Pulled up and I was like what the......so I left and I went to a local restaurant to eat and asked the waitress what she thought. She said, "I think it's better than it was". So I entered the check in area, smelled like smoke...gross. I had to ring a damn bell to get someone's attention and check me in. She was super sweet. My key card wouldn't work for me so she had to help me and I walked in and found a bug in the bed but luckily there were 2 beds. I put the ice bucket on top of the bug. There is NOTHING welcoming about this hotel. Everything is so outdated it's super creepy. If I see another bug I'm going to sleep in my car. I put the heat on high so I don't have to put the covers on me. I'd leave but there is not a hotel close enough.
I stayed for 2 hours and left. Bugs in bed!! I called 3 times and Noone answered phone up front. Went to lobby and Noone at desk. Had to ring a bell twice before anyone showed up and then had attitudes for bothering them. Disgusting!
Room key card reader would not work unless you pumped it in and out very quickly several times and waited for a green light. Had to wait close to 3 minutes with the water running to get any type of hot water in the shower or the sink! Staff was friendly and helpful but never available at front desk. Continental breakfast consists of toast, cheap donuts and pastries, coffee and juice and cold cereal. It is within 10 miles of AOAA in Coal Township but hardly worth the price they are charging. Will stay in Bloomsburg on my next trip.
Very nice and clean. comfortable beds. did not try breakfast but looked okay. clean shower. AC worked well. People running the desk very nice and helpful. We only stayed one night and key dropped off was a little strange but other than that, nice place.
We like to stay here when we want to spend more than one day at Knoebels, or see other things in the area. We have always had a room with at least a small fridge, which is good for keeping the picnic supplies fresh. The free breakfast is nothing special, but for the price, there is nothing to complain about. Given what Knoebels charges for a log cabin that doesn't even include indoor plumbing, this is an >outstanding< value. There are several worthwhile places to eat within walking distance.
The hotel is the only one near Knoebels and it was convenient and reasonably priced. The outside of the hotel left little to be desired needs to be repaired. However rooms were clean and air conditioning was fantastic. Staff was nice and friendly.
After a full day at Knoebels, a friend and I decided not to return to his place in Philadelphia but to stay in the area. This hotel was about ten minutes away from Knoebels. The outer appearance did look dated. The hotel itself is attached to a bar, both of which are in the middle of nowhere. The employees were very nice and helpful. We had trouble getting the electronic key to work on either of the doors. These rooms had a door on either side of the room (one was to the parking lot. The other to the inner hallway.) Neither wanted to open. It took the shift supervisor over 15 minutes to get the electronics to half work. The room was not too bad. The beds were okay, semi-comfortable. The bathroom was acceptable.
Room was disgusting! Filthy box spring and dirty, lumpy sunken mattress, scummy filthy blankets, dirty microwave, windows so dirty you couldn't see out of them, nasty bathroom with old disgusting curtain rings, walls all stained with filth running down them, toilet paper holder was even dirty and disgusting. Towels were stained and dingy. No alarm clock. Clothes rod bent and held together with duct tape. A/C worked on low only and had buttons broke off and dirty! Furniture all damaged with stains, scratches and finish worn off. We went out to eat and later that evening discovered 2 pair of sunglasses missing and my husbands toiletry bag gone. Someone was evidently in our room but we had no way to prove it. Family had 2 other rooms just as bad. Person in next room had TV blasting all night, so with paper thin walls, not much sleep! Parking lot and landscaping awful. We should have tried to find somewhere else to stay. DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE!!
I was a little apprehensive at first due to the reviews but most were wrong. Please don't judge the hotel by the outside appearance. The room we stayed in 102 was very clean and comfortable. My 9yr old son commented on how comfortable the beds were. Refrigerator and microwave were a bonus. It was great to have a cold air conditioner when temp were 99 degree. This was a close location to Knoebels, gas station, food etc. Thank you.
Well the reason why I gave this hotel 1 star review was because the staff that I had interaction with were nice. I am by no means very picky about where I stay, usually as long as it's very clean and things are working properly I'm okay. So this hotel/inn is very dated...to the point where it's falling apart so it's not being kept up well. The water was filling up when I took a shower so I was showering in a couple of inches of water. When I was brushing my teeth the sink was filling with water. Worst of all, the room and hotel in general was not clean at all. Walking into the hotel a strong musty Oder hit me...the sofas in the reception area are falling apart...when I sat on one of them waiting for my sister to check us in, I felt the coils. The only reason why I actually spent the night there was because we were with another group of people. For $88 a night, I guess it was cheap, but I'd spend the extra $30 or so next Time and sleep at a holiday inn or something in the area. Also, the complimentary breakfast was pretty awful. The pastries were stale. The cereal was stale. They had some bagels and waffles, but they looked so dull and nothing that I would actually eat and I'm not even a picky eater. The coffee was okay, and juice.
