Nice hotel with impeccable service. The pool was very refreshing on a hot day. I really enjoyed my stay, and I definitely will go back.

Lovely hotel located off the road amongst the many trees with a babbling brook out back of the cabins. Staff was very friendly giving us information about the area around us. It is a great place to bring children with many scheduled activities for them. Also we got in on a wine tasting, cheese and crackers event for the adults. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel, it was outstanding!

I flew in late to Phoenix, started driving to Payson, got there after dark and still had 17 miles to go. Started wondering if this was such a great idea! Kohl's lodge was an oasis after a very long day! Cozy lodge, smiling and friendly front desk, and lovely room with a small kitchenette and gas fireplace. Highly recommend Kohl's! Love the history of the place!

The staff was absolutely a pleasure to deal with at all times. The restaurant on site has a fantastic menu - we loved the BBQ and pizza. We slept like babies in a very comfortable bed. We will definitely be back.

beautiful creek runs by the cabins. Pleasant experience.

I really didn't know what to expect when I booked at a 'ranch' lodge. The hotel was a great experience, the lobby was very relaxing , and the room had everything anyone could need. I felt at home there, and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Paysin area. 5 star all the way

Located in the Tonto forest, the setting is beautiful, set back off the highway, quiet, secluded. lots of trees. The hotel has a great lodge feeling. The rooms are nicely decorated, good size and have patios that go out into the pool/garden areas. Beds are great. Wifi is TERRIBLE - this place is secluded and utilizes satellite internet which is not good at all. I was able to find one little spot in the lobby, next to the guest computer area where I got one bar of ATT 4G. Staff were great - Jamie at check in and Jaime at check out. A few little issues: They have a "resort fee" - its low, but just include it in the price. It covered the gym, wifi, and a few other things, but really we didn't use any of it except for the wifi, which didn't really work. I'd rather not know I'm paying for something I'm not using. The curtain rod held the curtain a good 5-6 inches away from the wall and just went to the edge of the sliding glass door - at the right angle, people could easily see right into your bed - had to rig some jackets and towels for privacy and to occlude the morning light. Patio was littered with cigarette buds and a beer can full of ashes and cigarettes - odd because we had to sign a statement upon check-in that we wouldn't smoke or would be charged a cleaning fee. Had to live with it for a few hours until they came to clean it (2 calls). Unfortunately that's all we really did before bed was try to enjoy the cool weather on the patio. Otherwise 5 stars.

The restaurant was very disappointing - a very limited menu.

There is almost everything you need to keep children entertained, from mini golf, chess , basketball, volleyball to even a Ping Pong table. Very accommodating staff.

We loved our room and the location, and wished we could have stayed longer.

My son and i stayed there a week ago and we loved it. Ive been to kohls ranch before and i always love it! The weather is awesome beautiful pines and just all around goodness from everyone! Cant wait to go back again!

We had a great weekend getaway. Loved being greeted by the crackling fire in the lobby and the staff was terrific. It would have been perfect but the bed was a bit hard for my taste.

Kohls was the perfect place for our weekend getaway. It was a great place to relax in the evenings. We booked last minute and landed a studio room. The room was equipped with all needed kitchen items as well as a bigger fridge than we had anticipated. The dishwasher was an added bonus as well! The room was neat and clean. We dined in the saloon both nights due to lack of motivation after long days of hiking and exploring. The food and service was great - no complaints! We also enjoyed a glass of wine by the fire pit. While we did not partake in the extra activities, there is plenty to do to keep your family occupied. When we return we hope to get into a cabin on the creek!

Kohl's lodge is a great getaway. The rooms are quaint and the grounds are well kept. The saloon serves great food and is great for couples and families.

I would say the biggest advantage of this place is the location. Though it is away from Payson but it is set in woods and it rained in the evening. You can book a cabin as well, if you intend to stay for 2 -3 days. Staff was very cooperative and food was awesome. I would say, it is a must stay hotel if you are planning to payson

We have stayed at Kohls Ranch twice. The first time for a wedding in a 1 bedroom cabin and the 2nd time for a special getaway in a 2 bedroom cabin. The 1st time was great. Location is beautiful, love the grounds and the creek! The 2nd time was not as great as the 1st. There was a problem in our cabin and we were moved to another location which wasn't what we paid for (we paid for creekside with a hot tub and were relocated to something that viewed other cabins and didn't have a hot tub or private balcony overlooking the beautiful creek). They did give us a certificate for 1 night to come back, however we paid for 2 nights in a cabin that wasn't the one we booked and traveled 2 hours to stay in.

We reserved a king, however all available was a two double beds. No effort was made to make right. A free upgrade? They did offer cabin for 50.00 more. I thought because of promise, upgrade should of been complimentary.. Plus the 10 dollar (amenities fee that is automatically charged. I probably signed the agreement, however should be advised of charge at check in.. This coupled with the fact the CEO (Diamond) we bragging all night on his infomercial as to how he makes things right. HAD THE STAFF SAID, "WE DO NOT HAVE A KING, HOWEVER WE WILL UPGRAGE YOU ON OUR DIME. I WILL NOT RETURN BECAUSE OF THIS.

A beautiful location with rustic, well-designed décor, very friendly staff and close to the town of Payson.

The previous reviews and pictures made this hotel seem better than it was. In the end, I would rate is just "ordinary."

The hotel setting is unbelievable. In the pines and along the creek, just gorgeous. Food in the restaurant is wonderful, staff is friendly and helpful, and rooms have amenities to do your own thing in there if you wish.
