I usually don't write a descriptive appraisal of hotels, although I stayed for the nights in many hotels of the five continents. This hotel, however, was so nice experience that I was happy to write a praise. The location of the hotel is excellent: the hotel lies somehow in heart of Paris in a peacefully quarter. Besides of this fact there is an underground station only a minute walk away. The room was nicely decorated, modern and clasic in the same time, clean, the hotel has a small very nice breakfast room and the reception (breakfast is not included, but you can choose it for every day). The staff is very sympathetic and helpful. I had a problem with the glassdoore in the bathroom of my room and it was immediately arranged. I would like to say thank you to the staff at the reception, especially I would like to thank the friendly receptionist Mr. Sef who worked 2 or 3 days in two shifts in due of sick co-worker - and nevertheless he was always available.
We book two rooms one double and one single, rooms are small but clean and beds were good. The bathroom was clean and practical. I really liked the room for the breakfast, very cosy and with natural light. In the surrounding you will find many restaurants, theaters, a close metro station (Pernety) and you could feel the Parisian way of life with food markets, Fromagerie, Bakery ....
From the outside and first impression not so bad... but... the rooms are tiny.. the floor is worn out .. bed is a hole you sink in and the window will not close properly.. the handle for the doors are sort of attached .. And the restroom is less then tiny.. furthermore old and rotten.. there is no chance someone can really sit on the toilet.
I've just returned from a 4 day trip in Paris where we stayed here and I couldn't have asked for a better hotel. The room was quite small but lovely and kept very clean by the housekeepers. There were plenty of options at breakfast and the coffee from the machine was fabulous. The breakfast area was arranged like a little Parisian bistro which me and my friend really loved. The staff were some of the most helpful and friendly I've ever encountered. I lost my phone in the room after we'd checked out and upon returning to pick up our luggage (as they'd let us keep it there until our flight) they were so helpful in trying to find it and thankfully they were successful! The location was not in a touristy area which at first we thought might be a problem but we actually preferred being slightly out of it. It meant that you were surrounded by locals and fruit stalls and patisseries and enjoyed a 10 minute walk into the more central Montparnasse where there were more restaurants, the tower, bars and the train station. There was also a metro station right outside the hotel as well as an ATM which we found very useful. You could also view the Eiffel tower after walking to the top of the street at the roundabout which was amazing! We actually enjoyed walking to a few of the major sights such as the Eiffel tower and the Jardins de Luxembourg even though it was a bit of a walk it was beautiful weather and lovely settings of the river, cobbled streets and little cafes. However the metro and the RER were incredibly useful for travelling a bit further. We used the metro easily to access Champs Elysees and a few other attractions and also used it to connect to the RER to get to Disneyland and to the airport. I don't think there's a better way of getting around, it was cheap and easy when we got the hang of it. We also felt very safe where we were staying in Paris, often wandering around until midnight, it was always peaceful and enjoyable. Overall I couldn't fault the trip we had an amazing time and the hotel was superb!
Lovely breakfast, nice and accomodating staff, small and cozy rooms with AC and comfortable beds. The only downside with this hotel is the thin walls. You could hear your neighbours talking and the sound of cars outside. Not a problem for a heavy sleeper and I will book this samr hotel next time I visit Paris.
At the start we liked the hotel and room, even though for the first three nights we could hear our loud, arguing neighbors very well. We were woken up at 1am by their drunk arguing. It wasn't an issue until our air conditioning unit stopped working and it was unable to be fixed that day and we were unable to move rooms as they were apparently booked full; I say apparently because online via booking websites it indicated there was an open room. So we spent the night in a very, VERY hot and stuffy room as the window would only open a little ways before being caught on the curtain rod. Not to mention, the noise from the street made sleeping difficult even if we could open the window more. You cannot hear the street with the window closed though, but the room was so stuffy and hot we couldn't keep it shut . It was the most uncomfortable night in a hotel we've ever spent. However, we didn't know how to ask if our two remaining nights could be refunded since we were unable to switch rooms and therefore wanted to find an alternate hotel. The next morning we talked with the front desk attendant and he said there they were having a technician come look at it but he didn't know what time (this was our last day in Paris and we had planned to rest in the room a lot in advance of our 10+ flight home). There was also no guarantee it would be fix and we would still be unable to move rooms. At this point we asked for a refund for the last day/night as we were going to find a different hotel. We were told they couldn't or wouldn't refund that last night we wouldn't be there for. We were frustrated by the lack of help and options for fixing the problem; at most we felt they could have refunded our last night that we ended up not being able to stay there for. We had to shell out extra for another hotel. If the air conditioning hadn't broken and/or there had been options to fix it or more rooms we would have enjoyed staying there. Also, I would avoid room 406 unless you like hearing your neighbors' every conversation. Be specific if you want a room away from the street near the courtyard.
Excellent location with the subway by the doorstep. The breakfast was generous and delicious and the concierge went out of his way to give us directions and suggestions. The room was cosy - may be even too cosy but needless to say, great value for money especially during what was peak season.
We stayed for two nights and it was just lovely. We had a tiny little room but it was very snug! The only thing is that from our room you could hear the underground train and it kept me up the first two night but I then got used to it. Breakfast was just lovely and was included in the price! Loved it here thank you for a lovely stay!
We visited for 3 nights in a standard double . I had a couple of questions before arrival and hotel gave a speedy & helpful response . We received a warm welcome & check in smooth . The reception area is charming . Our room was on the 3rd floor in the corner of the building . Yes , the room was small , but did have adequate space , it was very clean, stylishly decorated and well maintained . Really good shower ! It's a busy street and it is noisy , however , we found the sound proofing worked well when needed, although it was nice to sit and listen to the hustle & bustle of a Paris street as well The area is great . A few meters from Pernety metro , patisseries & supermarket close by . Also there are some very good restaurants within walking distance offering excellent cuisine & atmosphere without the 'touristy' feel ( or price tag ) We flew into Orly & the hotel was easy to access ( only 30 mins & 35 Euros for a taxi / uber ) We didn't try the breakfast , but it was nice that refreshments were available in the breakfast area all day For the price of the hotel , I think it would be a struggle to find a nicer room in a better area in Paris We would certainly book again
The 2 best things about the hotel are the fact that it is so well located (1 minute walk to a metro station) and that there is an excellent french bakery and wine shop opposite the property! I spent a lot of time sitting in the lobby next to the gorgeous fireplace eating fresh croissants from across the street!...best way to start the day. The rooms are tiny but very functional. The shower is great but the water doesn't get as hot as I would like it to be.
