Expedia travel confirmation - 19 Oct - (Itinerary # 7303876777310) This place is disgusting, talk about photoshop?!? I don't even want to know what the stains on the floor were. Light shades with burn marks. Moldy carpet, what was that stain on the bed, nope once again, don't want to know!! Barely warm water, door to parking lot didn't lock as wites were hanging from it. Explains random dude trying to ger into room claiming he was my brother. In all my travels i have never been so afraid to sleep in a motel. Checked for bedbugs but didn't see any which surprised me and would've resulted in me sleeping in my car. As by booking through expedia there would be no refund on refusing the room we toughed it out. Kept shoes on until going to bed due to grossness of carpet. Fortunately i had a plastic bag to put around the remote to turn the tv off and on... as a homeless shelter this place would need an upgrade. Can not believe it was even listed on expedia and as a result i will not book through them again. Seriously do not book here. Outraged at the price i paid in comparison to other rooms i have booked on our vacation as we explore Southern Ontario. Such a disappointment how can they even operate as a motel??? Expedia i am so disappointed. There should be a refund on this type of experience. If i could rank beyond terrible i would.
terrible location, nothing nearby,it is old and dirty, very disappointed ,do not stay at this hotel,I am surprised it is still on various hotel sites ,it is the worst hotel we have stayed at for sure .
My girlfriend and I stayed here for a weekend trip to Ottawa. This place was perhaps the worst hotel if ever stayed in, to start it looked like it was shut down from the outside, walked in to find a very run down lobby but it was late and we needed a place to sleep, the room although non smoking smelled of smoke and mould, we then found not hot water in the shower, the TV did not have a single station, the room seemed to be under construction and bit of the ceiling were falling on to the bed and furniture, towels were old and very yellowed. This room cost is nearly $180 and fell way below North American standards. The experience got worse when I tried to file a complaint, after a month of trying to contact the manager I was offered $30 as a refund and when I said it was not enough he called me a liar and told me he was going to inform the police.
Where do I start? Booked the hotel for 2 nights due to posted photographs and reviews, suspect posted by hotel staff and possibly their reviews as well. Photographs can tell whoppers!! Reception & corridors filthy. Entire building run down. Corridors & room smelt (bought air fresheners). Bath/shower black mould. Ceiling water damaged & peeling (it rained that night & debris fell onto our cases). Carpets filthy (kept shoes on).Wallpaper old & peeling off. Dirty towels. Turned back bedcovers & discovered packet of cigarettes under the base sheet. Pillows spotted with blood. No fridge in room. OVERPRICED.Door did not close properly. Unsecured Wi-Fi. Felt insecure. Stayed around City centre until late not wanting to go back to that miserable room. Hardly slept but kept clothes on for fear of what would be crawling on us. Toilet coming away from wall. Checked out after 1 night. Contacted Expedia for a refund of 2nd night - no response still waiting. Think I should be asking for a total 100% refund and this hotel needs condemning and did not live up to its reviews/photos.
Upon checking in, the first issue was that our hotel room keys did not work after several attempts. Then, when we finally entered the room, it was filthy! Definitely was not vacuumed or cleaned, there were crumbs all over the carpet, the sheets had stains and rips, the washroom walls had hair on them as well as the toilet not properly flushing. The shower faucet was not properly working either, as "H" was in fact, freezing cold, and "C" was in fact scorching hot. After complaining to the receptionist of all of the issues and even showing him as proof, we wanted to leave and demanded our $ back, but he still would not give us our $ back, only offered us another filthy room. The manager was also completely unprofessional over the phone insisting we leave but not giving us our $ back. Finally after over an hour of arguing and completely ruining our long weekend plans of going out for a nice dinner and seeing fireworks seeing as how we were out of town, we had to call Booking.com. who resolved our issue and verified with the receptionist to give us our $ back. This "hotel" should not be in business - it is utterly filthy and completely unprofessional and not accommodating!
Hello folks. I normally don't put in reviews but this one takes the cake. Last minute decision to head to Ottawa and was looking for a hotel reasonable and close to downtown. This hotel popped up when we were half way. I called and booked it as I was 10 min away and price seemed nice. Got there front lobby didn't look to shabby. I am the type to normally read reviews but this time didn't. Booked it for 2 nights. We got there almost 11 pm tired and exhausted from a long drive. When we oped the side door which was not even secured we got the smell. Damp wet stale smell. Then we walked along the hallway to our room once again the odour was worst. Opened the door to our room 114 what a smell. Stale old carpets that had old cigarette smells a TV dates from back in the 90's dressers that had handles broken off the lamp was broken so u had to hold it with both hands to turn on and cigarette burns in the blankets. Couldn't take off our shoes in this place. Walked over to Timmy's teyinrgg to see what we could do. Went back to front desk and commented about the condition. His only reason was the rain they got wasn't good. After reading other reviews I realized they were lying. We even looked up at the other units and most had mild and Mildew They wouldn't refund our night so we stayed and booked off the second night. I didn't care after that we stayed at the Marriot Courtyard the next night. Pay ur money and stay somewhere else.
As we were rushed to find somewhere to stay, I didn't read the reviews, and on the face of it, this place looked ok. When we arrived it was after dark and the end of a long road trip, and we just wanted to unpack and go to sleep. The lady at the desk was nice enough, but the smell in the lobby was overpowering and an indicator of things to come. The trip upstairs and along the corridor complete with sticky carpet underfoot, buckets catching drips, and parts of the ceiling falling in, had me wondering whether this was a Halloween special. Inside the room, the adventure went up a level and I was nearly choking at the smell of stale smoke and the underfoot carpet would have kept me grounded if gravity failed. We decided to bail out. There are enough other reviews that detail the condition of the rooms, I will just say that we couldn't get out of there fast enough. This place should be a national embarrassment for Canadians who in my extensive travelling in this wonderful country are in the main, very hygiene concious and this place needs to be treated as though it is radioative waste. Maybe the Ottawa city council needs to get advice from the Russian authorities on their Chernobyl containment....
Made the mistake of booking a room through Expedia without reading the reviews first that would have indicated to us that this establishment only has a 1.5 star rating. It advertises as being a family friendly establishment and the pictures on Expedia looked alright but I can asure you it is not a place that you would take children to. We were given one door card for a room on the second floor. Access to the second floor is thru a security door which no longer works as the locks on two of the security doors are broken which allowed access to anyone at anytime. Cars were coming and going from the carpark all night as were people entering the building for whatever purpose I dont know. The entrance ways were dirty and stair carpets stained. Outside the entrances was littered with cigarette butts the smell of which permeated the building. The room was shabby with wallpaper cut and pasted in patches over damaged walls. Window frames and tracks were filthy. The carpet was stained and filthy. One bulb in the bathroom blown and one bulb in bedside lamp completely missing, family friendly I think not. If a child were to put their fingers in that light fitting they would get electrocuted. The curtain rail was just about to fall off and curtains wouldnt pull which allowed the security light from carpark to shine in. Complementary shampoo was half used although the bathroom was clean. When we turned the heater on in the morning it filled the room with dust. But the worst was yet to come. We went down to the breakfast room. Bread and croissants were under a plastic covered tray with tongs hanging on top polystyrene plates and cups plastic knives uncovered on counter. The toaster plug and corner of counter top had visible rat droppings. I took the manager and showed him the rat droppings he said that he would deal with it. I also pointed out that this had been noted in a review in September and it appeared that nothing had been dealt with, to which he replied "well why did you stay here then ". Had I read the review prior to booking there is no way we would have stayed there Please be warned this place is a health hazard.
Worst hotel experience ever! The roof was leaking. The room was dirty! We even found rats in the breakfast area, running on the counter , just behind the food! Disgusting! We chose that one as it was close to down town and it was our first visit to Ottawa
Don't ever stay at this place....we stayed for only 15 mins and left. It was not a nice place at all. Although it is near downtown, it is not in a nice area. We were given a ground floor room and the windows did not even lock. There area buildings in the same property that are boarded up.....
