First impressions of this hotel were very good, friendly staff and super chic french interior very much to my style and taste. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. The bathroom was elegant I enjoyed using the White Company bath products. The bed was super comfortable I had such a good sleep!. The location is perfect! just off the busy Champs Elysees and near to two main metro station. This hotel is also close to a hop on hop off tour bus stop too! I agree with some of the comments on trip advisor, although I think the dated look adds to the charm of the hotel, the price does not reflect this. Therefore, I think this hotel needs a re-vamp. The service was really good. However, I wasn't too happy that I had to pay 5 euros to have milk in the room, what is the point in having free drink making facilities if you can't make a drink without paying for milk? The curtains in our room needed fixing, this didn't bother me! I just thought it would be worth mentioning, this is probably due to the material being so heavy. You could tell that the fixtures in the bathroom were really worn, especially the ceramics on the taps/ shower head. Nevertheless, I would certainly come back to this hotel.
De Vigny Hotel is in a great location and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated on a street just off the main Champs Elysees high street full of shops and a 5 min walk from the Arc de Triomphe. Unfortunately however on entry of the hotel it soon becomes apparent that the hotel is in great need of a refurb. The decor is shabby and the furniture is highly worn which is a real shame as the hotel really has great potential. On a good note the bed was very comfy and the hotel offers a good sized room and an ensuite bathroom offering a bath and high end toiletries. In summary the stay was pleasant however unfortunately far from the standards expected of a 5 star hotel in Paris. I would definitely stay at the hotel again but only following refurbishment works.
It is not a five star hotel. However, I like the hotel. The location is great. We got a nice room, small but very comfortable. The breakfast was good. The service was very good, and the staff are very friendly. Compare to others hotels in Paris the price is moderate. Overall, I enjoyed stayed at the hotel, and would consider going back in my future visit in Paris.
Great location, just a 5 minute walk to the Arc de Triumph. BUT, this place is small and completely worn out. Small room that you cannot have any suitcases left out. The fabric on the desk chair is completely worn through and has a disgusting coffee stain on the seat. The TV won't open any english speaking channels. The bathroom is very water damaged. The internet works....there....something positive.
We visited Paris and stayed at Hotel de Vigny, in my experience I would say it definitely doesn’t deserve a 5 star rating but a solid 4 star instead the reasons are: Bad Points. 1) The whole property needs a renovation, it looks old and tired. 2) The rooms are small (normal for Europe) but the whole decor and furniture looks terribly old also and even some chairs dirty, don’t get me wrong, it must have been really nice when new but they need to be restored. 3) The breakfast is terrible and expensive so go somewhere else instead. 4) doesn’t have spa or any additional amenities. Good Things. 1) Pricing 2) Restaurant for lunch or dinner (not breakfast) 3) Location.- very very close to Arc du Triumph and Champs Élysées 4) Service .- although the front desk or reception people also function as Concierge and operator and customer service they are great and very knowledgeable and very willing to help in everything I requested. Due to price and location I would consider going back in the future
Great location, very friendly staff and the room was very comfortable . We ate in the lovely restaurant and met with the chef. Room was very spacious and also very quiet which is what we wanted. Thanks for the upgrade.
the hotel offered very high price with very low and very old furniture hotel. although its location is very good, however, the furniture and facilities of the hotel are very poor. I was really shocked when I saw such poor quality hotel in the heart of Paris that has 5 stars.
We had a 5 day stay in Paris and decided that we would venture out of our usual haunt in Place Vendome and try somewhere new and came across De Vigny, which is a stones throw from the Champs Elysee and the Arc de Triumph. The area itself is teaming with international visitors and is very very busy. very different vibe than we are used to but thats fine. When we checked in, the bellman and concierge welcomed us, the staff at the hotel are very friendly and clearly care a lot about what they do. We were shown to our room and upon opening the door, we knew this stay would be a very different one. The room were given on the first floor was revolting, the bed was very old and had large dark brown stains on the yellow headboard. The armchair was badly broken, so much so that you couldn't sit in it without fear of it collapsing. It was dark, small and had a distinct smell of a butcher shop, bleach and raw meat... just gross! We mentioned to the concierge that we were not happy and she promptly moved us to room 105, also on the first floor and it was much better. still old and dated, but clean and tidy. We didn't try the room service or the breakfast as it was so horribly overpriced, but my parter became ill and i called down to reception for some hot water with lemon and honey which arrived quite quickly. But at 9 Euros it was an expensive cup of hot water with condiments.. needless to say we didn't do that again! Overall this hotel is suitable if you want to be close to the late night shops on the Champs Elysee and i guess if you have work around that area, but we will defiantly be back in Place Vendome next year where the shopping is better, hotels cleaner and less strange, and the restaurants are far, far better and more affordable. One thing i can say is that the staff tried their best to keep them happy ad i commend them for that. They are very professional and id love to see them working in a true 5 star hotel int he near future!
This hotel is very well located, walking distance from Champs Elise and Arc de Triumphe, but it is old and needs maintainence in the rooms, walls and carpets are stained and the furniture is old and damaged, it is a shame since the concierges and the front desk people are just the nicest people, helpful and engaged in their job. Housekeeping is not very efficient since we got to our room and found some stinky socks from the previous guest in the sofa! And during our stay they just did the basic, beds and regularly done bathrooms but not much of cleaning at all. If you decide to stay here, ask for the corner triple rooms they are a lot more spacious and have more light!
I would definitely stay here again. The staff was professional, helpful, and friendly which I expect but I don't expect them to know my name after the first night. Best of all is the location. Literally only 2 blocks from Champs-Elysee and the subway / bus stations but tucked away from the crowds. I almost didn't leave the review so I can keep this secret gem to myself.
