We recently stayed at the Baraquda. Having stayed before and liked it for its friendly staff and quirky fit out. We booked our stay for March however due to pending surgery for that month had to change our plans to Febuary. After some email communication with Ms May in the booking office we were able to make a change for the dates we needed. We were informed that the room we had booked in March was no longer available as they were now fully booked for Feb. They did have a suite room available at a significant cost increase. We subsequently booked the upgrade based on that information and did not want to miss out on staying at the hotel. On arrival at the hotel it was evident that they were not fully booked. I would estimate that they were no more than 50% occupied at best. At no time during our six day stay was the hotel busy. This is a clear lack of honesty and integrity and did not sit well with us for the remainder of our stay. We did have other significant issues. No wifi in our room until the last day of our stay. Thank you Mr Toh for sorting that out eventually. We had two evening meals on the rooftop restaurant and on both occasions the food was very poor considering the price we paid even after using our Accor plus card. Lamb shanks very tuff and undercooked on the first night. On the second night the meals were almost cold and unapertising. Don't know what's happened to the food since our first stay. Perhaps there is a lack of talent in the cook department as getting your eggs cooked the way you like them for breakfast is virtually impossible.. As an Accor plus member you should get one meal free when dinning as a couple I.e. A 50% discount. The problem with the Baraquda was that they were discounting the price of breakfast for all guests except card holders who still paid full price then got the 50% discount. This then cheapened the value of the card which we pay for yearly. If the hotel was going to give a discount, as loyalty card holders we should also get that discount as well as 50% off. Another issue is the disgusting coffee served via one of the small home style coffee machine rather than brewed coffee. We were lucky as we came prepared with our own coffee from home. That machine and the rubbish coffee it brews should be sent to the bottom of the pool. Bring back the service with the friendly staff serving freshly brewed hot coffee. The room has seen better days with the floor boards rotting from exposure to water and the wrap around bed headboard cracking and peeling. Hardly the quality you would expect for the cost of the room. The positive points were the staff who tried hard to please however are being held back by back office staff letting the team down. Unless there is a significant change in this hotel we will not be staying here again. Underperforming and way over priced. Does not deserve the Sofitel brand name.
This modern hotel is ideally situated in the center of Pattaya just a few blocks from Beach Road and its busy beach. The shopping malls, massage parlors, shops, restaurants and bars are also conveniently located within walking distance. The attractive spacious room featured a deluxe king-size bed w/ fine linens, a large bathroom with good lighting & wonderful rainfall shower as well as a work desk, LED TV, mini bar w/ complimentary water, room safe and free high speed internet. The only thing missing were drawers for putting our smaller items away. A great breakfast was served between 6.30-10.30 am and included lots of fruit, fine orange juice, eggs to order and served cappuccino & tea. The overall service was excellent with a very polite and dedicated young staff. I did like the pool w/ jacuzzi at the end but found the clean open-air facilities far from ideal when leaving the room due to the heat & humidity.
Nice swimming pool. Comfortable, clean and lovely room in modern style. Excellent services. 24 hr easy transportation. Opposite of the beach. Near to shopping mall, walking street and coffee cafe. We will be back for our next holiday for sure.
The hotel is located in the heart of Pattaya but not in the crowded area. The service was awesome. The room was very pleasing and totally deserved to be a 5-star hotel. The staffs were very welcoming and friendly. The overall stay is tremedous. Highly recommend
This was my first stay at the Hotel Baraquda, and it was a great experience. The hotel is in a good location close to the shops and beach. The rooms were very modern and clean, with plenty of room. The facilities were great, with a good restaurant and an excellent rooftop bar. The pool was fairly quiet and there was usually a spare bed - the only downside was the sun disappeared behind the buildings after 2pm. Finally, the staff were excellent - very friendly, polite and responsive. I'll be back!
This was my third stay and again I was not disappointed. Every time I walked in I was greeted by genuine smiles and felt at home. Jack, Pete and Nop were always helpful in getting a cab, opening the door or stowing the golf clubs. Pepe, Gigi and Art man the reception desk with the warmest of smiles and positive can do attitudes. Breakfast was great each day and Aod couldn't be any more accommodating. The pool, roof top bar and location are super, very peaceful in the middle of Pattaya's activities. This is the only place I would consider while staying in Pattaya
I was in Pattaya for a short visit and stayed at the Hotel Baracuda Pattaya for 3 days. My experience started at 3:00 am when I arrived. The on duty staff at that time was more than professional. They had me checked in and to my room within minutes. The room was comfortable and the bed just awesome. The layout of the room is a bit different with an open concept bathroom. I found it to meet all my needs. The hotel gym is small but enough to get a quick workout in if needed. Room service was fast and the food tasty! All in all I had a great stay. Thank you for making me feel comfortable.

We spent five days at the hotel and enjoyed ourselves very much. The hotel facilities are good and the staff were very attentive. The front office staff at the reception, especially Gigi, Note and Art and the others were very helpful. The location is good and within walking distances to many places.
