We paid extra to get early checkin at 13:00, but the cleaning person was still in there and showed me her schedule on her phone that said we weren’t due to arrive until 16:00. We waited about 10 mins or so outside while she quickly finished. While outside, we had the bus stop directly in front of the door, not more than 6-7 feet away. Three men were sitting there, facing our door, drinking alcohol, talking loudly and playing loud music. Once we got in, we could clearly hear the men partying on the bench. We dropped our bags and immediately left for a short trip to Normandy. We returned two days later (we got stuck in Normandy because of train cancellations) and really looked at the flat for the first time. The flat looked to us like it had been a shop front made into a flat. Lots of frosted glass on the street-level front walls that let in noise and didn’t feel secure- I could hear a person cough while waiting at the bus stop. We used the shower and noticed it didn’t drain well and may have flooded before, as the floor in the adjacent eating area showed damage. We looked around the flat and also noticed there were two framed pieces of art that were broken and just left off the walls; the rug upstairs was stained; a piece of the geometric headboard had fallen off the wall (it had only been glued on); there were cobwebs and a spider in one window; paint was coming off the stair treads; etc. We left and found a hotel. Don’t waste your money here!
