I stayed here recently with my 16 year old daughter and a friend and had an amazing time. It has the best location, everything you need is right here! Pizza by the Sea in the village is awesome too! There was live music every night which was an added bonus.
The location is everything about this property. It’s puts you in the center of everything that is 30a. The activities like arts shows, farmers market, bike rentals, and beaches that might be some of the best in the world. The food is everywhere to eat and relax to enjoy the area.
We just stayed at a three bedroom condo here at the Village of South Walton and this place is awesome with all the pools and restaurants available and such a family place. We stayed at a very nice condo in the third floor
My family rented a 3 bdrm here and it was gorgeous!!! Located right above shopping and restaurants and bike rentals. We ate at the brick oven pizza place and it was the best pizza!!! The tram drops you off at the beach. Great Sundry store with plenty to choose from. Bought wedding gifts at one of the stores which was very convenient! The room was beautiful. Room E302. The staff kept our groom cake in the fridge for us until the wedding. Very helpful staff.
We booked here last minute to outrun Irma from St Pete beach on vacation. Checkin was awful as we did not have the details of how to collect the keys. When we saw the room though we were pleased. A reasonably sized studio with a double bed, and a double sofabed. Everything had a "well used" feel to it, and a bit of a refresh would do wonders. The microwave for example is an ancient HUGE device that occupies fully half the kitchenette workspace. A blanket from the cupboard had lipstick on it. On the upside the room is wonderfully sited, with ample parking. Because of Irma the laundry room was filled with poolside loungers but thats understandable. We spent three comfortable and safe nights here wile Irma burned past east of us. We may well return one day. £1500 spent on a refurb would transform this property buts its genuinely okay right now.
Our $852, 3 night stay, at Village of South Walton, building G, unit 281, represented by Panhandle Getaways, is a complete disappointment. Our first impression; it's over used, and under maintained, and our repeated requests for a basic necessity, like hangers, fell on deaf ears even though promises were made. We're on sight now and we're going going to bullet for you what we didn't expect to get for our 284 dollars per night. .lumpy pillows and beds .no working ceiling fan, the control is missing .yucky comforters .no blankets on the beds- there may be blankets in the garbage bag next to the broom and dust pan in the closet, but we don't have the desire to look that bag .large, unhung picture up against the wall on the floor In conclusion, the unit is a dump but our biggest disappointment is with Panhandle Getaways.
Although we used Garrett Realty for our vacation rental, and not Oaseas. We truly enjoyed our stay and the accommodations. The Villages, was perfect for our stay. Everything was at our fingertips, a stroll away. The people were friendly and the 3 bedroom condo was impeccable and (I'm hard to please.) Our Littles enjoyed the bike rides, ice cream shops, and there's even gluten free pizza. The nightly music was awesome, but at 9pm, everything closed and the lively area became quiet and rest time friendly. We are blessed to have found such a great place to visit. We honestly did not want to head home!
This is our 4th stay at Villages, might be our last. Apparently there is some separation now between the homeowners of the homes in Seacrest Beach and the Villages at Seacrest Beach (the condos). Condo guests can no longer use the lagoon pool. In the past the lagoon was a YUGE draw for me and my family. Sometimes the beach water is just too nasty with seaweed to enjoy, or too rough, like it was this weekend with rip tides. So you need another option. In addition the tram service is now by request only (take your phone if you go to the beach and expect to get retrieved, because you'll need to request a pickup) and you are NOT welcome to ride the red trams which come much more frequently. However, the Villages have built a lagoon pool of their own. It's basically a baby pool, being only 12" deep at the deepest part, and maybe 40' long entirely, rising from "12 to 0" at the 0-entry end. It looks pretty, and it was being enjoyed greatly by the baby and pre-schoolers. Totally unsuitable for anyone older than 4. But if you have small kids, it's better than the lagoon pool, there being much less stress of tweens and teens. For the unit we occupied, Pros: it was clean, and more roomy than a hotel, while reasonably priced. There is a small balcony near the room. Cons: However, it was at the opposite end of the building from the elevator. The Wi-Fi advertised on VRBO did not actually work. There were no packets uploading or downloading. I rebooted the router 4 times to no effect. I complained to management and they thought perhaps the owner didn't pay their bill??? The TV is actually quite small for a large room. Not easy to watch from across the room. Although the unit has Comcast cable, there were only about 10-13 channels, 4 of which were Beach TV 24-7 advertising and home shopping channels, a C-Span3, and one ESPN. So all that was left was broadcast. So ordinarily I would take that in stride and watch Netflix at night. But guess what...no internet! :\ Owners: fix one or the other or both. You advertise features that you do not deliver. Then, there was a dangling door lock that was attached to nothing. Was that to make me feel ore secure? Added to that, the bed was like a softer version of a plywood deck. Given the hassles at this unit, plus a unit I stayed in last year (TV in bedroom never worked for entire length of stay - simply had NO signal at all; and no wristbands to access anything were ever provided by the management, they pretty much told us to figure it out for ourselves) I probably won't stay at Villages again. If all you care about is the beach, this place is pretty nice, with none of the eastern PCB shenanigans, none of the all-night drunken college kids & older stumbling around, etc. For a beach resort, it is quiet and very family friendly in general. We, however, like amenities too, and the Villages are failing to deliver. One more note: because this unit was opposite end from the elevator, I parked my car at the elevator end the final night, planning to be close to take suitcases & etc down. There were no other cars on the curbside parking within 3 blocks. Yet at 2:30 am someone was patrolling and left me a parking violation. So, no one else is using any of the available spaces, but somehow a citation is necessary? At 2:30 am? This is the first time in my life I was actually glad to be going home and not wondering how I could extend my stay. I will definitely consider very carefully before I book Villages again.
We had a studio unit for a weekend at the Villages of South Walton in Seacrest. We won't be repeating that experience again anytime soon. The carpet was filthy. The AC didn't cool the room. Coffee maker in the room with no coffee. Bathtub and sink were clogged and drained very slowly. The pillows were flat as pancakes. No shades on the window and the curtain did not fully cover. There was a futon in the room that looked like it spent last semester in someone's college dorm room. You getting the picture? If this is your only option, stay home!
We stayed in one of the one bedroom/studio condos at The Village of South Walton a few years ago. I rented through VRBO so I can't speak about Oaseas Resorts. At the time, we had a 1 1/2 year old so we thought a condo here would be sufficient for us. First of all, the studio condo is very small! My husband and I were in each other's way and my son didn't have very far to walk - he played in the bathroom a lot. It is located on top of several restaurants stores which was very convienet for us. The beach is a few blocks away, but there is a tram that will take you to and from. We had a pool right next to our room that we used a lot (I noticed while we were down there in July that it is being remodeled and looked like it will be very nice). The large lagoon pool isn't very far, but is VERY crowded. Yes, it is a large pool, but there were always A LOT of people there. We chose to stay at our smaller pool most of the time. The location is perfect for anything in Seacrest or Rosemary. After trying different locations on 30A, we are hoping to return to Seacrest next summer, but will probably stay on the south side of 30A so we are closer to the beach. The Village of South Walton is a great choice if not traveling with small children though. We love this area!!
