Best Western Villa Des Artistes

We stayed six nights and had upgraded our room to a "deluxe with garden view" with a queen sized bed. The fifth (top) floor room was well decorated and larger than many European or NYC hotel rooms. The "garden view" was somewhat disappointing--consisting mostly of rooftops and, if we got close to the window and looked straight down, oh, yes, there is some foliage down there. No matter, we didn't spend many daylight hours in the room. It was comfortable, clean and equipped with mini-fridge and hot water pot (not a coffee pot, but you could heat water and make tea easily or coffee with the proper equipment--(we use "Brew Buddy" for individual cups of brewed coffee.) There was a flat TV and free wifi that worked very well. The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved all of it!

Practical clean and comfortable for the price I paid. If it is more than 80€, then it would be rated differently.

We were in this hotel for 5 nights. Modern room, friendly staff, great location, nice restaurants around makes this a perfect choice. Will definitely recommend...

We were surprised by how nice this hotel really was. The photos don't do it justice. The location is fantastic- there is a metro station just down the street and it is about a five minute walk to Luxembourg Gardens. There are tons of restaurants nearby, ATMs, and even a small grocery store. The hotel staff is very helpful with questions and also arranged transport to the airport for us. When we didn't need our room cleaned, they called to make sure we had enough towels and had everything we needed. The room was fairly large, which is apparently hard to come by in Paris. The only downside to the hotel was the view out the window was a wall, but there was a mural of the sky painted on it, so that was much better than looking at concrete. The hallways are pretty narrow and difficult to move suitcases through, but it is an old building and the room was spacious, so it made up for it. We didn't have any food at the hotel, so I can't comment on it, but I didn't have one bad meal in all of Paris, so my guess is that it would be fine. I would love to stay there again and recommend it.

Convenient access to transportation, restaurants and shops.

Wonderful, clean, hotel with easy access to multiple metro lines. Excellent, affordable restaurants and bakery nearby. Would definitely stay here again, extremely clean and well kept, very near beautiful Luxembourg gardens.

The hotel was in excellent order, the classic room was small, but suitable for our 9 night stay. The bathroom was large by Parisian standards, all had been newly remodeled and the shower was very good. The room had a kettle, so coffee/tea in the room was great in the morning, a delicious bakery was just around the corner. We had room 507, with wonderful blackout drapes, and it could not have been a quieter room, even slept with window open a few nights. There are several eateries, atm, and metros all within a block or two. Room equipped with hair dryer. Bed was comfortable, quality linens. Staff was most accommodating, wifi in room worked well. Would definitely stay here again.

I came for a business conference and. The hotel made it absolutely excellent trip. A small street near a big street with metro stations right around the corner and great restaurants all over… Clean with very good breakfast.. It was a great experience..!!!

Hotel is a petite boutique hotel, a short walk to Luxembourg Gardens, rooms are clean and updated, nice bathrooms. Staff was excellent, friendly and most helpful.

This Best Western offered perfectly adequate, very clean rooms close to the action of the Montparnasse neighborhood. Staff was, with one exception, willing and anxious to help.

Located close to metro stations and in the beautiful Montparnasse area. Roomy sized for European standards and clean easy access.

The room was adequate and clean. As for location, it was fine if you want to be near the brasseries on the Blvd Montparnasse, otherwise not so much. The foremost drawback is that breakfast was not included and was vastly overpriced: 16 Euros! Come on! It should have been 10.

We had a good experience at the Villa Des Artistes. The rooms are small but clean and nicely decorated. The staff was helpful and pleasant. A suggestion: please change locks so that more than one key may be provided to clients: with the fire doors, a single key makes access challenging (and such a limitation is very unusual nowadays).

The hotel was easy to find, European sized, but clean and comfortable. Good value.

We really appreciated the cleanliness of this hotel, the convenience to bus/ train depots, and the comfort and quiet after a long day of sightseeing in Paris. Staff was exceptionally helpful with answering questions about travel routes and destinations in the outlying areas of Paris.

Located within 100m of Vavin Metro station makes sightseeing thoughout Paris easy. Vavin station is surrounded by the best of Left Bank bistros. Very close to Luxembourg Gardens as well.

I don't spend much time in my room in Paris; the rooms were small but well-appointed, very comfortable and lacking nothing. Staff was very helpful, but be sure to ask how the lights operate. Until I realized I needed to insert the room key into the slot on the wall, I couldn't turn on the lights in my room!

For the amount we paid, we expected something better. The rooms were clean but the bathtub was clogged (I showered while standing in an inch or so of water). The staff was friendly, and they let us check in earlier than the stated time; they're very patient and will try their best to understand your English. The location was nice in the fact that it's about a minute walk away from the metro, HOWEVER, if you're planning on spending a lot of time in the "main" city, be prepared for a 45min-1hour ride each way (it's especially annoying since when we went, the 9 train was out of commission, so we had to transfer a lot). Overall, the hotel was decent, but for the price we paid, not worth it. Don't stay here if you're strapped for time and have a huge list of to-dos.

I cannot believe we stayed in the same place that some of the negative reviewers described. We thoroughly enjoyed our comfortable stay and buffet breakfasts but we were not expecting robes, slippers and room service. So don't stay here if you want to stay in the hotel room, swim in the pool or exercise on the equipment(walking was sufficient for us) during your trip to Paris.

We were initially impressed with the location. Our first room had no running water at all. The receptionist was rude as if it were our problem. Finally changed a room to a downgrade, unrenovated with two twin beds even though we reserved a queen. Other receptionists tried harder to provide info but were generally clueless, even at the level of providing basic directions. Decent accomodation but overpriced for what you get.
