We’ve spent only one night there. The road to the hotel is quite confusing. The hotel itself locates adjacent to the other chain. I love its design very much. Also, room deco is great, so are amenities. It would have been better if it provides quite luxury personal care items. The beach in front of the hotel is not that stunning; however, you can spend some time walking and enjoy the scene. We also had our dinner at the hotel. With THB600 excluding drinks and plain items this is quite pricy, but still acceptable. Overall I like the room, neutral on food, and another thump up for design. Recommend!
We stayed in this resort during our visit to Pattaya last month. The resort is located on the beach and is therefore pretty interior from the city center. The resort has a private beach and is ideal for spending a peaceful vacation. We stayed in the Premium Ocean View Room. The room was spacious and had the standard amenities. The highlight of the room was the sea facing sit-out. It was pretty big with couches to laze around and feel the sea breeze. They had an exhaustive breakfast spread which I felt was perfect to start the day! They also had a rooftop bar and restaurant. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
Having read comments on TripAdvisor I hoped it would be a hit and not a miss review. The day before our arrival we rang the hotel and spoke to Julie and arranged a transfer - she had perfect English and organised everything very well for us. We had a super check in with Tony and as platinum accor we were truly treated well. Breakfast was enjoyable and plenty to choose from. Staff are all super friendly - “wai” ed many times. The hotel is weirdly constructed- you arrive on the 5th floor and the sun is behind you for the majority of the day - means a lot of the hotel is in the shade. Room walls are concrete modern design and pool is motley design which unfortunately makes the water look murky. We had a premium ocean view room, with large balcony. (No sun all day). The aircon was very noisy. The superior rooms are inland facing, no balcony (most look at another wall)and the hotel has most of these windows covered in a permanent blind of leaves. (It does state this on the Accor website) Our room safe was a complete pain and did not work properly. During the 2 nights we stayed we had 5 people called out to it! Ie each time we tried to open and close it - it needs replacing. Everyone was extremely apologetic but it’s not convenient to keep calling to open and close a safe ! Small beach is shared by a number of properties. Could do with the litter being collected (although it would probably need doing often, but the sea area has been ringed off for safety. Pools are separated for games/kids/jacuzzi/swimming. Sunbeds very very close together and often reserved for hours without people appearing /you have to listen to the music of the person sitting on top of you/ have someone’s feet in your face. (Albeit we were there in 1st Jan so Hotel probably at its busiest) Pool boys are great and how they manage to put up with some of the guests still with a smile on their face is amazing ! There is lovely bar and restaurant on rooftop with great barman Khun Koi, who gave great service and good conversation and we had 2 enjoyable meals with the attentive restaurant service from Khun Keng. 7 mins walk brings you to family mart (opposite temple of truth) 20 mins walk brings you to the “village centre” with 7/11, pharmacy etc Pattaya “dolphin island” is 12 mins drive around 200 baht by taxi. (Hotel has a courtesy shuttle every 2 hrs to main road, then you can get the baht bus to beach road) At top of road is small hut offering taxis and also selling fruit and water (2 Mins walk)
Room service not proper I am at present in the hotel room service very poor Think before you come to this hotel I am member of Accor group but sadly say they are not up to the standards here For any thing we have to call min 2 to 3 time also room cleaning we have to call 3 times
Rooms are ok, view is decent. Pool is awesome tho. No kids screaming at the adult pool, games and beach activities. Pool volleyball or polo is fun. Carey at the front desk was really nice and knew how to get us sorted for a room upgraded to ocean view room which was a nice size and had a big deck for night time relaxing.
I booked this hotel for two nights and have just completed the first night and I have one more night to go. It is unfortunate that I have to write this review in the middle of my holiday. The name of the hotel as beach front is misleading yes it is beachfront but when you book the so called superior room you can be shafted into a room with no view. The room is pasted with stickers with no view. It is nothing like beach resort experience that one is typically used to. Since the time I arrived the staff has been most unhelpful and negative on all fronts and following is the summary of my experience of staying at the Novotel in Pattaya. I have booked two rooms for my family and wanted to have the adjacent or adjoining rooms. They could not arrange for that. The family was split between two rooms at the two end of the corridor nothing like a family holiday that I had planned for. Also that they gave us twin bed room when I had booked for kingsize bed. The intercom in the room didn’t works so we had to walk to the front desk on a different floor for every little request. We went out for excursions and by the time we came back to the rooms in the evening our rooms were still not cleaned. I tried approaching the housekeeping staff and the lady was extremely rude and when ultimately the room was cleaned the fresh towels were dumped on the bed and dustbin not cleaned which was full of my 1 year old sons Diapers. Later in the evening we requested for planted and cutlery to be sent to my room which it has been more then an hour and has not arrived,it will take for me to go to the front desk to request for plates as the intercom has also not been fixed. Lastly the location of the hotel is quiet horrible and far from any sort of night life even the hotel facilities close by 11. Please be aware as personally wouldn’t recommend to anybody and if one is looking for beach resort experience.
Happy with it on the whole, one area for improvement is the bathroom that have flooded very easily due to how the floor level and impaired drainage. The private beach is great. Perhaps the sunbeds could be cleaner but there was more than enough of these that you will end up finding a clean one. Food is average but the ambience at the rooftop restaurant more than makes up for it.
I had high hopes for my stay and unfortunately they were never met. I spent more time away from the hotel than at it. I am a Le Club member. I arrived about 630 pm on a Friday. The layout for the hotel is very choppy, not a good flow. When head to the reservations desk for members and the lady said no and pointed me to the regular counter. They pull up my reservation and then walk me over to the members table...interesting. I’m walked to my room. On the way we have to wait a while because there is no service elevator and service staff were using the elevators. I get to the room...meh it’s just ok. I go to use the bathroom and it is so tight. The space between the toilet and the shower door are a few inches maybe and I am barely 5 feet. So it is impossible to sit directly on the toilet and only made possible if you sit at an angle. Check out the rest of the room as well as the direct pool access. Because it was so late I was not able to get a view of outside. What I did see was the towel cabana was right out my window. All the while you can hear the entertainment going on on the 6th floor. Connect to the hdmi on the desk and it isn’t working. I call the front desk to inform and ask for someone to check it out think they would send someone... that doesn’t happen. Lay down and can hear constant noise from the outside pool area, club entertainment and it seems like there is a closet outside of my door that service staff use. The sound carries. Ordered pizza, was fast and decent. Menu is limited, drinks not listed. I am hesitant to open the door as mosquitos are everywhere and he facility is more open than closed. Personalized welcome note and fruit were nice touch. Make my way to breakfast the next morning. The space is small. The choices are limited. Would have liked to have seen more fruit options. If you are looking for any type of western food...bacon may be as close as you get. The wait staff just seem to be there. They don’t greet guests nor offer any help or anything. If they weren’t there no one would notice. Went to the beach from there. No towel person just a cabana for you to get your own towel. I go to sit in one of the chairs and there are say maybe 20. They are closely lined up on the beach. I could stick my hand out and literally touch 4 chairs around me. The beach grounds were dirty. There was trash in the sand (empty drink carton, etc). There is a security person that stands above the beach area and looks down. Pool/beach service did not exist. No one walked around to take any orders. After getting some work done I decided to head to the pool. In my mind I was thinking I can just chill at the pool I have access to from my room. So I walk through the water to put my things down on the patio. I notice that the water is filthy! There are dead worms and what looks like dog poop in the pool. Looks as if it has never been cleaned. The water was a murky brown color. I set my things down on the table and realize I can sit on this patio. The patio furniture was dirty as were the chairs. Looked like no one cleans that area. Ok cool let me change into my swimsuit and go to the bigger pool. I lay out near the pool between my room and the beach. Looking around thinking where is the staff. I get up and go to the bar and order a watermelon drink. At that moment it dawns on me that I did not get a welcome drink or a welcome drink voucher. I place my order and point to where I am sitting. 5-10 mins pass and I look at the bar to see here is no one there. Seems weird that no one is at your outside bar. So I decide to go back in my room. I go do somethings in the room and realize that I left my things on the patio. When I walk out I see the guy looking around with my drink. So i trudge through the water to get the drink. The guy asks me if that is my room...no I just came out of it?!?! He passes me he bill back through the towel cabana at this point. I start to think that my peaceful calm weekend resort was not going to work for me. I decide to go to the mall. I stop by the front desk to mention the welcome drink voucher and am told they will send it to my room. They did send a voucher for my drink. I walk upstairs to get a cab. There are about 3 bell guys standing there. I wait. And then I ask for help. They tell me a price that is double what I’m quoted on Uber, I decide to wait. Once I leave I realize to the extent how far I am to anything. Do some shopping and spend over an hour trying to get a cab back to the hotel- Uber, grab, taxi it was just painful. I rush back to the hotel to shower and get ready for a show. I have a public restroom phobia no matter where I am. For that reason my first choice is to always bird bath it. Being that I was out and about I decided to take a shower. I always travel with shower shoes. So I hop in the shower to realize that the drainage in the shower is not working so the little bit of elevation I had off the floor was non existent, as the water was standing about 1/2 inch around my feet. Next day head to breakfast before check out. Nothing new same as yesterday. Checked out and had a 3 hour wait before my car would be to me. So I sat in the outside part of the lobby waiting. Thinking that I would get some lunch closer to my leave time. I drop in at the front desk to see what my final bill was. They desk staff hands it to me. I look at it and ask her about food only to be told that the only thing open for lunch is outside eating. So I go back out to the couch and sit and wait. About an hour later the same desk staff person asks me when do I plan on checking out? Confused I go back to the desk and am told that I need to sign for the charges. So why did you not say that when you gave me the bill. She thought I was going to eat lunch and then come back in check out. I can’t tell you the last time I have physically checked out from a hotel and returned a key. I am used to getting a receipt the night before or the morning of for final expenses. Knowing they authorized x amount when I checked in I was surprised when explained they couldn’t just take the charges out of what was originally provided at the beginning. At this point I am starving. I drag myself and hints and head back outside. I order the kra polay pizza, yummy. I eat it and consider getting dessert but the delay in getting service has me opt out. Sitting at the table there were what looked like ants crawling on the table so I battled insects that were getting to my food before me. I moved my departure up by 3 hours. Needless to say my stay was not the relaxing resort that I expected. Pros: remote location, family focused Cons: remote location, family focused, layout of hotel is weird, service was below average (not sure if they were understaffed or just slow), not hospitable at all. For what I paid for “pool access” I won’t make that mistake again. I can’t refer this location to anyone. I’ve stayed in Ibis and Pullman hotels and received better service. Oh...I did not realize the hotel had a shuttle that goes to the city every 2 hours until I read a review. And of course when I go to the desk I see a sign that was never mentioned to me. My expectations are high at a certain price point. They missed the mark.
We planned Pattaya for our 13th anniversary. Hotel provided us the right venue. Away from town but next to beach. Staff is very supportive and help us celebrate .Next to beach and pool overlooking same. Negative 1.Rooms have a damp smell. 2.Breakfast hall is small.
The Hotel is very nice with very helpful and nice staff and nice view. The room was big with comfy bed and the breakfast is delicious but they have varieties in Thai food more than others. The pool is not heated, so it was a bit cold but its overlooking the sea so the view is great. The issue was that the hotel is far from the center and the shuttle bus moves every 2 hours and the last is at 10 pm and if you are not renting a motorbike, transportation will be difficult and expensive.
