The hotel is in a good location, away from large crowds, but not too far away from everything. The room was nice and it good shape. Security seems to be a bit over bearing, but they are just doing their jobs. I was really excited about the pools. They have great pools for younger kids and family. I was excited about them being on the ground floor and covered with a roof. I was wrong. It would likely have been fine later in the summer when we usually come. The water in the pools was way too cold. 1 pool and the lazy river were in the sun around lunch time and once they were in the sun, they were comfortable. Was probably just a bit early in the summer. Overall, we had a good stay.
Splash Resort as a whole is in need of major updates. The place is old and any picture you see of the resort had to be made when it first open because most of the pictures on their website and other sites look nothing like the resort now. The smaller splash pad with the blue canopy over it....the canopy isn’t there. No shade for the little ones that want to play. The water fountains in the smaller splash pad were barely working too. The “lazy” river is more of a lazy section. Only part of it seemed to be working. The big splash pad area has a big sign, one that was pointed out to us by security, “No One Under the age of 14 is allowed in the splash pad area”. That also means parents of younger children. An absolutely absurd rule especially for parents with younger children. The elevator problem mentioned in several reviews is a MAJOR ISSUE. Several reviews mention the elevators being down during their stay, it was also down at times during our stay. A guy actually got stuck between floors for a few minutes. This seems to a big safety issue for anyone staying at the resort that appears to be, based off of prior reviews and our most recent experience, going on for a while now. The elevators alone would cause me not to stay there again. Waiting 10-15 mins multiple times just to get on the elevator is ridiculous. The bar at the pool being open is another thing I’ve seen mentioned in reviews with the property manager claiming otherwise. We stayed a week and were at the pool or beach most of those days the majority of the day and I never saw anyone at the bar working. The security guards walking around checking bracelets at the pool is very annoying. I get the need to check the pool area, but it happens way too often and at times they are invasive about it (especially the younger guy). The customer service desk and gift shop situation is just odd. The people at the customer service desk could not answer a simple question about getting into the weight room. They told me to go ask the person in the gift shop. Really? It didn’t happen to just us either. I watched them do the same thing to several people during our stay asking very basic questions (pool hours for example). What are they even there for? It is just a very poor business structure and inconvenient for the customer in my opinion. If you plan on traveling with overhead storage, or even a truck\SUV with a high lift kit on your vehicle, forget about getting into the parking garage level with the walkway to the resort. The entrance is 7 ft max height. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We were very disappointed with our experience.
We booked splash for 5 nights. Overall we have had a great time. Watched dolphins from balcony, got to swim with the rays, and water is just beautiful. Pool areas have been a lot of fun for our 6 and 8 year old. Our room was clean and we loved having the washer/dryer as we used it a few times. Our only complaint is that the smoking on property is not monitored. I went down at 8:30 to meet my husband and boys in the pool area and had to walk through 2 people smoking just outside the pool door walkway, and there is no smoking on balconies either but someone literally smoked from sun up to sun down and it blew right into our balcony on 104W. My kids didnt like to be out there because it smelled so bad. Security walked around checking for wristbands but smoking was nonstop. Actually as I am typing this on the balcony they have come out to smoke and I am now blowing ashes off my laptop. This is in no way the owners or resorts fault but I just want to put this out there so maybe it may change someones mind about smoking on balcony because there are a TON of kids and we all want to use our balconies.
We had so much fun with no need to go out for anything except groceries. The resort has SOOO many activities that we didnt even take our usual trip to Shell Island, we just had so much fun at the lazy river, the splash park for the babies.... the beach.... it was awesome. Everyone loved it, grandparents, aunts and kids.
This is the second year we have stayed at the Splash resort Unti 501, and our family loves it. This unit is so beautiful and spacious. Amazing, beach front views of the Gulf of Mexico. The Splash waterpark is perfect for young and old alike. We will return for many years to come.
Stayed in E2106. Beautiful view, comfy beds. recommended. Great location VERY FRIENDLY Staff, I really can't say enough about the nice funny woman at the registration. Convenient Alvin's island store connected to the condo
We love staying at Splash, there is so much fun to be had for kids and adults along with stunning views! Pamela always makes us feel at home and is a ray of sunshine daily. We cannot wait to vacation here again!
Splash is a great place to spend summer vacation. Beach access is perfect with options for small children out of the direct sun. Pamela at the Check-in desk was a perfect hostess making the check-in process simple and easy.
Another great stay at Splash. Unit 1104e is well maintained. Great views. Well stocked unit. Nice to have beach service included with this unit. Good place for families with young children. I am sure it could be crazy crowded during peak season.
This newly remodeled unit (1101E) is perfect for families. It was clean, updated and very comfortable. The kitchen has new appliances and everything you need to cook a meal. The kids loved the bunk bed room! The beach was beautiful. The Splash Pad was SO much fun! Panhandle Getaways was very helpful, they even had an app that helped us get around the property and the area. I would highly recommend Unit 1101E for a relaxing vacation in lovely Panama City Beach!
