Lovely little hotel. Not the best of areas but convenient and very well appointed. Kind staff and room was spacious, clean and nicely furnished. Very happy with our choice and would happily book again.
Ok hotel but nothing special about this place. I can't really recommend it or not recommend it. It's average. The rooms are clean. The service is ok. The breakfast is ok. Really not much to say about it.
Location was ideal with 3 metro lines within 1 minutes away from hotel. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Room was on the small side however we spent our visit seeing the city so this didn't matter to us.
Pros: The hotel is very clean with huge bathroom and love the shower. The lobby receptionist guy is welcoming and nice. I got a room with the view. CONS: The hotel is located very far from the centre of all activities that we need to walk 2 kms. to get to our destination. area is in a scary location in terms of people you get to see around. Too noisy drunks at night til wee hours in the morning that you really cannot get to sleep. I just don't feel safe in this area. Breakfast is too expensive at $15/person. no complimentary coffee inside the room. no clock, side table is so small and no lampshades. Paris is awake at night but not early in the morning so you can't get any fastfood or resto open early for breakfast. we ended up taking McDonald's and imagine that it was already 9 a.m. and we are starving already. We took the subway from Gare du Nord and can't believe that their subway is so filthy and scary. When we reached our destination, group of guys appeared to be drunk or in drugs are blocking the train station and I told my husband not to get to this subway again in coming back to Gare Du Nord. I got so paranoid. Maybe that is the reason why the reception controls the door that you have to buzz the door before you can enter especially at night. On the day of check-out, their elevator was not working so we need to carry our luggage from the 2nd floor down to the very skinny stairs.
My wife bs I stayed here let December 2016 and loved the place. This 100 year building was well appointed and the room we had was ample in size and cleanliness was great. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They all spoke English really well and they new their end of Paris very well also. We found this a good location for the louvre and other art galleries. We were recommended by the staff a visit to the Christmas markets and we can say this was one of the highlights for us. Can recommend this hotel to all.
Small (but not too small), very atmospheric and well-decorated rooms. The receptionists and general service was sublime and very helpful. The neighborhood was somewhat sketchy, but some people will properly find this delightful, since this is not at all tourist area. We didn't try the breakfast, since it seemed a little pricy.
This was my first trip to Paris and I was advised by a friend to stay in Opera. Hotel Regina Opera was offered at a good deal on lastminute.com. I checked Trip Advisor and was under the impression that this hotel was near Opera and had a view of the Eiffel Tower. I learned later, from a cab driver, that there is a Regina Hotel closer to Opera and the Louvre with a view of the Eiffel Tower. To give you an idea of the stark difference between the two, even the cab driver said "Ooooh! No! No! No!" when he pulled up to this Hotel Regina Opera. To be fair, it wasn't a bad hotel experience and I did learn a very valuable lesson about hotels in Paris based on this (look up the addresses of all hotels in Paris and then comb through Trip Advisor). Pros: -Clean -Friendly staff -Close to train station -Walkable from Gare du Nord Items to note: -Elevator was broken for one day -WiFi connection is weak -Not that close to Opera -Neighborhood feels a bit dodgy and can get loud at night (two bars outside) -Not really walkable to any tourist sites -Walls are not sound proof (you can hear cleaning staff pretty early on in the day) -Hallways are small, so if you come and go while the cleaning staff is cleaning, expect to have to squeeze your way past laundry bags or ride the elevator with laundry bags -Hallway lights are motion activated, so it can feel a bit like a scene from The Shining
The hotel is in a good location, next to the metro station. Had some problems with the bathroom - during the shower the water was going out on the floor. Informed the recepcionist and we changed our room to better. It's better to avoid breakfast in the morning because the buffet is poor and is not worth for the paid money. In general, everything was fine, we were very happy that the hotel was located in a safe area. Pay attention while booking a hotel in Paris that safe area is very important!
Comfortable, pleasantly decorated and well furnished hotel, room and bathroom. Welcoming and efficient staff. Good breakfast. Easy to reach by metro, good neighborhood. I enjoyed my stay and recommend the hotel without hesitation.
Traveled to Paris from London last minute for a mini vacation. Friends and I booked this hotel based on the photos and some reviews. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a rude gentleman who refused to let the 3 of us share a double beds room. We explained that we would feel more comfortable and safe, since we are all female, yet he completely refused. We tried talking with management, but we weren't able to receive any help. Since we booked through a 3rd party (Priceline), we needed to contact them, but the internet was not working, so we could not access any phone numbers. Unfortunately, the hotel was not near any other places where we could use WiFi. Further, right outside the hotel entrance, there were many loiters offering my friends and I cigarettes, among other things. We did not feel safe at all! We ended up leaving, receiving no refund, and booking Hotel du Collectionneur. I would not recommend Regina Opera to anyone.
