A bad experience during the reservation, despite the hotel employees attention and service quality during my stay there. The lack of ethic during the reservation process can be described by the following facts: 1- really high pricing differences depending on the channel used - estelar hotel webpage, call center, travel agency, hotels.com and booking.com 2- it is considered as non-refunded rate even when it is the most expensive rate offered 3- no way to contact a supervisor or manager capable to solve any issue or bad situation 4- through estelar callcenter the agents do not offer the best option, such as: two rooms cost the same as one room to a 4 people family 5- tax and fees can be charged if the "small print" describes it is not included - bad surprise only detected at the check-out Well, with better options by the same price which present ethic and more respect and transparency during the reservation process, I can not recommend this hotel to anyone. It is a shame, due to the place is really beautiful and the hotel employees are committed to serve with the best intentions.
My husband, toddler and I stayed at the Estelar Paipa over the weekend and it was a mixed experience. On the one hand, the food was pretty good, the servers were nice, and the pools were very warm even though the weather was chilly, which we loved. But we had a few issues with customer service. First, the guy at the pool would scold anyone who entered without a swim cap, even though 1. there were no easily-read signs saying they were necessary, 2. it's rude to scold adults who are not trying to break the rules and 3. they actually SELL caps for about $2 but he didn't offer that information up, just made people get out! I ended up telling two different people that they could purchase caps once he made them leave the pool. He also kicked us all out of the pool when it rained for a few minutes but then didn't come to the area where we were all waiting once it was okay to get back in. The second issue is that when we checked in they said our room didn't include breakfast, which I hadn't remembered (normally I choose a breakfast-included option, especially in an area with no nearby restaurants...). When we went to breakfast on the first day the server said it was actually included. My husband asked her to please double check since we'd been told it wasn't, which she did. We ate the buffet for 3 days and when we went to check out it was included as a cost. The annoying thing about this is that we were basically treated like criminals when we said that we were told it was included. Mistakes happen, but we'd had to sign for all other expenses incurred and were never asked to sign for breakfast (even though one morning I ordered a drink a la carte and did have to sign for it!). Anyway, it was a hassle and took us about 40 minutes to fix. Finally, overall the vibe seems to be that guests are not to be trusted. We had to use cards to get towels and turn the cards in at the end of the stay. We had to wear swim caps in the giant pools, which seemed totally unnecessary. The minibar had stickers on the items so you couldn't eat something and then replace it, which I find completely stupid in all hotels. But it's a reasonably-priced place and the pools were great. The servers couldn't have been nicer to my toddler and were attentive. There are activities for kids - a playground, table tennis, a little farm with animals, story time and a room for little kids to play in. The issues above certainly didn't ruin our stay, but I don't think we'll be back.
this place touts itself as a 5-star resort, which is a little dramatic and undeserving for what you get for your money. i'd say it's closer to a 3-star place with a roomrate that is too high but what it lacks for in luxury it makes up for in on-campus distractions for little people. there are horses to ride, a little petting zoo, lots of green space (kind of soggy if it's been raining, though), a trampoline, a play ground, table games, ping pong, kids room, and a pool set-up that has a little one for the tots and a bigger one for older kids. the restaurant in the hotel was actually better than i expected and the service personnel are nice. we enjoyed our stay! there's also a spa and jacuzzis. reasonably priced massages and facials on offer at the spa-the treatments weren't amazing but solid and for the price, i'd do it again.
This is a fine hotel. At the time my family and I went to the hotel it was being refurbished, so the elevator wasn't´t in a good form nor the pool but despite this obvious flaws I had a valuable time with my father in his birthday. As well it is important to say that my room with wheelchair facilities worked nicely and that I took a mud massage, which I suggest, jajaja.
Spent a couple of days at this beautiful hotel. The landscape of the area is beautiful with mountains and a lake that make it a very peaceful setting. The hotel in itself is beautiful and being a convention center has state of the art technology for a business meeting with a colonial feel in the guest area. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Food was great and service impeccable. Would strongly recommend it for a weekend getaway and will definitely go back!
Our visit started badly. One person on reception was rude and then we discovered that the pool was out of action for repairs. However when i complained that we would not have booked if we had known then they twice arranged a taxi and tickets free of charge to a nearby hotel so we could use the pool there. And the service turned out to be excellent after all, with everyone else very helpful. They were very helpful providing cot and high chair for our baby and hot water as required. A baby friendly hotel in Colombia! The breakfasts are excellent and the other meals pretty good too. Great view. Big beds. Decent WiFi. Good facilities.
My family and I wanted a quiet break in between Christmas and New Year and this hotel was perfect. The hotel is sat on the edge of the lake and have stunning views through the glorious green valley. The grounds are vast and have lovely walks through them, and a large children's play park which includes a large trampoline which my children loved. The food was fresh and very tasty. From the well stocked breakfast buffet, pool menu and evening meal, we were never disappointed. Very tasty and freshly prepared! We will definitely return, a fantastic family hotel in an idilic location!
This hotel has been our choice for our last 4 trips to Paipa. Our on the third floor room was comfortable with a great sight of the lake, the only problem was the TV remote not working properly. We enjoyed the hot spring jacuzzi and sauna. Food in the only restaurant is ok, although some items are too expesive for what they offer. There are also some trails in the woods where you can go for a walk, but we where disappointed during our last visit when we found out that many trees had been cut down. I recommend this hotel if you want to have a relaxing weekend.
We visited this hotel for a weekend (october 14-16/2016) and we were really impressed on the quality of the service: smiling personnel, fast responses and solutions everywhere. I Highly recommend this hotel
Ive been coming here since i was a little kid and i never get tired of it! If you want to get away from Bogota, relax, breath fresh air and disconnect this is the place. Views are stunning, food is alright and the spa amenities are great! A couple things is that we asked for an extra bath robe several times and never got it and the drinks guy at the spa was in a rush and spilled one of our drinks. Overall a good stay though, great for friends, families or couples! Esperanza and samuel are always helpful and friendly though!
