Holiday trip for 3 days to Paris, central hotel not on a noisy street , Hotel Albert 1er was the perfect choice. After a 16 hour overnight flight the bed was like sleeping on a warm cloud!. Reasonable breakfast but the most accommodating and polite staff made this s very special hotel.
We stayed here for a long weekend. It is very near Gare Du Nord, so just a 35 minute RER ride (€10.30) from CDG airport. It is just off a main road in and out of the city so has great transport links, although we walked everywhere. The one downside of this is that it was a little noisy on the Saturday night, but this was to be expected for such a location. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the size better than we had expected for Paris. Staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. You do hand your room key in each time you leave but this wasn’t an issue and means you can’t lose it when you are out. There were plenty of good restaurants within about 10 minutes walk.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Albert - the location is great, so close to Gate du Nord. We were able to walk to Montmartre and Sacre Coeur. The rooms were lovely and clean, the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious! We would definitely stay here again!!
I went with my partner for a short break to Paris and we choose this hotel to stay in. It is a good location because it’s near Gare du Nord and also there are many buses going to centre of Paris also 32 minute away from the airport Charles du Gaulle. The hotel is really cozy and clean. Staff was nice and gave us instructions how to go where we needed. But I didn’t like the area at all. I felt like in Peckham in London.
This hotel is very close to the Gare Du Nord train/metro station, and it’s easy to get everywhere. You can walk to Montmartre from this hotel or get the metro to that area. The room was very small but very cosy, you can turn up the heat in your room, the bathtub was a bit on the small side, so no full body soak, the view was great as we where on the 2nd floor with a front balcony. The staff were very nice and helpful. One thing about the room was, the TV remote was so small, there was no select button to connect to your USB drive to watch movies, so CNN only if you don’t speak or hear French. Gare Du Nord area looks rough with people everywhere rushing to go somewhere or the other. We didn’t include breakfast to our package, so I can’t comment on that. It’s was a lovely 2 days stay.
We got a good deal for Eurostar and hotel so no complaints on value! Easy walking distance from the Gare du Nord and a huge variety of Restaurants, Brasseries and little shops. From the Gare du Nord you can catch metro, RER or buses to anywhere in Paris, so this is a great location for sightseeing. The hotel has friendly, helpful Staff and is clean and comfortable. You are situated on a road near a busy station but, with the windows shut, there is not much noise We were on floor 6 so very dependent on the lift which didn't inspire confidence! One morning it was not working so we had a long trek down the stairs!
I stayed here for five nights with my partner. The room is small but we only really used it as a place to sleep as there are so many things to do in Paris, so this wasn't a problem. The room was cleaned every day with fresh towels. We found the staff on reception really welcoming and helpful throughout our stay (also spoke very good english). The only issue we had with the room was the shower often went from cold to very very hot and it was quite noisy but we used earplugs and it was fine. The hotel is very close to Gare du Nord which was very useful for getting around the city and there was a nice patisserie just across the road from the hotel. There are also plenty of restaurants in the area. It was my first time abroad and we really enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back.
Good location next to the train station. Ideal for access to the metro to get to the sights of Paris. Small but comfortable room which is fine as most of the time is spent exploring the city. However, at night, it was incredibly noisy and resulted in a sleepless night for me which was a shame. This was the only downside to the location. It's not the best of areas in Paris but access to transport is a plus here. There seemed to be quite a lot of nightlife going on, lots of people shouting in the streets etc and also, you can hear everything going on in the hotel. I could hear people walking up and down the stairs and corridors and doors slamming shut. Needless to say I didn't sleep well. Staff were mostly helpful, I had forgotten my phone charger and was able to borrow one from reception with a deposit which was very helpful. The only other issue I had was on the second day, my room was cleaned but they did not leave my towels, I went to reception and they gave me towels I had to take back to the room myself. Not a bad stay all in all, I would just recommend earplugs for the night!
Pros: Budget hotel near the main train station, conveniently located. We booked an overnight stay here as our Thalys ride was at 7am the next day. Front desk staff very helpful and accommodating. Rooms are typical for a budget hotel in Paris ( small beds, small bathroom ) but comfortable. Cons: not so much, just the ultra-tight elevator ( can fit just 2 people with 1 luggage ). No breakfast option.
My fiance and I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. It was exactly what we expected for the price. No frills, but a clean place to sleep at night. It is loud with the window open since it's so close to the train station. If you have trouble with noise it might not be the place for you. Our AC didn't work so the only way to cool down the room was to open the window. The rooms are small. These things we expected. Our only real complaint was the the shower. The water temperature would fluctuate from being comfortable to scalding without notice, most likely because someone elsewhere flushed a toilet or turned on the tap. It was definitely hot enough to burn you. In fact, we both literally leapt out of the shower several times. The location is fantastic since you are across the street from Gare du Nord and a short walk from Gare de l'est.
