The Royal Oxford hotel was perfectly situated to walk from the train station or into the city center. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms lovely. The staff (especially William) were polite, helpful and patient with all of our tourist questions.

There really is nothing to this hotel. It looks big in the picture, but actually it occurs only a small reception area on the ground floor; retail shops occur the rest of the ground floor. The hotel has all or most of upper floors. There is a small restaurant that serves breakfast, not included, which we found to be slow, and supper. The hallways are narrow and very stuffy. The best feature of the rooms and the hotel is the bathroom, which has been completely remodeled and well-designed. The bed is rock hard. The staff was very helpful.

Close to train station, and close enough to town center

Great place to stay, comfortable bed and clean bathroom and hotel is in a convenient location near Oxford city centre.

The staff was great! In particular Alexandra was absolutely amazing. The place is old, but comfortable, clean and safe.

Very nice hotel. Helpful staff brings up the luggage as there are no elevators. Perfect location.

The staff was lovely except when they tried to charge me for having them call them airline for me and have them transfer the call to my room. In the meantime be they made an appointment exception and took it off my bill. Just beware of that. Also, my room was great but it’s next to a night club which is was a bit noisy on a Tues night and the hotel is also on a busy street where you hear many buses during the day. Not a big deal but something to keep in mind. Lastly, not a deal breaker but there’s no elevator and my room was 2 flights up but they carry you bags for you up and down and they don’t expect a tip.
