We spent one night there. The staff was friendly. Good for short stay in Oxford. Good restaurants on the back. Worth to explore. They kept my luggage when check-out. Bus stops are in front of the guest house. Buses are frequent in Oxford. I found that the bus service to the train station was quite good. You need to transfer at the centre of Oxford.

Parts still being renovated. Friendly very helpful staff. The part we stayed in was Nicely renovated and decorated. Clean comfortable room, adequate as a base whilst right seeing. Restaurant compact and breakfast substantial, set out nicely. My overall review- yes would definitely recommend this guest house and will stay again when visiting Oxford.

Turned up at door to hear two staff members arguing loudly. Hallway and stairs dirty and in need of decoration and new carpets. Room tiny and stuffy and they put our children in a room in a different building despite booking two rooms as a family. We decided to take the three hour journey home rather than stay. I think our cat had more comfortable accommodation (certainly cleaner!) at the cattery!

Stayed here in August 2018 and would not return. Sure it was cheap, but you can get a much better room for not so much more. The room was very warm due to the heat wave. But the window would only stay open a bit so it was hard to do something about it. I had to use a clothes hanger to keep it open during the night. The room and bathroom was small and very "basic", but might work if you only need a place to sleep. A lot of narrrow stairs though so not a place for people with limited mobility. Breakfast is not included, but costs £5 for some white toast, prepackaged yoghurt and tea/coffee/orange juice. Not worth it, a premade sandwich from Sainsbury's or Tesco will give you a better breakfast at a lower price.

Stayed here for a concert in the o2 academy. Excellent location, 5 minutes walk from academy, close to restaurants. However, still in quiet location. Secure parking, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. A lot of stairs to the room !!!! Room was smallish but perfectly adequate for our needs. Very clean and tidy. Would recommend for a stay.

We booked 2 days but we were only 1. Room number 7. There is no soap, no shampoo in the bathroom, in the shower there are black stains of mold. Corridors and narrow stairs. The small parking lot and the high-end cars are favored. The receptionist is unpleasant and rude but parking where it tells you. I will never go back to that place, very expensive for such bad services

A group of 4 friends stayed for 2 nights last weekend. Our family room was spotless and the beds very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and there was on site parking which was a bonus. Self service breakfast was available for £5, included orange juice, yoghurt, cereals toast and hot drinks. It is about a 25 minute walk to the centre of Oxford but there are a few bars and eating places nearby, definately would recommend the James Street Tavern about 7 minute walk away for drinks and food. Would stay here again

I spent one night in Oxford and the Cherwell was perfect for me. Maybe a bit small the stairs compared certain luggage and people sometimes bring with them, but nothing is missing. Small room but nice, very central position and the staff was absolutely the winning part of the Guest House. I definitely recommend staying here for short stays: strategic position, nice staff, all you need.

Rooms are clean and comfortable if a little spartan. Kettle provided. Ensuite shower and toilet - no shower gel or shampoo. Hotel comprises converted terraced houses, stairs are steep and narrow. Some noise from other guests in the corridor and car park. Car park is at the back of the hotel and secured with an electronic gate. Helpful staff.

I stayed here for one night whilst at a conference and found the place to be extremely clean and great value for money. It cost £45/night and I got to park there for free as well. Staff was very nice, helpful and polite. The room was small but very clean. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re on a budget! Can’t fault it!
