The Gig is in an excellent location. It in near everything and you can walk to everything. Jangcylon mall is next door, plenty of shops and restaurants and the beach is 1 block away. The pool on the top floor is beautiful and the gym has good cardio machines. There nothing really for lifting weights. If you like to train you will have to get a membership somewhere else which is what I did. The downside are the guests. The hotel is very popular with Indians and Chinese. Next to my room there were about 7 Indian guys crammed into two rooms. They were loud, they completely thrashed the room, kept the door open so they could hang out while listening to music and treated the hotel like it was their home. Also, if there are lots of Chinese guys at the pool then you will not be able to use it. Often there were 8/9 Chinese guys, smoking, spitting, yelling, and-as usual-oblivious to other guests.
The best thing about the property is the service. It is great in itself, for reasons like the location and convenience and cleanliness. But for me, it was the service that put it above and beyond. Upon my return to the area, I had a paid reservation at another reputable hotel, I missed this hotel so much, that I left the other hotel and returned back here.
