It's just 5 mins walk from the main train station and there's a mini mart and pizza kebab kiosk opposite the hotel which closes at 10pm and 4am respectively. We were generally pleased with our double & triple room on the 3rd and 4th floor. Filled with comfortable beds and fluffy pillows, they also accommodated to our extra pillows with self-collection at reception. Complimentary small bottle of water and we were able to wash and dry our clothes using the heating rack in the toilet. However, throughout our 5 days stay here, we had to repeatedly request for shower towels and collect from the reception on the first floor as the house-keeping keep replacing it with facial towels. They didn't even bother to fill the almost-depleting shower gel. There's a design fault with the showering area with water spilling on the main toilet floor without any curtains or cover (refer to photo). Imagine the hustle of going up and down with a slow lift of max. 3 pax for daily shower towels. Not forgetting, it's pretty noisy at night as there's a backpacker inn right opposite with this area's least-security streets filled with boisterious black groups loitering around at night. Oh yeah, very bad and slow WiFi... Overall, we felt that for this price point of €140 per night, we could had a more welcoming and accomdating hotel experience in Paris.
I could see the hotel from the main station. Looked after our luggage as we had a arrived early at no cost. Room was small but sufficient and clean. Breakfast was extra but disappointing, better going to a local cafe. Reception staff very friendly and as we didn't get to do every thing in Paris, we shall return and make this our first choice.
Stayed in this hotel in April 2017. Central and close to transportation hub i.e. Metro and major trains to Brussels, Amsterdam and London. Plenty halal establishments around. Plenty groceries store around. Some may be wary of the typically noisy and some may say rowdy atmosphere of Gare du Nord but I think it's part of the charm of the area. No security concerns. Internally, beautifully done, rustic feel. Have 1 small triangular lift. That means limited transfer of people at a time. I was on a holiday so it was not exactly a concern for me. Thought it was charming. Alternatively a spiral staircase. Was assigned a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking Gare du Nord. Enjoyed my late nights looking out the area. Beautiful though noisy. The wifi was unstable and sometimes slow. If there's anything to be improved for me, it is this limitation. Though honestly it was not a major concern as alternatively, there's a computer terminal in the lobby with a unique keyboard. I don't think it was a qwerty. Friendly and accommodating staff. Checked us in once room was available in the afternoon, I would say slightly earlier than the official check-in time. Helped us with our airline check-in. Made restaurant reservation for us. Only managed to learn Nadia's name.
My son and I stayed for 3 nights early May. Convenient location. There are train stations on every turn so there is no need for taxis. My only complaint is that it was warm. The weather was still quite chilly at night but, the hotel was a bit warm. I understand the thermostat was on a timer so there was no way to adjust for air. We slept with the balcony door open but, it would become quite noisy outside so we would have to close it. Front desk personnel were friendly and helpful.
We stayed here for one night when meeting a friend from London before we flew back to Canada from CDG. The location is extremely convenient for stations, airports, restaurants and bars. Exactly what we needed. The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. The only complaint that I would have is that my friend who was staying alone paid less than my partner and I for a single room, but her room was in fact substantially bigger than ours. In our room it was difficult to fit both suitcases. I'm intrigued as to how this process works, and how it ended up that we paid more for a smaller room? Otherwise great value for money and I would stay there again.
The hotel is situated in the perfect location just a minute walk from the Gare Du Nord. This means when you arrive (if traveling by Eurostar) you can drop off your luggage and continue your day just as we did. Everywhere is easily accessible to anywhere you wish to go to in Paris by the metro or RER from the Gare Du Nord. We travelled to the further end of Paris and it was reasonably priced and easily found. The hotel is welcoming, helpful and clean!! The rooms may be small but you don't spend much time in them anyway. They are sufficient. There is free wifi which is actually of good quality and served its purpose to us. I would recommend taking your own hairdryer though as the one provided didn't look great (I can't comment though as I didn't use it). The hotel is located on a busy road so if you aren't a fan a noise this may be a problem. This didn't affect me however as I felt the rooms were pretty sound proof. Another great point is that we had to check out at 12 but our train wasn't until 4 and the hotel let us keep our luggage in a baggage room so we could wonder round easily for the day. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel as there as so many cafes around. Overall a great stay in a great location. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.
Everything alright, besides the rooms facing the main road...pretty noisy during the night for People who keep the window open. With Windows closed, sleepting Quality is good for paris Center accomodation.
Chose this hotel due to its proximity to Gare du Nord (5 mins easy walk) and the previous good reviews on Trip Advisor. Friendly and efficient welcome on check in and we were allocated two adjacent double rooms. (Chose two doubles for single use rather two singles to avoid smaller rooms). We had 55 and 56 which both had full size double beds and also two large floor to ceiling windows which opened to allow for ventilation, although closed overnight due to noise from street below. However once closed noise greatly reduced and heard very little from outside overnight. Bathrooms had bathtub with shower at one end. Unfortunately the design of shower holder only allowed water to be directed straight down, so unless you wanted to hold shower head you had to carefully avoid stepping on plug area and possibly hurting your feet. Multichannel TV but only one in English - BBC World which was no 32 despite printed list saying it was 34. Wifi (free) required you to log in each time of use which wasn't a problem, although better not to have to do this a few times a day. Signal appeared strong but speed was never very good. OK for emails but browsing was very sluggish most times during the day. The lift (only one) really is very small as mentioned in other reviews. However, there is no way of installing a larger one without major building works. Notice inside stated 3 persons which may only be achieved by being very good friends and not having any luggage. There is a spiral type staircase though so a good way to keep fit. Cleanliness was just OK. Surfaces looked as though they had been brushed quickly with a duster but seemed in need of a good polish as marks could be seen. Linen on bed very clean and although bed seemed fairly firm I got a good night's sleep. There is an air conditioning control, but all I managed to make it do was turn the fan on. Not a problem being able to open the windows so didn't query with front desk. May be the cooling system not yet turned on. The local area is not the best but at the times we were out and about during daylight and early evening hours never felt threatened or unsafe. Whether that applies overnight too I don't know, but as long as you are 'street smart' shouldn't be a problem. Would certainly return here if coming back to Paris by Eurostar. We didn't take breakfast in hotel as there is plenty of choice locally. Gare de l'Est is only a 5 minute walk away and there are plenty of eating places on the way and on station itself together with an M&S food store open till late. Gare du Nord didn't have anywhere near as many places to eat or purchase snacks as there seemed to be a lot of building work going on where the shops/restaurants should be. A photo of floor plan of 5th floor is posted to show the varying shapes and sizes of rooms. Some have one window but many have 2, and 56 has a dual aspect at the 'sharp end' of hotel. Only the 5th floor has outside balconies though.
Just a few steps away from Gare de Nord. Area is bustling but may appear a bit sketchy due to the shear number of people. We always felt safe walking around at all hours of the day/night. Rooms: basic, clean, maybe a little small but it is Europe after all. Beds are comfortable and clean. Check in: easy and friendly. Security: the reception takes your key card after you leave for the day. Coming back late requires you to buzz in and wait for the reception to let you in. Breakfast: wonderful. Includes meat and cheese platter, fresh fruit, dried fruit, cereals, scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit spreads for breads, croissants, cereals. Coffee, tea, and nesquick. Pretty good spread for an included breakfast.
Hotel is intimate but nicely furnished and comfortable. It's very convenient to Gare du Nord fir a quick RER B ride to CDG Airport. Staff is helpful and friendly. We've stayed several times in and out of Paris and it has never disappointed us.
