We absolutely love this hotel. Not the best area but the service staff made up for it. The desk clerk named Charity was so helpful and pleasant to have greet us when we arrived. AND when we decided to stay an extra day despite the hotel being booked up she did her best to accomodate us. Thank you Charity. The 319 restaurant attached is great especially if you have the pleasure of being served by Shannon. We always had breakfast there because she totally put a good mood on the start of our day. Thank you Days Inn for hiring and excellent staff.

I am Robin K. I had the pleasure of going to the 319 restaurant with two of my S.G.I. friends. My girlfriends knocked on the door of my unit and said "we wish to take you for coffee". I am always open to that. I suggested the Three nineteen. This spot has been recently newly, decorated. This time we ordered the coffees and freshly prepared grub. I actually had a cheese-burger plate. We shared the house pancake too. Very good. Bring your appetite for lunch.

We arrived at 8pm on July 6th. We called the front desk to ask for 2 extra pillows. We were told that they had no extra pillows available , housekeeping had lady for the day and there was no access to get extra pillows. This is the first hotel we have stayed in that did not fill this simple request.

The room (1 queen + sofa bed) was sizable. The hotel's hallway had a dark striking black and yellow theme. We could unfortunately hear people pass by in the hallways. The hotel was next to a pharmacy (Shoppers Drug Mart), a grocery store (Loblaws) and a corner convenience store. On the East downtown side, it was walking distance from Byward Market. The front could have used more than 1 staff member at busy times, though they were pleasant. Further, the restaurant seemed to be randomly closed, forcing us to find different nearby places for dinner and breakfast. Parking was convenient.

Good: Comfortable bed. Bathroom looked redone. Location very close to market and restaurants. Very short walk to many attractions. Bad: Overall kind of a bad vibe. Ok for a night. Would not stay for extended time. I personally will not stay again because of the neighborhood. Stayed in Ottawa many times. Stayed at many locations where I walked much farther to hotels. This area of Rideau street is sketchy. Not where I would vacation. Many drug users on street. At all times of day. Morning, noon, night. No one was aggressive, but there were a lot of people obviously drunk or using. A lot of people asking for change. One prostitute. Literally people rolling on the sidewalk high or drunk when we returned at night. Someone lying in front of the hotel in the morning. My visit was midweek. One night stopover. Not especially pleasant walk to parliament with that setting. Stayed at many great hotels in the last few years in Ottawa where I walked much longer, but enjoyed the lovely walk in nicer areas.

We stayed here for one night while driving through Canada. We found it to be clean, comfortable and in a good location on Rideau Street in downtown Ottawa. They do charge for parking but it is in the city so that wasn't a problem. I would definitely come back here next time I come to Ottawa.

Conveniently located near market. Bit of maze getting to and from. I actually drove down the wrong way of a one way street - a first! Room clean. Pay for parking though at $8 a night Canadian they should cover it with their fee. Standard no frills place.

We chose this hotel based on location. We wanted easy access to highway 417 and walking distance to points of interest. This hotel fit the bill perfectly not to mention a great value. Rooms were large and clean. Breakfast was fast and a bargain. Staff were pleasant and efficient.

I had booked 5 days in Ottawa over a year ago as I wanted to celebrate my birthday on Parliament Hill and what better year to do it! Most places weren't taking reservations at that point but I was lucky to get the dates I wanted. Charity booked my reservation. A few months before we went, I reconfirmed my reservation, again with Charity. The hotel has been refurbished but was quiet and clean. They honoured the price they gave me while a lot of other places jacked their prices up! The staff was very friendly and polite. There was a restaurant in the hotel. There was an LCBO and a beer store close by as well as a Metro and Loblaw's grocery store. We were a 10 - 15 minute walk to the Hill. When I booked I didn't realize that there was a fridge in the room so that was a nice surprise! There was also a washer and dryer on our floor. I would definitely stay there again.

Our stay was pleasant. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The front desk was always friendly. We enjoyed the proximity to most everything of interest. The surrounding area was a little less desirable; however this was no problem. We would stay here again.
