My family including kids enjoyed the one night we stayed here. Wish we could of stayed longer.
Very nice resort style property, love it! Room is much better than the pictures! The black sand beach is 1 minute drive away. Saw some turtles on the beach too! Not overcrowded. Wish we could stay for another night to enjoy the property more…

Excellent property for relax almost cero noice, kinda far from city and or restaurants but close to the beach and the volcanoes...
The room itself is amazing, much more than expected. It has a kitchen, a sitting from, a balcony, and even washer and drier. It's within walking distance to the black sand beach. The nearest dinning place and grocery store is 7 miles away though. And they didn't provide shampoo and conditioner (for sale at the front desk but it closes super early), we arrived late that day, and this made our life really hard.
This is our second visit to Colony 1 at Sea Mountain within a year. We love it here. It is so quiet and peaceful. Visiting the black sand beaches and Honu at Pahala is amazing.

Well the views are amazing, the staff is super friendly, parking was easy, and a very short walk to an amazing beach. Not an expensive place to stay but worth it if your goal is to connect with nature. If your looking for dining you are out of luck here. Bring your own food and cook it, same with drinks as the closest place to shop, eat, or drink is 8-10 miles away by car.
Very nice hotel with big room and so nice view! Clean, good beds and everything you need. Just one thing you don't have shampoo included. I don't know why because they could put 1 or 2 small bottles considering the price. Otherwise I recommand this hotel, very quiet and nice voew. The office give you the different places that you need to know for the groceries. Don't expect a very touristic area but it is what we like, local and beatutiful without the crowd. I recommand
The location is very beautiful and love the look of the condo and the balcony. very nice view of the ocean and the unit is very nicely furnished w necessary items for kitchen - ample pots and pans to cook with along w great dishware set. Staff is excellent in guiding for late check in and we were locked out for one of the days and staff very quickly guided us in getting another key. WOnderful stay and great attentiveness to making it pleasurable.
The location was fantastic after a day at HVNP and Punalu’u beach was less than 10 minutes walking. The grounds were wonderful (though the pool and amenities were impacted by covid-19). Check-in was a nightmare. The check-in time window with the desk is only 4-5pm otherwise you have to stand under a light being attacked by flying insects while you hold a pay phone to your ear for 15-30 min waiting on a person to pick up. When the person finally answered, they had no idea who I was and I had to find a way to get into the lock box with the aid of another person checking in. The unit itself had a few bugs and several intense instructions though they did not provide the tools to do so (keep all trash in the trash bins but there were no bins to keep the trash in). Overall, I have mixed feelings about whether the stay was worth the cost. (Also, all food options close at or before 7. Keep that in mind when traveling so your wait to check-in doesn’t cancel your dinner plans).
The property was very nice and well kept on a golf course and about a half mile from a black sand beach. Quiet, and secluded with a kitchen. Make sure you either bring something to fix to eat or be prepared to drive, the closest restaurant is 7 miles down the road.would definitely stay here again.
Great stay and value on the way to big island. The unit was fully equipped. Remember to bring food to cook or eat. Next door to a beautiful black sand beach.
