As soon as we walked in, we thought this place is one of a kind. Modern amenities with traditional nods, contemporary art with antique furniture and setting. Great staff, can't thank them enough. Way more luxurious than we expected.

I made the reservation 1 day prior to my arrival then on the day of arrival I called the hotel in the morning to arrange airport transportation. The person answering the phone asked for my name and reservation number. Then advised me the airport pickup service was unavailable for such short notice. He was not professinal about the reply however I understood and got a reply. Upon arriving at the hotel they could not find my booking therefore I provided a print out of the booking with confirmation number and prepaid confirmation. The hotel staff person informed me they never recieved the booking confirmation. I then waited more then 30 min for a room and the lady questioned me serveral times about the payment even after I provide my credit card for a pre authorization of additional charges. She continued to question if the room had been prepaid even with my 2 prints of confirmation, email on mobile and credit card for guarantee. Her attitude was not professional and she continued to question the booking. I requested the confirmation papers back and left the hotel to stay at another hotel. Therefore my rating of the Amenities, Room cleanlines and comfort are just average however I never actually saw a room. The hotel would not refund my prepayment for several weeks after many calls from myself and this booking agent. They never returned phone calls or emails and did not even inform me when the prepayment was refuned. I do not recomend this hotel as there are many many hotels in the area with much better customer service. I have been staying in this area at least 1 trip per month for more than 5 years and this will not be a hotel I will recomend or stay at.

The Penaga holds it own against the best boutique hotels anywhere. Beautiful and unique furniture and art in rooms, great service, beautiful building and outdoors. Best shower ever! Room, in addition to AC, also had ceiling fan that was a great relief from the hermetically-sealed feeling most hotels have. I would recommend it to anyone- no one should be disappointed.
