It is pretty run down and smells like smoke, I think with some work there is a lot of potential

Staff pretty friendly. But a sketchy element to the place. Back building is better.

they should say on their website that they dont have any roll-away beds. the toilet kind of rattled when you sat on it. like it wasnt secured to the floor properly. the faucet in the bathroom wasnt great either. we kept having to get our keycards reset. but it wasnt bad. the beds and blankets were fine. the attendants gave us plenty of towels and soaps and stuff. (we were 5 girls in one room.) they didnt charge us for the fifth girl, even though they must have known she was there because i asked about the roll-away bed. the front desk people were always cheery and funny and made an effort to greet you.

The hotel is located in an older, rather seedy looking area, but was convenient for our trip. the decor is pretty cool. The staff was beyond awesome. The pool area was great. The rooms were fine, not fancy but not bad.

We would have rated this hotel higher but for a few issues to include one room smelling like smoke and a water pipe burst before our arrival. The water was restored and our room was sprayed that smelled of smoke. The pool was excellent, the breakfast had lots of selections. The hotel had very friendly staff who all spoke to us throughout our stay. We really liked the decor in the elevators and the drinks in the lobby.

I would not recommend this hotel. While the staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel rooms needed a good scrubbing and the area around the hotel didn't feel safe after dark. Outside of the hotel, there was a homeless man pushing a shopping cart and a young teen on a bike leaned up against the front of the hotel. If you're looking to get a new tattoo and cash your check early, then you've found your hotel. When I checked into my room, I found dated furniture, a door to an adjoining room and a urine splattered toilet seat. I don't need a luxury hotel, but I did expect clean and safe. I didn't feel like Hotel 502 hit either of those.

If you're 18 and on spring break, this might not be he worst place to stay.

This is a mixed review. The hotel has recently undergone a renovation which is still underway, and the pool was being restored so unavailable for the long holiday weekend. Breakfast was okay if you like starch, although the fresh cut melon was very nice. My room was a deluxe king. Bed & pillows clean and comfy. Fridge, microwave and Keurig in the room. Bathroom nicely updated and fluffy towels. But the desk had no lamp and no place to plug in my laptop, so I worked on the bed or in the lobby. Wish there were towel bars and an option to reuse towels (if you tend toward green). However, EVERY STAFF MEMBER greeted me, held the door open for me, asked me if I needed anything, and wished me a nice stay. I have never had this kind of personal contact in any hotel, ever. Iced tea and iced water in the lobby were wonderful - I forgot how dry it is in Phoenix. The location is actually good. The light rail is right across the street, or it's right on Camelback and very close to Central. Only 10 miles to downtown Scottsdale. BTW, you can drive out thru the back parking lot to get to 7th street which is sometimes easier than making a U-turn on Camelback if you need to go east.

I had to talk my way into getting my money back for the last two nights, and paid full price for the night I had to stay. Was not very happy that the hotel was not at all to the quality that it was advertised.

The room I got was ok, stuffy smell throughout the halls. I encountered four staff members and two of em were great. Peelow and the lady working the evening shift was awesome everyone else didn't acknowledge you. But hey you get what you pay for. Best part about the hotel is the LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!! Train ride away from Tempe once you get there 5 dollar Uber ride away from Scottdale

noisy neighborhood. hotel is getting remodeled extremely clean but ugrades were weirdlike sloppy painting and carpentry work. bed was great.

this hotel could be awesome... but it not very clean.

We were put in a room that was clearly not properly cleaned. There was a q-tip under the desk, pieces of chips and a cigarette butt on the side of the bed and sunflower seeds on the pillows. The last straw was when we saw a cockroach run behind the bed. We went down and asked for another room. We were then put in the other building which they called a more modern look but it just looked unfinished with the cement floors. The two people I dealt with at the front desk were extremely nice and accommodating but that in the only good thing I can say about this hotel.

The Lobby and Pool Area was nice although at night the pool area was almost pitch black at night. The Jacuzzi did not work properly. The halls of the hotel were hot. The continental breakfast was good. The room was not ok - My sheets were not clean and we asked the Lobby for housekeeping and clean sheets. When I returned from my outside activities, I noticed the sheets were not changed and I notified the staff. I was told housekeeping went home and I eventually had to settle for asking for clean sheets and changing them myself. My room phone also was not working.

Very good location just few miles from great canyon university. The family trip was awasome. Very good in clineness.

Tris trip was nearly perfect and I would have loved it had it not been for the dirt on the floor. Worst of all, the flooring was not carpet it was linoleum flooring that made walking barefoot a bit too icky. If one is going to have that kind of flooring, make extra sure that the floors are well swept!

Clean hotel. Very trendy. I highly recommend it. I would stay here again

I hope this is helpful... When we arrived, the room's air conditioner was clearly yet being repaired b/c it was in pieces on the floor. We called to the front desk, and they of course apologized and quickly re-assigned us to a new room just down the hall. No big deal. (this is in their 400's wing - so the "remodeled" rooms). The rooms are ok - small and no frills, but what do you expect for the price? So room #2, things are OK. The shower the next morning won't stay hot. You will see in some other reviews the shower faucet handles are unique - they are, but you should be able to figure it out. Our shower wouldn't stay warm for more than 20 seconds or so. My sweetheart was no flower of the morning that day :(. Upon bringing it to their attention on our way out that day they were responsive and by the time we got back from our planned activities that day we had yet another new room. During this time I spoke w/the GM - Andrew is his name - and he was apologetic and gracious. He even gave us a $30 gift card to the Southern Rails restaurant a couple doors down. (good food). Room #3 was much better and things went generally as expected the rest of our trip. Some other comments: 1) The "breakfast" is pretty sparse - they basically run down the road to the grocery store and buy bagels and some fruit. If you're OK w/cereal and/or bagel/toast then OK. Don't be expecting a waffle iron or anything other than the most basics. 2) You'll see some reviews about the neighborhood. It's not in a bad part of town, but it's not as nice as East Camelback Rd either - if you want *nice* - don't stay here. 3) The staff was nice but they are clearly understaffed and the renovations are yet in progress (we didn't see any renovating in our 7 days there) 4) It's a value hotel - if you understand that, then go for it. Good luck

Property looks great. great friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel

The review said it was recently remodeled but it was hard to find the improvements. I will say the staff was nice and the pool was nice. The bed was comfortable as well. As for the rooms, we had to switch rooms several times, because there were no locks on the windows and the location wasn't the best part of town.
