Hotel de Vigny5.0 out of 5.0

We visited Paris and stayed at Hotel de Vigny, in my experience I would say it definitely doesn’t deserve a 5 star rating but a solid 4 star instead the reasons are: Bad Points. 1) The whole property needs a renovation, it looks old and tired. 2) The rooms are small (normal for Europe) but the whole decor and furniture looks terribly old also and even some chairs dirty, don’t get me wrong, it must have been really nice when new but they need to be restored. 3) The breakfast is terrible and expensive so go somewhere else instead. 4) doesn’t have spa or any additional amenities. Good Things. 1) Pricing 2) Restaurant for lunch or dinner (not breakfast) 3) Location.- very very close to Arc du Triumph and Champs Élysées 4) Service .- although the front desk or reception people also function as Concierge and operator and customer service they are great and very knowledgeable and very willing to help in everything I requested. Due to price and location I would consider going back in the future
Great location, very friendly staff and the room was very comfortable . We ate in the lovely restaurant and met with the chef. Room was very spacious and also very quiet which is what we wanted. Thanks for the upgrade.
the hotel offered very high price with very low and very old furniture hotel. although its location is very good, however, the furniture and facilities of the hotel are very poor. I was really shocked when I saw such poor quality hotel in the heart of Paris that has 5 stars.
We had a 5 day stay in Paris and decided that we would venture out of our usual haunt in Place Vendome and try somewhere new and came across De Vigny, which is a stones throw from the Champs Elysee and the Arc de Triumph. The area itself is teaming with international visitors and is very very busy. very different vibe than we are used to but thats fine. When we checked in, the bellman and concierge welcomed us, the staff at the hotel are very friendly and clearly care a lot about what they do. We were shown to our room and upon opening the door, we knew this stay would be a very different one. The room were given on the first floor was revolting, the bed was very old and had large dark brown stains on the yellow headboard. The armchair was badly broken, so much so that you couldn't sit in it without fear of it collapsing. It was dark, small and had a distinct smell of a butcher shop, bleach and raw meat... just gross! We mentioned to the concierge that we were not happy and she promptly moved us to room 105, also on the first floor and it was much better. still old and dated, but clean and tidy. We didn't try the room service or the breakfast as it was so horribly overpriced, but my parter became ill and i called down to reception for some hot water with lemon and honey which arrived quite quickly. But at 9 Euros it was an expensive cup of hot water with condiments.. needless to say we didn't do that again! Overall this hotel is suitable if you want to be close to the late night shops on the Champs Elysee and i guess if you have work around that area, but we will defiantly be back in Place Vendome next year where the shopping is better, hotels cleaner and less strange, and the restaurants are far, far better and more affordable. One thing i can say is that the staff tried their best to keep them happy ad i commend them for that. They are very professional and id love to see them working in a true 5 star hotel int he near future!
This hotel is very well located, walking distance from Champs Elise and Arc de Triumphe, but it is old and needs maintainence in the rooms, walls and carpets are stained and the furniture is old and damaged, it is a shame since the concierges and the front desk people are just the nicest people, helpful and engaged in their job. Housekeeping is not very efficient since we got to our room and found some stinky socks from the previous guest in the sofa! And during our stay they just did the basic, beds and regularly done bathrooms but not much of cleaning at all. If you decide to stay here, ask for the corner triple rooms they are a lot more spacious and have more light!
I would definitely stay here again. The staff was professional, helpful, and friendly which I expect but I don't expect them to know my name after the first night. Best of all is the location. Literally only 2 blocks from Champs-Elysee and the subway / bus stations but tucked away from the crowds. I almost didn't leave the review so I can keep this secret gem to myself.
Lovely atmosphere, an oasis of quiet in the city centre. Initial impression is of a well appointed boutique hotel. Attentive, friendly staff at reception. Room was (city-)spacious, high-spec and clean. Continental breakfast should satisfy anyone. Happy to stay here again.
we enjoyed our stay in the hotel on a very nice room ., very good service , clean . the elevator wood floor must be treated and renew, except that we had a pleasant short visit. the reception and staff was very helpful and kind
We absolutely loved our (far too short!) stay here! After the long flight to stunning Paris arriving here and seeing welcoming smiles was heaven. All the staff went out of their way to make sure everything was good for us and after a hard days sightseeing it really felt great to go back there to rest in true French style. The location is perfect. Just off the Champs Élysées so you can walk, shop and dine to your hearts content, but just one street back so there is no noise at all. The restaurant in the hotel is just fabulous, with breakfast served there every morning being one of my favourite parts of our holiday. We were sad to leave and definitely hope to return one day.
The wiring of the plugs in the room was not done properly. Some plugs worked and some did not. Bathroom needs modernising. The plug hole in the bath hardlyleg any water out. Not a good experience. The restaurant within the hotel was way too expensive for it was. You can get much much better food outside for half the price. Some staff were unhelpful and just lazy
