We have a nice stay at the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is okay. Anyway there is a construction surrounding the hotel area. maybe a little noisy during the day time. But the hotel is Super convenient to walk to shopping mall and prime location such as walking street.
Again at Mercure Hotel, it's was very nice to be back here as my second Home! Excellent service mind especially Tom who was on night duty when I late arrived to the Hotel, she remember and asked me if I'm tired after flight or not 👍So construction next door are not the problem for me and this is Hotel couldn't do anything. This time just short business trip but still memorable of service from staff in this Hotel, Can wait for next visiting in December for new slider at the pool 🏊. Thank you to Mr chat, Mr Bob, Mr Otto, who really look after me.
I had some points to use so decided to give it a try. Only go if you OK to have no view (the hotel has parking on one side and 2 buildings in construction on the other, giving nice construction work noise if you try to enjoy the pool. That was not mentioned on the website so check with them before... 10mins walk to the beach (via a dark and bad smelly road ...) and no sea view whatsoever. Overall hotel is old and some parts in renovation. The bar and the business center were both closed ... Full of tour groups Chinese and Russians so brace yourself for the breakfast crowd ... the breakfast is not good anyway so went to Starbucks instead. The baguette bread was hard like a stone... The only good point of the hotel was the service. Everyone smiling and trying to please. That compensates for all the rest... I was upgraded with my Accor status so I can't complain for the price ... Final nice gesture when I checked out ... they made me pay for a glass I broke in the room ! Never seen that. I had called to apologize. A common small water glass. That was the nice gesture on departure for a platinum Accor member ... I couldn't believe it !
Good stuff .clean rooms.clean and big pool .friendly and nice people working there.near to supermarket and mall and .near to beach road and street walking may be 10 min by walk.any time you want taxi available.
Very tired room. Beds and pillows very hard Asian style- not usual Mercure beds at all. Bathroom needs mould spaying. Leaky toilet sprayer and very poor shower pressure with rain shower head skirting all water out of middle only. Pool area nice but also showing need everywhere for refurbishment. Blinds in room all wonky and need fixing. Breakfast was usual spread and good. Lunchtime food- thai curry generous and good value, fish and chips was overpriced for very small child size portions. Would have been great in its day but sadly needs a lot of refurbishment. Our room had old peeling wallpaper and an old rough paint job with melteca furniture cracked and blistering. Advertisement pictures must been taken 20 years ago before wear and tear took over. Restaurant looks like a bland food hall with no personality or ambience. Just plain tables and chairs. While my overnight stay was okay, I would not stay again unless the beds were at least sleepable to Usual Mercure standards. Having spent many nights in the new Mercure Makkasan in Bangkok and now staying a night at the Mercure Oceanside Hotel, this hotel is well below standard of these which are great examples of Mercure properties. These are true 4 star properties whereas Mercure Pattaya is a 3 at most. There is no comparison and so glad we moved to Oceanside Mercure Bangkok tonight. Sorry I stay in Different Accor group properties regularly and this one is the first that failed to please.
well back again still excellent service from all areas meals and a excellent hotel. the porters were very helpful if you needed information on the best places to shop. their people from England who were having great time in the pool
Probably about my 5th or 6th stay here at The Mercure now, so I guess I could be called a "regular". I always feel looked after here and am given a nice room. (Accor Platinum member). The rooms are getting a little tired, but they're certainly comfortable enough for me - the bed is especially comfortable - but the pressure in the shower could be a lot better. (The water pressure here has never been great regardless of what room I stay in - it's always pretty soft/low). The TV in my room was HUGE - probably too big for the room actually, but it was a bit of a novelty. Cleaning standards were very high, and I want to say thanks to "Pat" who looked after my room on numerous occasions and kept it spotless. The front desk staff are lovely. I didn't meet all of them, but Phet, Jes, O'Pal and Manager Tim were all very caring, helpful and friendly. If the lovely Tom asked me to marry her tomorrow I would drop everything and do exactly that - she is a true gem and such a wonderful person. I hope the hotel management realise what an asset she is to the team - nothing is too much trouble. Chat and Otto the bell boys are lovely guys too and always take time to say hi. Three points that were slightly disappointing... The main focus of this hotel seems to be Chinese tour groups these days. I understand this from a revenue perspective, but it does seem to come at the expense of independent travelers. The breakfast buffet is chaos in the morning when the groups all descend at once, and, at times, so is the lobby and getting attended to by the staff. The Chinese tend to talk very loudly in the corridors regardless of what time of morning or night, and I was woken up by people banging on my door (which, as it turned out, was the wrong door) early in the morning more than once. The construction on the "pool side" of the property is very loud and woke me up early in the morning on numerous instances. (I realise there isn't much The Mercure can do about this), but maybe it's best that I don't return until the construction is finished? Thirdly, Accor have dispensed with "vouchers" now for people wanting to redeem there points and The Accor website states clearly that "paying by points" is now available at all Accor Hotels. I was surprised that no one reception seemed to know what was going on with this. Finally, Manager Tim worked out was going on and helped me, but it was a very long process that left me standing there for 45 minutes while it was worked out. Maybe some staff training needed in this area? Finally, thank you for the birthday cake and bottle of wine in my room - it was very much appreciated. This hotel has always been my "go to", and has a lot going for it, but with the construction noise and focus on tour groups I'm thinking maybe another venue in town might be better for my next few trips?
Stayed with my kids in family room on 7 floor facing pool, kids were amazed to see the room with bunker bed , slide, super hero wall and games on call with small seperate tv in kids den ..! Pool is nice and big with separated kids area. Staff is superb and biggest asset of hotel I can say , very helpful, polite and professional. need to improve breakfast spread and selection.
Hotel is close to all the entertainment areas. Rooms are clean though Bathroom was very cramped. Only downside was the construction work next door which minimised the use of the pool area due to all the construction noise.
I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. I do not recommend this hotel to others. I wrote to the director before entering this hotel. I told the hotel manager that I would go to this hotel for my birthday. The management also replied to me. For a birthday, we prepare a cake from the hotel. But on the day of birth, no action was taken by the hotel. The hotel lobby is standard in standard 3-star hotels and very warm. The breakfast buffet is weak. The restaurant staff's attitude to breakfast is not at all appropriate. The hotel pool allows people with dirty clothes to get dirty. The standard is not good for 4 star hotels and is very weak. In all hotels, you will usually receive a deposit of $ in cash, and this hotel will receive all the money as a bat. There is no toothbrush inside the toilet facilities. The receptionists of the night shift of the English language speak poorly
