lovely hotel, perfectly situated. on the edge of town, so quiet beaches but still in walking distance of restaurants and bars. very good breakfast, some stairs involved to get to the breakfastroom. beautifull gardens.

The Khaolak Laguna Resort was a very nice place to stay. Our room was big and in a good condition. The staff was lovely as you would expect in Thailand. The resort has a nice layout and a really nice garden setting. However, some details might need some attention for picky westerners to be fully satisfied. Don't get me wrong, everything that needed to be clean was and everything that needed to work did, but there were a few things that you would not expect, such as paint falling of the wall or dust webs on the high ceiling. Only thing that I'd really complain about was the service at the pool. The pool bar/restaurant was currently under construction, so you needed to walk to the main restaurant for every drink. That was pretty inconvenient and the hotel did not put staff on pool duty to take care of that for the guests. Food: Breakfast was very good, with a great variety, from fresh fruits and juices, to pancakes and waffles, egg cooking station and warm Thai meals, cheese and meat. We only had lunch once, which was ok, but the prices are much higher than outside. For dinner we went out every night. There are so many possibilities for good food in walking distance, there was no need for us to stay in the hotel. Spa: Our booking included a Thai massage for us both. It was good, but checking the prices with those outside, if not included I'd go to a place in town. Resume: We had a wonderful time, little things to improve on maintenance side. Food was good but expensive. We'll be coming back to Khaolak, maybe to the Laguna Resort.

The grounds were immaculate and buildings and villas complimented the landscape. The pool was clean and there were ample daybeds for all guests. We were upgraded from a twin hotel room to a beach villa which was a lovely surprise. Our villa was spacious and had a great view of the ocean; all are close to the pool. The bathroom was a more traditional style and dark but due to dark tiles not lack of light. There were flyscreens on the doors which let the sea breeze in and allowed us to avoid continually using the air conditioner. The bed was at the end of its lifetime, soft, underwhelming and in need of replacement. The breakfast buffet was delicious: cereal, soup, pastries, fruit, eggs, cheese, deli meats, a few hot dishes and a kopi stand where fresh teas and local coffee are made to order. The staff were beautiful and seemed happy working at the resort. Location was also great, on the edge of town but less than 5 minutes walk from all recommended restaurants. Majority of guests were German and French.

Beachside resort with imposing facade. Check in still asking for vouchers even when they have the online booking confirmation. More training needed here. Breakfast about average, plenty of choice and reasonable food. Service a bit patchy. Room is good ,comfortable bed. Seafront restaurant staff not on the ball. Poor service so I gave it a miss after one poor performance. Plenty of choice just across the road. All in all , overrated and overpriced and unless they smarten up their performance and offer a bit more service I see nothing special about Laguna.

As a multiple visitor to Thailand, this was my first experience of the all inclusive package. Usually B&B. What can I add to the excellent reviews, previously posted. A hotel, with a good overall standard. The service, food and facilities are of a very high standard. Possibly the best staff, I have ever encountered. Unable to single out anyone for an exceptional service as they are all equally superb. If you are looking for a truly relaxing break, then look no further. Khao Lak Laguna is first class.

Khoa Lak Laguna Resort 23 March - 7 April 2017 In our opinion, of the hotels we saw, this hotel is the best appointed in Khoa Lak , with exceptionally well maintained gardens and beach frontage. Sun loungers are good quality with cushions, parasols and fresh cushion covers daily. Two sets of beach towels are provided in your room, which you leave in the bath when you require clean towels. Also provided is a beach bag and two umbrellas for use during your stay. Wifi is patchy outside of reception but did work in our room, although at far end of the hotel beach, Sundowners and Oriental restaurants was constantly dropping out. All the staff without exception are very welcoming and attended to our needs. We would particularly like to thank Joy, Nownow, Hey and specially Euro and Sar. We would also like to thank Aew who cleaned our room during our stay. The Siam rooms are big, clean and well appointed, linen is changed on request and the room safe is big enough for SLR camera, iPads etc but not for a larger laptop. The bathroom is well equipped with large separate shower, bath with 2nd shower over and complementary shower gel, moisturiser, toothbrushes etc. The room mini bar is restocked daily with soft drinks, water and beer. The hotel has no lifts and hundreds of steps not a problem to us but could be a major issue for some. The beach is hard packed sand with some small stones and shells, however, beach shoes are not required and it's good for walking. The beach is very clean, gently shelved and no apparent strong current........ It's very much like a British beach. Leave your face mask and snorkel at home as there is nothing to see. Note; the waves are sometimes big but good fun. Around the hotel there is some wonderful wildlife, water monitor lizards, tilapia, frogs, skinks, birds and tree shrew's which look just like small brown squirrels. We were all inclusive. The food was either al a carte from a standard menu or daily varied buffet with Thai curries, prawns of all varieties, spring rolls, fish, grilled meats, noodles and the usual burgers, pizzas etc. Drinks included cocktails, some international and local spirits, beer etc. The overall feel of the hotel infrastructure rooms, beach front, spa, pool and gardens is upmarket and well presented with plenty of sun-loungers and a good beachfront drinks service. Hotel entertainment is 'low key' but odd ranging from Elvis tribute act when having a meal to piped US heavy metal and a tradition Thai band, all very uncoordinated in the Oriental restaurant? In the bar at night there is a piano player and a singer. None of it particularly to our taste but we were not looking for entertainment. Weather in late March / early April is hot 30+, however, most days it monsooned 'on and off' from circa 12:00 for 2 or 3 hours which at first is amusing but after 14 days becomes restrictive.... I guess this is what to expect in this part of the world. Unfortunately, the beach restaurant (Sundowners) was only open 3 times at night in 14 as no adequate provision for rainy conditions and needs to have more covered areas to be practical. My suggestion would be to move the bar to the adjacent massage area (why you need two round one pool is unclear to us) and turn the current bar to seating area. At lunch time, same issue, insufficient undercover space when it rained which was unfortunate and ruined to overall outdoor beach front experience. In the evening when Sundowners was washed out everything moved to the Oriental restaurant which was nice but not quite the same. Outside the hotel there are a number of restaurants which being all inclusive we did not try. There are shops which sell usual tourist stuff including clothing. There are a number of supermarkets which appear to be well stocked. Also there are shops who exchange currency. Would we come back to Thailand and this hotel...... yes but probably November to February which is apparently the dry season.

Great location , good beach and great gardens , great size rooms , dressing gowns, flip flaps , beach bags, good shamppoo etc in good bathrooms , umbrella outside all doors they thought of most things , candle lit meals by the beach daily , great food and attentative staff , couldn't expect any more, very friendly breakfast cooks , excellent omelettes Mo, thanks to all the brilliant staff . Good long beach for walking and swimming , taxis ready available for trips out , very good would go again , a hour and half drive from Phuket airport only downs side a bit out of the way when doing trips ,

Khao Lak Laguna All Inclusive Heaven We stayed here for two weeks from March 23rd. It was a celebration of my 70th for which the hotel provided an unrequested birthday cake! The hotel was rebuilt in 2005 in traditional style with lovely architecture and rooms. Our room 214 was great with tropical hardwood furnishing, a big bathroom with bath and walk in shower as you entered, and then into the room where we had a king size bed and a seating area. At the far end of the room double doors led out onto a decking area where we could sit with views over the pool watching the herons and lizards. The air con was first class, and there was a free safe. Our room maid provided fresh towels and pool towels whenever requested, and kept our room in sparkling order, topping up the mini bar with beer and soft drinks as required. She was such a delightful young lady. The resort has the best free Wi-Fi we have experienced anywhere. Even by the pool it always worked well. We really enjoyed the staff here who met guests with a cheerful smile. The bar staff and restaurant staff were without exception very keen to please. This was probably the best All Inclusive Resort we have experienced. Breakfast had a wide and varied choice with a super-efficient egg station. We took lunch every day by the beach where there was always a special on offer. If the special didn’t appeal there was also an a la carte menu to select from. There was a further menu of sweets and coffees which our tour company rep had no idea about! Similarly in the evening the dinner buffet was varied, but again if it didn’t appeal there was an a la carte menu and a separate sweet menu from which to select . These menus had a variety of content that would appeal to anyone. Steaks, curries, seafood, pasta etc. On several occasions we had a troop of Thai dancers to entertain us at dinner and on another night Elvis was in town. The bar service was also always excellent with several beers, a large array of branded spirits and a good cocktail list on offer. Our only disappointment during our trip was the duo set to entertain in the bar in the evening. Whilst the pianist was sound the female singer was very weak and seemed to spend as much time, if not more taking breaks rather than performing! There were two infinity pools that were never over-crowded and so many sunbeds you could get two together at any time during our stay. Sunbeds are not allowed on the beach but at the Laguna they are as close as they can be without infringing local regulations. There were also very well maintained gardens around the resort which had a small river meandering through the property. It is not a huge resort with just 150+ rooms, but is right on the beach and well placed for the local shops. The ambience of the resort is chilled and laid back and without the loud entertainment teams some enjoy. However the tai chi, yoga and other events provided by the hotel were done quietly and efficiently and without any fuss. A few other things outside the hotel We took a number of excursions with Khao Lak Vista. The trip to Pha Nang Bay where The Man with the Golden Gun was filmed is not to be missed. A great trip out with wonderful scenery and we had never travelled in a long tailed boat before. We also had our laundry washed and ironed by a lady next door but one to the restaurant Q Cumber. Just up the hill from the Laguna. At just 80 Baht to wash and iron kilo of clothes this was a great holiday spend. Amazing how many t shirts and blouses are in a Kilo! Finally we enjoyed two Thai massages across the road from the hotel. 300 Baht (less than £8) for an hour at both Ying Thai and Tan Massage.

Really nice Hotel with good facilities although not overly commercial which we liked- for instance no shop on site but plenty within walking distance so not needed. We had Siam chalet which was actually a room on the 2nd floor but was lovely with great aircon & balcony overlooking gardens. Minibar & safe in room. Lovely and clean everywhere. Good buffet breakfast, 2 nice restaurants which while more expensive than local area were certainly not over the top price wise. Pool service for food & drink. Plenty of sun beds which they don't allow you to reserve in the morning (yay!!!) Spa treatments looked good although we didn't try them. Beach was good and although sea was quite rough it was shallow for a long way out which kept it safe. Didn't appear to have strong currents so excellent for wave jumping!! No water sports on this stretch of coast. 5 min walk along beach to one beach bar (Coconuts), serving good Thai lunches & dinners. 5-10 min walk on road to start of shops/ bars, although Everyday Restaurant & Golden Elephant- both good and literally only just across from Hotel. Highly recommend Hotel.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to kgso all for first time. It is amaxing. Beautiful on design in a traditional oriental feel but with all modern facilities. We had a room in main hotel that was just beautiful. Went with a friend for 40th birthday. It is in the national park area so exercion are all close by. There are also some shops/resturants in walking distance or night market is a short taxi ride away. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to have a relaxing holiday. The hotel staff are professional and friendly. Excellent service at all times. I am definitely going to go back. My friend is planning to return in October with her children as she loved it so much. Foid- both thai and western food available which is good if travelling with any fussy eaters. All inclusive really means all inclusive. I cannot thank the staff enough for making such lovely memories for me on my special birthday.
