I've stayed at two Marriot's this fall and they have really gone downhill. The rooms are feeling dated and a little dingy, and have that musty-smoky (even in a non-smoking room) smell to them. I opened the window for fresh air and that helped. The hallways, pools, restaurants, conference center, and grounds are very very nice, however. I did enjoy the location outside of my room. Saul (bartender) is amazing. Best part of my stay was chatting with him and hanging out in the lobby bar. Wi-Fi is not free and since I booked through orbitz, I couldn't take advantage of a free Marriot Rewards Account to gain wi-fi access. Super bummer. It's nearly $12/day for wi-fi. Be prepared for that; though I think this is a Marriot thing and pretty common. There is a 22% service charge for room service plus an additional $4.00 charge, and the receipt additionally asks for tips. Be prepared for that, it's expensive and some of the meals are not up to that price. (That said, the Southwest Chopped Salad is amazing). There are no vending machines (only soda/water and the water was out) so don't go looking for snacks late at night. It's not happening.

Really unique setting. Beautiful architecture and surroundings.

I loved the way this hotel was surrounded by rugged rock the staff was very nice and helpful lots to do with the pool , tennis, hikeing, volleyball, or just relaxing.

First, let's be clear that this is a very nice hotel with an exceptionally courteous staff. It's located near the airport, if that's convenient to you. What kills me is the lack of all-inclusiveness. EVERYTHING costs. It's $10 a night to park. They charge you for internet (I don't know how much because I tethered my phone). This is a Marriott, not a Best Western. That said, I can't emphasize enough how great the staff here was. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel has one of the nicest pool areas I've ever seen, and a nice spa as well. I'm just so annoyed at the ala carte pricing that I can't give it any more than 3 stars.

We enjoyed the pool and breakfast buffet! The second day, we discovered food smashed into the carpet and on the wall. Gross. We ended up just laying towels on the carpet so we would not step in it. It wasn't bad enough to move rooms.

If you're looking for a great place to stay central is everything this is the place

Staff was great, hotel was great, definitely will be back!

everything was great except the pillows.... very soft bring your own

This place is hard to beat. Get pampered in practically any way you desire. Definitely a 5 STAR experience. Staff was really great!

Traveled to Phoenix for a wedding, which was at the Phoenix Marriott Tempe at the Buttes. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was great! Love the pool. Definitely enjoyed my stay.

When we checked in we were told we had a special air filtration system in our room. Apparently this system was pumping in mustiness, as our room smelled stale. This may have been due to the fact that when we first went to our room there was a workman in the hall outside trying to deal with what he said was a leaking A/C problem. He said he was nearly done. It continued to leak after her left, with the hotel's solution being to place a number of buckets under the seeping ceiling. Then there was a major rain storm. Not much the hotel can do about that, but the facility is built on a hill side and the rain washed silt from the hill side into the pools, making them unusable for our entire stay. Surely there is some sort of subsidence protection that can be installed around where the hillside meets the pool area to minimize this situation. When I voiced my concerns with the aforementioned issues at checkout I was essentially told that there was nothing could be done. I was hoping for more consideration, like perhaps a free night, or something. Not that I have any interest in returning. A huge, huge rip off at $120 a night. A disgrace for part of the Marriott family.

The Marriott is up on a butte and provides a wonderful oasis. The pool was amazing the staff friendly. And our massages at the spa were sublime. The breakfast buffet was delicious, complete with omlette bar. We had a wonderful stay and hope we can come back soon and stay longer.

Hotel getting dated. Lots of steps. Staff really nice.

One of the best hotel experiences I've had in years.

The pool is wonderful for families. Lots of kids around. The breakast buffet had fantastic food. The front desk staff wasn't very customer service oriented. They debated the purchase I made of a buffet when I made the reservation rather than just accommodating me when I showed proof. I requested a crib, didn't receive it nor the newspaper they offered to bring. Little things, but annoying in a 4-star resort.

The resort is beautiful. The swimming pools are awesome. They could use a few more waiters/waitresses to help in the pool area. Took a little bit of time to be served. It would be fantastic if they had curtains for window coverings. Not too excited to have the sun shining bright in the room before 6am.

My only concern would be for anyone in a wheelchair might have some difficulty. Other than that, I was looking forward to a nice dinner in their Top of the Rock and it was closed for a private wedding. Very disappointing to only have the Market Cafe for dinner because clearly it is only intended as a "CAFE".

Beautiful place, high price, very nice restaurant at the top. The room was nice just not stand out at that price
