We had breakfast at the Panamonte and were amazed with the swedish pancakes they offered for breakfast. The entire family had them with hot chocolate. After breakfast, my kids went out to the Hotel's patio and had a ball playing outside, the setting in the hotel was great.

We spent five nights in this graceful “country” inn in Boquete, Panama, built circa 1907. However, the Panamonte is riding on its reputation to some degree. Long a fixture in Boquete, the hotel is getting long in the tooth, beautiful gardens, spectacular bathrooms and great food, but getting sloppy in some areas. Breakfast is very slow & disjointed. The slowness was exacerbated by the fact that we do not speak Spanish and the morning staff is primarily uni-lingual. Also, as no menu is presented, - the ordering process is extended. We were advised that the Eggs Benedict are the best in Panama, but after five minutes the waiter reappeared, - Eggs Benedict NO, so my wife ordered an omelet, five minutes later, - omelet NO, - so fried was the order, and, - of course, - they came with solid yolks. Disjointed, - butter was placed on the side-plates, but toast did not appear until we were halfway through our breakfast. The staff is pleasant, friendly & willing, BUT largely untrained. There is no coffee paraphernalia in the room, nor is there coffee in the lobby, so coffee is not available until about 7.00am - be warned if you have an early start! The kitchen under Charlie Collins turns out the best food in Boquete. For dinner I recommend the pork-belly appetizer and the grilled pork chop. The pork-belly is especially good. The bar has great ambience, and the full dinner menu is available. Great fireplaces in the bar and on the patio. The introduction of an on-site manager for six months with a focus on training would do much to raise the hotel to the high standards set by the kitchen, the gardens and the new bathrooms

We didn't stay at the hotel but we enjoyed dinner at the wonderful Resturant and Bar! Excellent service from Jorge, who also made good wine recommendations from their large selection of quality wines from their cellar.

My wife and I stayed here 3 nights in January 2017. This is a small hotel with two unit cottages surrounding gardens that are full of butterflies and hummingbirds, and a few rooms on the second story of the main building. We had booked something our travel agent called the Suite Deluxe with king bed. The room was lovely. Newly renovated with the king bed, a huge flat screen TV and a shower approximately the size of my living room. It is the only shower I have ever seen that has five (5) shower heads! Perfect, except, the room is on the second floor of the main building directly over the kitchen with no balcony and windows only on the afternoon sun side so no airflow through the room. When I am in the tropics I really like to be able to sit outside and enjoy a drink in the evening. We spent the first night in that room and the next day I contacted my travel agent about getting moved. Less than half an hour after I emailed him they were moving us to one of the cottages. These are beautiful units with porches and huge bathrooms (only one shower head, however). The grounds are very well maintained but I cannot say the same for the rooms. As I said, the first room appeared newly renovated, however the cottage room had some serious mold issues in the bathroom and closet and the throw rugs in both the bedroom and bathroom were filthy. They do not have coffee makers in the rooms, or in the lobby, so you can't get coffee until the restaurant wait staff arrives for the 7 AM breakfast. We had some early tours so coffee at 6 was in order but not available. There was no information card in the room and they do not provide any laundry service. The front desk people were less than helpful when I asked about how to get laundry done. One of our tour guides pointed out a laundry downtown so we carried our dirty clothes there. Eight bucks for 4 days worth of laundry and they did it the same day. The food in the restaurant and drinks at the bar were fine. At one time The Panamonte was probably a fantastic place to stay but the owners really need to invest in some renovations and update their amenities. I understand why Tripadvisor has them rated #7 out of 12 hotels in Boquete.

Our host is a personal friend of the owner. She insisted that we "must eat lunch" here because it offered great food and the atmosphere was warm and inviting kyiytvljbluiyugiunkjb,hvngfc jhglhblyub;jl;iubkjljub,kjliugiuh.lj

Hello, I made a reservation today from the 21-23 of April and the website once I put in all my credit card info + fill out the security captcha code doesn't post a page acknowledging that the information has gone through well. Instead it reverts to the reservation/credit card submission page. This makes me very insecure especially in this day and age of credit card theft etc. To add to this concern, no where on the home page (or anywhere else for that matter) can I find an email address to the front desk to write directly to them and confirm info has been received or not. I'm going to a wedding on those dates and need to reserve asap. As a foreigner living abroad with limited access to call overseas I find posting the property's contact info/email as a basic and fundamental piece of info. Further, that it may be displayed to be easily found on the web in order to be in communication with the property. I hope in writing via trip advisor I may get a response before having to call to confirm reservation has been processed. Best regards, Maria

This hotel is a nice property with well appointed rooms in a pretty setting well situated walking distance from town. My son and I stayed in a double room which was nicely appointed, large and clean. Beware there is no spa here, no hotel card about services, no gym etc. I am not really sure why they call it a Spa. Breakfast which is included to a certain extent- as they include the American breakfast- 2 eggs, meat and potatoes but not an omelette or fruit and cereal- why??? takes 45 min to one hour - even when no one is in the dining room. Both days I was there our egg orders were incorrect and it takes 25 minutes to get tea or coffee. I recommend going elsewhere. The girls at the front desk are basically clueless. They don't offer any touring information and have no laundry information either. When I wanted to do laundry I was told I would have to wait for a girl who came to the hotel with cards? She said it was dome by the pound but turns out it was done per item and because I could not stay to meet the girl mine was not done. There is no management on site which is probably the crux of their issues. Their bar staff is actually excellent as are the cocktails and dinner food. I preferred eating dinner in the bar area. We liked the local trout, the prawns with garlic sauce and especially the lemon pie.

To start, they were terrible at communication via email. We had made our reservation for the 8th until the 10th, and requested an airport shuttle. They kept saying they would be happy to pick us up on the 9th. Even after calling to clarify and writing a second email to highlight that we said the 8th, as did our online booking. They finally apologized and thankfully a nice (Spanish-only) gentleman picked us up at the airport. With high hopes and higher expectations of a "luxury" hotel we arrived at the Panamonte in the evening around 8PM of the 8th. However we were brought much disappointment when we were begrudgingly met by a very rude front desk girl. I do not recall her name but she was SO rude. We are travellers who enjoy hiking and don't bother to dress up, but we enjoy the finer side of things also, and so we booked a luxury hotel as a treat to ourselves. She turned her nose up at us and was not helpful at all, and told us we would not be able to climb Volcan Baru on our own, it was too difficult. (Not sure what she was thinking as she was the "pleasantly plump" out of shape one of the 3 of us standing there!) It was awful. Rude. And we felt so... icky and judged. And she was not very helpful in getting a taxi arranged for the hike, nor for getting us a shuttle back to the airport. We kept our pleasant composure tho and thanked her regardless. Thankfully our room was amazing. And the dinner at the restaurant was good but not worth the price. I have had better food down the street for a better price. Dinner staff were very lovely to us and helpful and playful with us. However, she also failed to tell us that the way we knew how to get out in the morning would be locked! We mentioned we would be leaving at 4am to go to the mountain, but when we got to the reception area, all the doors leading outside were locked and we could not find a way to unlock them. We waisted about 20 mins looking for a way out, we finally found one through some bushes. Just horrible. I would really recommend this hotel to no one. you want a lovely place to get married in and stay with yoru guests? for the AWFULLY high price they charge you, for the service you get all around... its really not worth it. Muy mal. es no bueno. comprende? Not worth the money.

Beautiful gardens and hotel. Shame it is so expensive compared to other options in the Boquete area. Staff are lovely. Breakfast is good, though dinner was not as tasty. Old-world charm and attention to detail.

The dining room is absolutely beautiful. Our steak was done to perfection and our salad was delicious. We have not been anywhere in Panama as nice as this wonderful hotel. We will definitely go back. We understand that the bar is a must see.
