My wife and myself visited Malaysia and stayed at your hotel in George town.Initially due to the Gym being renovated i was disappointed.as while making this booking i specially wanted a hotel with Gym and so we booked to stay at your hotel.Anyway after a day at your hotel,we met Danesh from the conceirge and let me tell you his rapport and attention to customer service was second to none.By dealing with Danesh it made me forget about the Gym not being available,and changed my view of your hotel.Danesh went above and beyond the call of duty and did it all with smile, and an ease which is rare commodity these days in an employee.He took the time to understand what we wanted to do while on holiday,and even went as far as phoning ahead to make sure that he had given us the correct information abaout our request.Originally my background was airline and i am well aware of customer service and how critical this is for company.Danesh has a flare of providing a high level of customer service and with smile and grace which comes naturally to him .I feel so strongly about this whichis why i am writing this commendation for him.Danesh needs,to be complemented and recognised for this by way of a promotion be compensated by the company for his hard work .Due to his dedication towards his job, made me change my negative view about your hotel due to the Gym to a positive one due to his customer service.So in short Danesh saved the day, I would appreciate if this letter of commendation be shared with him as i am a firm believer of acknowledging an employee for a job well done .Keep it up Danesh as you have done Gurney hotel proud.I wish you all the best in the future!

Not my first time staying at Gurney Resort and Hotel Residences but last weekend was truly amazing due to the excellent hospitality from the hotel staffs. We had a Ducati & BMW motorcycle trip to Penang with around 75 bikers and all of us stayed here. Not only they extended the hospitality to allow all the bikes to be parked in front of the lobby, the management went to the extend to make sure that all of us have extra parking space and even had two staffs to look after our bikes. Giving my utmost gratitude especially to Danesh, a Concierge Staff who went the extra mile to helping all of us in managing our check-in in a speedy manner, doing us favors by arranging security guards to look after the bikes, most importantly his attentiveness in providing us towels when we came in through a heavy rain.

It was a nice gesture from the hotel front desk staff to give me an upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite even though it was my first stay there. The suite is spacious indeed and quiet. What stands out for me is the great view of the city and sea from the 31st floor. It was also convenient, for the purpose of my trip, to go to Gurney Tower from the hotel just by walking over via the 5th floor car park. The hotel could make the suite better with some restoration on minor defects. Overall, it was quite alright and would come back to stay again.

Was there for 2 nights business meeting. Hotel is spacious and front desk were all smiles and polite. Unfortunately that's the only thing good to write about the hotel. The rest is a nightmare. The public praying room in the hotel, located at the 9th floor, looks and feels like the worst haunted room in a horror movie. The room was thick with musky smell. Once you get passed that, you will be greeted by an old moldy sofa that serve no purpose of being there. The carpeted room was wet - literally. My trousers were soaking wet just from the few minutes prayer in the room. My twin bed hotel room is spacious, but looks empty. The only thing that fills the room is the musky smell. The TV size is too small for the room size and power point is poorly located. Breakfast and meals have limited selection and doesn't really fit my taste. The elevators are also very slow and a bit confusing as well.

The lobby and public areas were nice and well presented and staff were friendly. Good facilities and room sizes for the price you pay per night. However the overall cleanliness of the place let this hotel down. Although we had a nice view from our room, the windows had layers of mould which made the whole room feel unclean and showers had large amounts of pink and black mould. The bed linen was falling apart and breaking at the seams due to old age. Do not stay here if you prefer clean rooms.

I would like to pass on my utmost gratitude for the outstanding hospitality that was shown to me by Danesh Nesh from Concierge, From the very first day, when Danesh greeted us all with a friendly smile, the service he provided was first class. Even during the evenings when it got extremely busy, Danesh never got flustered and showed total dedication and commitment to his duties and treated everyone to the same high standard of service. How Danesh kept up his sense of humour, enthusiasm and energy levels is beyond my belief. Although we saw other staff throughout the day, Danesh never seemed to be off duty and I’m sure he must work long hours. However, he truly is a credit to your hotel and he fully epitomises what 5 star service is all about. At times he was able to get tickets at the last minute which was a real bonus for our vacation. He also arranged all our tours wit precision, which we thoroughly enjoyed. With his positive attitude, I firmly believe that Danesh has a bright future ahead of him. WELL DONE DANESH!!!!!! I stayed there for 4 nights and really enjoyed my stay. There is a great Cafe on the ground floor and their Swimming pool is absolutely amazing with infinity pool and also children's pool to keep the little ones occupied.

I Stay in this hotel for 3 nights.The hotel room really spacious.The lift really slow and also need to renovate this hotel for better.overall this hotel really old .the view of this hotel very nice but the service very poor at this hotel.actually we came for holiday trip my husband were finding for yoga class he want to learn .we came to conceirge and ask about any yoga class nearby there was a gentlemen very kind he attend us his name Danesh he explain to us which is the nearby place to go for yoga class and he gave us the contact number too.we feel we are at 5 hotel because why this guy really willing to help anything we wants and needs.My son want to buy some local product in penang we ask Danesh he said there is famous local product in penang!. Danesh really kind a men he bought for my son few bags of local products.We shocked !he really goes extra mile for guest we just ask him but he really bought he really extraordinary men! we gave him money for him he said he dont want thanks he want us to remember and come a again to this hotel!thats sure we will wow!he dont want to take tips from us also he has the passion on him he really a professional person well discipline men too we always ask him lot of places in penang and food places he always smile and answer our questions very polite and humbly. Very hard to see like this type of staff because some of staff they will show their faces we ask lot of questions but this men he always willing to help guest needs !superb service !he is example for all the hotels staff .We stayed lot of hotels in Dubai and also in Australia we never meet this type of level of service provide by Danesh!! he really Gem for this hotel. First impression we came to this hotel got lot of problem with the service very poor.But we forget all the problem we will come back soon because of danesh .he really step forward for guest.we never see personalize service at any hotel but we really see in this hotel mr danesh willing to do ! i want to mention here any guest want to stay at hotel kindly come to this hotel because why yes we feel this hotel very old but very hard to get the level of service providing by danesh !always can see him he really help for guest he really priority for the customers! he should get reward for his hard work .Take care men!

I stay at your hotel for 4 nights we came for holiday.we all came to visit penang and taste penang food and also want to know about nice attraction places.the view of this hotel good and the rooms looks very old..the reception was not so professional.we call so many times the reception in the morning around 10am never attend the call it i feel like this is the last stay at this hotel.I came down to lobby and ask about good foods and places.The gentleman was very well explain the places and foods and more about Penang he also said which places good for shopping and the prices also not so expensive.He is really very kind guy well trained concierge he really important about guest wants and needs.He has a Great hospitality even though i feel the stay at this hotel will be final but we all thought we will come back because of Mr.Danesh his level of service really makes us damn happy!!this Christmas we wont forget every morning he will greet by our name thats was cool! always smile and also i can see he greets all the guest and very helpful guy .he have the passion he look very smart .He very caring abaout my mum because my mum she cant walk .He bring the wheelchair for my mum and assist to the room and every morning he ask my mum how is her leg its getting better.Wow Great Care For Guest!! overall i can say he should get reward and promotion too he is really a gem for this hotel very hard to see this of staff .he can say if anything we want dont hesitate to call him no words to say he really goes extra mile ..we ask him about nutmeg where to buy .He said he can buy for us .After working hours he willing to help thats call personalize service hansoff! to his level of service i stay at G hotel penang but i didnt see this type of Conceirge guy really extraordinary!! may god bless him ....

Reception is slow for check in 3. Crows are gathering at adult pool. Not hygeine for swimming 4. Table tennis and pool game are not free to use. Need to charge RM3. 5. Light in the room are not working. 6. T.v. channels not much choices. 7. Sofa sunken and old.
